Just got back from the Post Office.
So, just to confirm—a declared value package can't be less than $334
Here’s the lowdown on what they told me:
Basically, whatever value you guys write down on your labels doesn't mean jack squat. If a package goes missing, you aren't getting a dime back, no matter what value you scribbled on the box. It’s just treated like a standard parcel, whether you list a value or not. For small amounts, you have to send it as insured mail to actually get a refund if it disappears (I think I already knew that part), but for anything under $333, there's zero guarantee. Nothing. You could pack it up like a treasure chest, but unless you pay extra to ship it as an insured package, you're out of luck.
All that effort by the musicians is basically for nothing 😢
Sry Arabe 😢
So I'm actually heading out, like, in just a couple of days! I'm currently sorting some stuff out with this one girl—I have to send her something valuable too, so I guess we're probably gonna end up bickering a little bit again once we meet up.
Just popping in here because I’m honestly feeling so defeated right now... I’ve seriously never had an issue with the USPS before, they’re usually so sweet.
I even double-checked the rates on their website before heading out, just to be totally sure, and they told me straight up that you can't send a declared value package if the amount is less than $333, like, it doesn't even exist? It was basically four against one, everyone saying the exact same thing like they were all in on it together. I don't even know what to do now... I'm seriously lost 😢
