Nah, I don't think so. That’s not really the point: it just lowers the risk of certain HPV strains. It’s like saying we give kids a hepatitis b shot just so they can go out and do drugs.

But hey, it doesn't protect them from other HPV types, HIV, or any other STDs... not to mention unplanned pregnancies, I guess.

And they get it at that age because you've gotta get it done BEFORE they, uh, start doing that stuff.

The reason is simple: if I can lower their risk of cervical cancer, I'm doing it.

Look, every vaccine or medication comes with side effects. You just have to stay informed and weigh the options. This whole thing about x kids dying from vaccine side effects doesn't really tell me much. Out of how many vaccinated people? And which of those cases are actually linked to the shot? Just because someone dies while taking a drug or a vaccine, it has to be reported—but that doesn't mean they died *because* of the drug. You could die from pneumonia while taking an antibiotic, but that doesn't mean the antibiotic killed you.

Vaccinating a kid doesn't mean they don't need protection during sex later on, and it certainly doesn't mean they're going to be out there having unprotected sex constantly. It just means the risk of cervical cancer from certain types of HPV is lowered.

My sisters even got the hepatitis b vaccine back before it was part of the standard schedule. I just think the benefits outweigh the risks in those cases.
But, for example, I wouldn't vaccinate my kid against chickenpox. Or hepatitis A. I'm just saying this to clarify that I'm not blindly pro-vaccine for everything. As a parent, I weigh the pros and cons.

But when it comes to the HPV vaccine, I don't have any doubts.

And regarding curing HPV with homeopathic remedies, I'll believe that when I see actual data comparing a homeopathy group to a placebo group—and whether there's a statistically significant difference. As it stands, some people recover... yeah, some people just recover spontaneously.

Just give the nurse at Mercy Hospital a heads-up and she'll get everything sorted for you, then you can just go ahead and start your tour.
