It’s been a while since I’ve sent anything through the mail... just wanted to double-check something. When I’m filling out one of those yellow COD forms, am I technically the recipient on both sides? Thanks in advance 🙂
Yeah, those yellow cabs definitely charge a premium.
I don't know, I just remember her telling me there was a 50% discount on the brand. And I think I saw something similar over at Target, too. Plus, yeah, it's definitely required. Maybe it depends on whether it's a small parcel or a full package, I guess... I couldn't say for sure.
My mom mentioned there might be some kind of extra surcharge on stamps (not sure about the specific dates) for the Red Cross or something along those lines...
If that's true, shipping costs would basically double... Does anyone actually know what's going on with this?
Or maybe it’s just something happening at the local Post Office... I think I heard something similar back in December...
Maybe they were thinking of EMS. That’s what they told me when I sent my first package, just a way to squeeze more money out of you, I guess...

Nah, you just grab that white slip for the package (the one with the little grid for every zip code, whereas the shipping ones are just one long rectangle), get that pale yellow payment slip (it's the 40-cent kind where you list yourself as the recipient since it's for the refund), and grab the yellow cardboard tag for the parcel. Fill everything out, make sure the package is wrapped properly, and drop the whole mess off at the counter. There isn't much else to figure out, really.

And EMS is some kind of fast service, something express... The slip for that is white too, but it has some blue markings on it (or maybe they were orange and blue, I can't be entirely sure)
The paper needs to be solid color. It could be pink, I guess, but it has to be one solid shade—usually white or maybe some other colored paper...
As for those little twist ties, sometimes they ask for them and sometimes they don't. One time, they sent me home with three packages that were so hard to carry, I barely made it. Since then, I just make sure to include the twist ties every single time.
It looks like everyone's stuck in the same boat... I had a package sent by city2 and it still hasn't shown up either... and I think it's been almost two weeks already...
Yeah, but I end up covering all of that along with the shipping, so the total hits about 21-$8.75 bucks. Between the 14-15 dollar shipping fee, $1.75 the COD charge, and that 3% fee,
it just adds up.
I have a question. I send everything COD, and I cover the shipping costs myself along with the extra fee for $1.75 (bar). No one ever mentioned anything to me before, but lately, the last two girls I sold to told me their total was bumped up by $5.00 (which is basically an extra shipping charge). I’m honestly not sure where that comes from...
I haven't requested any special services, and I haven't had anyone complain about this until now...
I'm just waiting for Chris Collins6 to let me know what the post office says, but does anyone happen to know what might be causing this?
When I'm sending out a package (without any COD/cash on delivery)... how much paperwork am I actually looking at? I have that white slip, similar to the one used for standard shipments, but it looks slightly different. Also, do I need to include that yellow slip too, or is that strictly for packages with a payment due?
Yeah, I ended up paying today too, though I honestly can't figure out why... It feels like they ask for it one day and then just forget about it the next.
I’ve sent about five packages (plus another 15 individual shipments) through the USPS before, and I’ve never once been told they needed to be wrapped in paper. But this last time, the clerk at the post office tells me it’s mandatory because someone might stick a finger in the box and see what’s inside, which isn't allowed. I pointed out that the box is white, fully taped, sealed tight, and it's just a pair of sneakers—there's no way anyone is getting in there. She basically offered to do it for me for $1.75. I just said, "No thanks, I'll come back another time."

Just on principle.
I still need to send something via COD...
I don't think it's going to fit in one of those basic shoe boxes; it's actually pretty big. I guess, how much do they charge for one of their shipping boxes? And what would the total come to with the COD fee included $57?
I honestly don't know... for instance, I once received a recycled* envelope like that, and I actually found it kind of weird that they'd even accept it. It was all crumpled up and torn... I guess whether someone takes it probably just depends on the individual person.
Could someone give me a quick rundown on how things work when I'm sending a larger package? Like, what are the limits on box dimensions (minimums to maximums), where exactly do I need to write the info on the box, and how should it be packed? Also, what am I actually supposed to say to the clerk at the post office? I always get tripped up on whether to call it a package, a letter, or a shipment. Thanks 🙂
If you're paying the buyout fee, it seems pretty standard. As for doing it without one, I guess I'm not really sure...
Definitely don't put them in a bag 😁 you have no idea how they handle packages; it’s like they think they’re playing football with them—NO bags
I guess you can always plan things out ahead of time at home so you know exactly what to say to prevent them from scamming you. 😁 Honestly, my wife ended up swindling me too—well, not me personally, but the girls I was sending stuff to, since they were the ones footing the bill for shipping. But that was way back when I was first starting out with them. Nowadays, they don't even try it. 😉
I probably wouldn't pay them a dime until they actually provide some sort of explanation.
Just wanted to mention that the same woman asked me again if I wanted EMS shipping or just the standard option. Honestly, I shouldn't have even had to clarify that I’ve never used it before; I'm pretty sure she only pushed the more expensive EMS because it was my first time. But whatever, she was actually patient and polite about it today.
