Dealing with spondylolysis: Advice/Tips? in Health ·
Wait, so nobody knows anything about this???
Dealing with spondylolysis: Advice/Tips? in Health ·
Greetings,

Here’s the situation. About three months ago, I was diagnosed with spondylolysis (lumbar). Apparently, there's a gap between the vertebrae—about 0.5cm, if I'm reading this right. If my medical terminology is off, please bear with me; I'm certainly no doctor.
The question is this:
Since I’m an athlete, can I actually keep training normally? Or am I looking at some kind of disaster if I push it?
I’m feeling pretty lost on this one, so if anyone could break this down for me in plain English, I’d really appreciate it. If you need more specifics to give me an answer, just 😉.
Thanks in advance.
ED or something else? in Health ·
I don't know. Honestly, it might just be an issue with blood flow down there. I’d suggest trying a few specific things.
1.) Unknown exercises.
I'm assuming you aren't familiar with them. Next time you're in the restroom, try stopping your urine mid-stream. That muscle you use to halt the flow? That's the Unknown muscle. Try squeezing that muscle about 200 times a day.
If you want more details (and trust me, you really should), just Google "Unknown exercises"—you'll find plenty of useful info out there.

2.) Drink some ginseng tea.
You can pick some up at a CVS or Walgreens. Basically, ginseng helps boost circulation throughout your entire body. It's definitely worth it. I’d recommend having a cup every single day.

3.) Get moving.
Hit the cardio hard. Go for a run, ride your bike, go swimming—whatever. You need to do at least 30 minutes of it. It helps with that overall circulation too.

There you go. A few pointers. You've got nothing to lose, right? Give this a shot for two weeks and see if you notice any changes down there. If nothing happens, well, you'll just have to check back in with your doctor. If you need anything else, just shoot me a PM.😉
