Thomas Hernandez21 said:Wait, you bought a 5.1 system but didn't realize you only have a stereo output? 😬 Where the hell are all those cables even plugged in? Honestly, I can't remember the last time I saw a laptop with actual 5.1 audio support. You've got two choices:
a) buy an external sound card and plug everything into that
b) grab a 3.5mm splitter, but it's gonna be total garbage and won't work right
Joshua Garcia3 said:Which exact Acer Emachines are you rocking? Check the sticker on the bottom of the laptop and tell me the model. 🙂
Thomas Hernandez21 said:Then you gotta install the actual sound drivers, because you’re probably stuck using those generic ones right now. Just hit up the motherboard manufacturer's site and pick your specific model.
Joshua Garcia3 said:Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar > Sounds > Playback tab. Select Speakers, then hit Configure down in the bottom left corner of that window. Pick 5.1 Surround and run the test.
Mess around with the settings inside those windows. 🙂
Joshua Garcia3 said:What remote? We're talking about a PC, not some stereo system, since he asked this under the Windows 7 thread.😕
Which motherboard are we even talking about? Brand and model.🙂
Benjamin King2 said:How many times are you trying to activate the same Windows? You just said you installed the same Windows on two different PCs, right?
Benjamin King2 said:Alright, enough with the nonsense... anyone who asks an activation question should be forced to take a month off.
Timothy Taylor42 said:That would mean you've only got 12 days left before Windows needs activation.
No problem.

I've got an ASUS A7U laptop and just installed Windows 7 today, but there's a massive issue—the drivers on the included CD aren't working, and Windows didn't even bother auto-installing my graphics or sound card drivers!!

neonmaker12 said:Yeah, right. Like everyone in this thread actually owns an original! 🤣
George Chavez89 said:just installed Windows 7 and honestly, I've got nothing but praise. This system is killer. Way better than Vista.
Speed-wise? It's fantastic. I'm running a 2.6 dual core with 2 GB of RAM and it's actually outperforming my buddy's Vista setup, which has a 3.2 clocked 64-bit processor and 2 GB of RAM.
Even browsing the web feels faster. Now I just gotta get used to everything compared to how XP worked.

Instead, I wanna know if Win 7 would run on a 1.5 GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM?
It's a laptop
Joshua Garcia3 said:Win 7 runs fine even on an older rig:
P4 2.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce
Zero issues. 👍
