A continuation of a long-standing, successful partnership. 🙂

Now, as for what part of the electronics is pure Renault and what belongs to Magneti Marelli... that’s likely something only Newey and a handful of his closest associates actually know.

Theoretically, it could work without a wastegate at all.

Perhaps Ferrari opted for a simpler, more reliable MGU-H paired with a classic mechanical setup. It doesn't necessarily have to be purely mechanical; it could be electronically controlled.

It is interesting, though. Only Ferrari seems to have such a massive pipe leading to the wastegate, and looking at the photos, the wastegate itself looks quite bulky.

On the Mercedes and Renault cars, that pipe is much thinner:

Christian Harris11 said:Is this some kind of error? Everyone is drawing the exhaust splitting into two parts—one looking like a turbine and the other acting like a turbine connected to the MGU-H... these illustrations look incredibly strange.

I assume you're referring to this:

The turbine is at the bottom, and the wastegate valve is up top.

It seems like Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA finally managed to knock Michael Schumacher and Ferrari off their throne, all because the F1 viewership numbers started sliding. Is that what it takes? A drop in ratings? ☕
Just like they took down Vettel and Red Bull, they’ll take down Hamilton, Rosberg, and Mercedes too. It's inevitable, isn't it? ☕

How many different cars, engines, and sets of technical regulations did Michael Schumacher have to master to rack up all those titles and wins? It makes you wonder.

With this season's drastic shift in technical regulations, Lewis Hamilton has managed to snag a win and is now firmly on track to secure his second title.

Vettel? Even Adrian Newey couldn't save him now.

And in this race...
While Vettel struggles to hold onto fifth or sixth place after starting on the front row—fighting a Ferrari that feels half-broken—Ricciardo is simultaneously climbing his way onto the podium. Faster and younger. Is this the reality of the race?
Jacob White49 said:Just watch Alonso’s Sky interview right after the race... he says exactly what RW meant about stalling.

I know what he's saying. I know what rear wing stalling entails.

But why bother explaining all that when Sebastian Vettel is simply better through the corners?
Jacob White49 said:I suspect Leslie Jawad was watching F1 for the very first time this past Sunday. Fast through the corners? Well, obviously. But he can thank Adrian Newey for that, not himself. I mean, they don't call Vettel a four-time champion for nothing. And if anyone’s struggling with rear wing stalling, common sense dictates the car is going to be slower in the turns. "But everyone is running Pirellis," people say. Sure, everyone is, but unless you were actually watching the race on Sunday, you'd know the ideal lifespan for those Pirelli tires is about eleven and a half laps.

Rear wing stalling.
Now you're overdoing it too.

Vettel handles corners better. Period.
Good grief, man!

😂

Yeah, pretty surprising regarding stormybadger8. 😍

That’s why I heard two distinct impacts.

Exactly, darkmarlin16.

By the way, did you put that chart together yourself?

And watching them bicker at the end? Pure gold. Sure, the maestro gets outclassed just like he does every single year, but his fan club keeps playing their tune while he conducts, and Ferrari sounds like the Titanic going down.

Still, things will improve...

In a half-functional car, racing against someone two seconds faster with nine laps' worth of fresher rubber, relying on DRS and a temporary 9.3 miles/h boost on the straight.

Yeah— routinely outmatched, if you want to call it that.

You can pretend you were actually enjoying watching the battle between Pastor Maldonado, Ricardo Zonta, Adrian Sutil, and Vergne yesterday.

Weak chamomile compared to the heroism shown by Maestrov.
Tyler Bennett5 said:What’s the point in reading all these posts about some
battle for 5th or 6th place? If anyone gets it, it's me. Who actually finds joy
in seeing their favorite driver or team scrape together a 5th or 6th place finish?

It doesn't matter what position they're fighting for.
You watch Formula 1 for those specific moments.

cosmiccyclist8 said:But he just has zero luck, season after season. I'm certain he has more skill and talent than his results show, but damn, he'll retire without ever having one single season where he truly reached his absolute potential... or even came close.

Felipe Massa was just unlucky.
He lost a championship because of other people's mistakes, and he was knocked out of races more times than he deserved.
Not to mention that collision with the FIA official in Canada back in '09.

Just bad luck. Pure bad luck.

stormybadger8 said:Aside from the fact that the Ferrari is faster than the Red Bull...
You're forgetting that Kimi is in a complete mess right now and that Ferrari is realistically the second strongest team.😁

Yeah, you can say that again.
Is Mlaen going to drop some appropriately dramatic little article with a predictably pathetic headline?
neonfox65 said:I honestly think Williams and McLaren aren't running the same engines. It feels like Williams is getting something much more competitive, while McLaren is just getting screwed over in their final year.

You guys are on the right track. Very close to the mark.
Williams could honestly build two monuments at this point.

One for Mercedes's ability to produce an engine that’s basically underpowered.
And one for McLaren's complete inability to develop their car.
Michael Diaz4 said:Seb, aka Vettel, absolutely wrecked Jalons... He just didn't have the nerves or the driving IQ to pull it off. He tried to force him out on the long straight, misjudged the move, and failed to react in time. Vettel just crushed him like it was nothing... Honestly, what a bold move... Viva Vettel...

Yeah, right.

neonpuma7 said:I'm certain Lewis Hamilton will win tomorrow. He’s just consistently better when it comes to race pace. In Monaco, he couldn't get past Barbie. In Canada, that dirty, hot air trailing behind Barbie wrecked his brakes. Austria was too far out of reach. At Silverstone, overtaking is actually possible. It's pretty clear to me.

I'm so sure about it that I put down $67🙂

Money's gone for nothing.
You'd have been better off spending that cash on some prime brisket from the butcher. There's a sale at Walmart $13 per pound.

Expert. 🙂

John Thomas8 said:What are you talking about? What disqualifications?
If you actually follow Formula 1, you would have seen this already happen this year. Not exactly the same way, but even worse—a team from the back of the grid lined up slightly wrong and they got hit with a 5-second stop & go. So, the rule applies basically the same way to everyone...

And besides, TBF is our local Expert. 🙂
darkmarlin16 said:I think the stewards influenced those comments from Fernando and Vettel.

Actually, they didn't. 😁

Fernando explained things even more clearly later on. They were actually considering a retirement. The battery had completely died, and because of issues with the rear wing, he was told to take certain fast corners a bit slower.
Looks like Maestro is masterfully trolling Fraud at the end of the first DRS zone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bark, bark. 🙂

Lewis Hamilton is handling this on a fast track. ☕
