For example, if it says $3.25, you’re looking at an extra $3.25, making it $20 total. Now, if the buyer owes you $33 including shipping, that's the amount you write on the slip—that's the cash you actually get—but the buyer will end up paying about $3.25 in extra fees, so the total shipping cost hits roughly $10.
It's honestly smarter to just have them Venmo or Zelle you $6.00 for the shipping upfront. You can send it as a standard package that way, which keeps the costs at a minimum.
Plus, you can always pick up the cash at the post office once the clerk leaves a notice for you.

What if the buyer picks it up at their local post office instead of having it delivered to their door? Does anything change—like, do they still have to deal with those extra fees $3.25?
Hey there!
I’ve never sent a package before—this is my first time this week—so I’ve been scrolling through previous posts to catch up. Tell me if I’ve got this right, because I definitely have more questions 🙂
Obviously, I'm looking for the cheapest way to do this..

So, I'm sending some shoes (they aren't heavy 😁)😁. My plan is to put them in a shoebox, wrap the box in white paper, and tie it up with some twine. Then I head to the local USPS branch and tell them I want to ship it to a city somewhere in the US (does the distance matter, or does the price change based on mileage??)
Is it best to send it as a package with COD (cash on delivery)?
The amount the recipient has to pay is roughly $33.. the shipping fee shouldn't be more than $6.75, right?
Do I pay those $5.00 upfront, or can the recipient handle it when they pick it up at the post office? (And if so, how do I address it?)
Since I'm rarely home, can I just collect the money at the post office when it's ready for pickup instead of having it delivered to my door?
