Could someone please break this down for me in plain, simple English?
What’s the actual difference between Release to Manufacturing and Retail versions?
Which one is actually better to grab, and how does the release schedule usually work...
I heard that Windows 7 RTM is already out there, but that the Retail version isn't expected for a while.

If you had bothered to scan the internet for the minimum system requirements before installing Windows 7, I probably wouldn't have felt the need to drop such a cynical comment in the first place.....
The recommendation is at least 2GB, though it might technically run on 1GB, but on your 512MB, it's going to be a total crawl........
Again, sorry if you took that personally; I didn't mean any harm, but this thread is already 30 pages deep with about 600 comments, so a quick skim would have gone a long way.😁
Or, she could just pull the RAM out of the tower, head down to Best Buy, and pick up some more (get the ones with higher MHz... I'd suggest 800MHz, though who knows if it'll even work with your setup).

Which is actually better, the Windows 7 beta or the RC? I’m currently running version 7127 x64, but I can't help wondering if there's something newer out there floating around... if anyone has a download link, please send it my way.
