So, I just found out the exam is going to be $100 plus 6 sessions of Rhinolight $600, which brings the total to $700.
If anyone else here has gone through this treatment, I’d love to hear your story—did you actually find it helpful?
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
So, my doctor mentioned yesterday that they finally have some new tablets in stock that are supposed to be absolute game-changers for dealing with hemorrhoid issues.
She just couldn't wrap her head around the name.
They cost about... $43So, I'm looking at a 7-day treatment plan.
It’s not Pilex, and it’s definitely not Detralex.
These tablets don't require a prescription. I actually checked with the local Walgreens—they're open 24/7—but they told me they don't carry anything quite like that at that price point.
Has anyone heard anything about new hemorrhoid tablets hitting the pharmacy shelves lately?
I feel like I’ve exhausted pretty much every possible way to deal with this chronic sinus inflammation. I've cycled through endless supplements, sprays, and everything else under the sun.
After getting a sinus CT scan, doctors at a major hospital in New York City told me that endoscopic surgery is basically my only real option. They even warned me that symptoms could just come crawling back after the procedure, which apparently happens to most people anyway.
I'm actually considering trying Low-Level Laser Therapy because the idea of going under the knife is pretty daunting, but I have to admit I'm a little skeptical too. Part of me worries it might just be another expensive way to part with my money.
Has anyone here actually gone through a session with biolaser, or does anyone know someone who has had success with this kind of therapy?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I’m on the hunt for a new primary care doctor through my insurance provider. I really just want someone who’s a decent human being—someone polite, attentive, and willing to actually listen. It’s important to me that they take symptoms seriously instead of just brushing them off. My sister had this previous doctor who would basically tell her every single time she showed up with an issue that it was "just a virus" and would clear itself up. That's definitely not what I'm looking for.
If anyone happens to know a great physician, please drop their name and phone number if you have it. I’d love to give them a call and see if they’re currently accepting new patients.
Thanks so much in advance!
Just wanted to breathe some life back into this thread! Has anyone else here actually heard about this stuff or maybe even tried out the treatments?
I’m getting this done at Dr. Ivica Klapan’s office over in New York City.
They told me a package of 10 treatments would run me about $233.
Wait, you mean nobody has actually heard of this bio-laser yet?
A few months back, I caught this segment on TV about using bio-lasers at a private ENT clinic. Apparently, it’s the latest way they’re treating nasal and sinus mucosa over here, similar to methods that have been around for a while in more advanced medical circles.
The report mentioned it really helps after just a few sessions, and they even interviewed some patients who swore by it.
The funny thing is, my primary care doctor hasn't heard a single word about it.
If anyone out there knows anything at all about this, please let me know!
CT vs. MRI: Which one do I need? in Health ·
Last year, when I needed a CT scan at Mayo Clinic, the wait was about 10 to 15 days. Honestly, for that kind of imaging, that doesn't seem too bad. It might be worth giving them a quick ring just to check their current schedule. If you can't snag an appointment at those two hospitals within the month, I’d say go ahead and call every single hospital across Washington, D.C. and the District of Columbia.
It feels like just yesterday—maybe ten or fifteen years ago—that fresh milk would only stay good for about two days. Fast forward to today, and that exact same milk stays fresh for over a week. Even yogurt has changed; it used to last maybe a week, but now you see containers that stay good for three weeks or even longer.
Does anyone know what's actually going on here? Is it because they're adding additives, or has the processing itself changed enough to jump those expiration dates up several times over?

Grab your medical files and switch over to a different doctor—someone who isn't stingy with those referrals. That’s your right! Before you make the jump, definitely ask around. Talk to your family, friends, relatives, or even neighbors to see what they think of their primary care physicians. You pay into Medicare every single month, so you shouldn't have to shell out extra cash for private clinics just to get basic care. Honestly, trust me on this: there are some incredible doctors working at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Mercury, and the Sister of Mercy.
If you're really set on going private, besides Dr. Ivica Klapan's office on Broadway, I'd also suggest looking into Dr. Mladen Dobrović over near Zelinski. I can't remember his exact street address, but you should be able to find it easily with a quick search online.
Otolaryngologist recommendations? in Health ·
I finally had my tonsils out, but the waitlist was looking like a solid 3-4 week ordeal. Luckily, I’ve got a cousin who’s a doctor over at the Salisbury orthopedic wing, so he managed to squeeze me in with this specialist in just two days. She only holds clinic on Tuesdays, though. Now my sinuses are acting up, so I'm heading over to Mercury—I really don't want to bother my cousin with this, and honestly, I just can't deal with the hassle of booking an appointment right now. Usually, I'd just go see Antun Bačić; he's a younger doctor and honestly just a great guy who takes the time to explain everything. He even gave Borčić a call to have him take a look at me too.

I think they moved everything from Salisbury over to the Rib. From what I heard, there’s just one tiny section still hanging out at Salisbury. If you need someone, Duška Markov glavaš is hands down the best ENT out there. She was the one who finally caught my chronic tonsillitis and performed my surgery. Before her, I had three different specialists look at me, and none of them even mentioned an operation. I was running fevers for six months straight before she stepped in, but since the surgery three years ago, I've only dealt with one sore throat. You definitely have to book ahead with them, though.
Well, you can find some great doctors over at Mercury, and they don't make you wait forever for an appointment. Borčić is a solid doctor there, and the head of the department, Ante Munitić, is great too.
Butt acne/breakouts in Health ·
I remember seeing a thread titled something like "A pimple in an awkward place," and yeah, people were definitely talking about breakouts on their butts. If you dig through the old posts, you'll see what everyone was saying. Honestly, if all those drugstore creams and lotions aren't doing the trick, just go see a doctor. A dermatologist can actually sort this out for you. It might even be happening because your skin stays covered up and can't breathe down there, especially if you're wearing synthetic underwear too often.

I can't recall the exact name of the tablets, but I know they exist because I took some a few years back to deal with some itchy, stinging skin issues.
Dermatologists definitely know about them, and probably your regular GP too. They might be Claritin, but I can't say for sure.
Butt acne/breakouts in Health ·
These are basically your go-to tablets for whenever you're dealing with itching or that annoying stinging sensation anywhere on your body if those symptoms pop up.

You just go see a doctor and tell them what's going on. They'll usually prescribe some kind of cream or maybe some pills.
I deal with those breakouts all through the summer. It’s just my stomach and chest that stay clear.
My dermatologist actually told me that this is just how my skin type works.
Maybe check with the hospital in San Francisco where he got his diagnosis to see if they’d actually refer him to a small town, USA.
I don't think there should be any issues getting him into that hospital legally if he has a referral.
A ton of people from all over the US travel there for treatment.
Which painkiller should I use? in Health ·
First things first, you really ought to check in with a pharmacist after taking Voltaren to see which pain reliever is safe to mix in without causing any nasty interactions. You could try bumping up your Voltaren dose, but if that doesn't cut it, you should definitely ask about using Ketoral or Knavon. I can tell your pain is pretty brutal, and honestly, getting an injection might be your best bet here.
It lasts for a full month if there’s an expiration date printed at the bottom. If you don't see one, just assume it's good through the end of the year.
