I’ve probably used them a hundred times by now. The recipient can usually pick up the cash almost immediately, which is great if you actually know and trust the person you're sending it to.
The fees seem a little pricey to me (you can check the rates on the USPS website), but I guess there isn't really a cheaper way to wire money overseas. When I did it for the first time, I didn't even realize I had to deal with exchange rates. I showed up with 100 bucks and told them I wanted to send exactly 100 dollars 🙂, but since you're technically sending it through their system, they calculate everything based on the conversion rate of the destination country. For example, when I sent 50 bucks over to Mexico, I ended up paying $130 plus the service fee.

Is anyone else actually using their mailboxes lately????
I don't know, I guess I've just never really had an issue before, but this is the first time I've ever dropped something in a mailbox instead of taking it straight to the USPS counter, and now absolutely nothing has shown up.

I sent out two packages back on the 24th, and they both just showed up this past Saturday. So, I guess maybe we shouldn't start panicking just yet if things are running a few days behind.

Is it actually possible for two different letters, both dropped off at the post office at the exact same time and headed to the same address, to end up arriving on totally different days? I only saw one show up, so I’m sitting here wondering if I should start panicking because the other one might have just vanished into thin air somewhere in the system.

the mailman probably just left a notice at the wrong house. yeah, honestly, that kind of thing happens all the time.
