Dealing with chronic stress in Health ·
Thanks for sharing your story and for the kind words. The issue is my job won't let me use , so I'm looking for a natural alternative. I dealt with similar issues back in 2013 and managed to beat them on my own without medication or professional help. But this recent bout of stress brought everything back, maybe even harder than before..

That kind of job doesn't exist. I assume you mean you don't want it on your permanent record? Just go to a private clinic and buy your prescription privately. You didn't solve the problem in 2013, so you should probably realize why. Anxiety, depression, and stress aren't things you fix with herbal remedies; they require consistent therapy and medication. You can't do it without help, and if you try, things will just get worse. Eventually, you won't even care about the "job restrictions" because you'll be in survival mode, you know?

Hey everyone, I’m just getting ready for my beach trip... I have two swimsuits in size 14/16. If anyone needs the details, just shoot me a DM.

I just placed my first order from ASOS and I am honestly blown away. I picked up a jacket, and their "size advisor" got it perfectly right. You don't just plug in your height and weight; they actually ask about your body shape and all that stuff too. I snagged this coat for only £35, which is a steal. I wouldn't find anything remotely close to this quality at any local boutique for less than $167.

Size 50/52.

On another note—I have an extra belt I don't need (it goes up to size 54). It’s thin, white, and lacquered. If anyone wants it, just shoot me a message.

I’ve mentioned this before... My order from Yours finally showed up after three weeks.

I have two coupons for 20% off your total purchase at NKD in Canada. The discount is valid from September 17th to the 19th, provided you spend at least 10 euros.

If anyone wants them, I'm selling them for $5.00 and will ship via standard mail at my own expense.

Honestly, I really recommend this shop, especially if you're looking for plus-size options or kids' clothes. It's affordable, the quality is good, and they frequently run sales.

For yours...

I can't figure out if it comes by mail or via delivery...

I remember Kleider Bauer having amazing clothes up to maybe a US size 12, or even a 14, but mostly smaller sizes. Now, don't kill me, I can't recall the exact brand, but the shops were practically empty even though the pieces were gorgeous—everything from beachwear to office attire to wedding guest outfits. That says a lot 🙂. For the most part, everything was at least half off. Peek had some great deals for slim builds too, and C&A was decent, while Adler had excellent selections from brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Esprit. Most of the stores I’ve visited had a solid range of smaller sizes. Honestly, I can't quite remember where that specific shop was or what I bought there. Since I usually stick to stores that *should* carry plus-size options, it might be that those specific items aren't in the plus-size sections, so we just aren't seeing the same stuff. For instance, I never step foot in New Yorker. They simply don't have my size. So, when I talk about availability, I'm talking about the stores I actually shop at for myself. They happen to carry "slim" stock too, but if a store doesn't fit me, I don't even bother walking in.

Jeremy Cox49 said:Hey Lisa Myers, thanks for getting back to me so fast. Our plans totally flipped on us—we ended up bolting off to Austin last Friday instead.
I hit up a ton of shops over in the suburbs; I really went for it. 😁
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the size availability—I’m usually hunting for 16, 18, or 20 depending on how things fit—but the selection itself? Pretty meh, regardless of size. And the discounts are just average, pretty much what we see back home.
I picked up a bunch of basics and essentials—Primark is basically their holy grail, snagged a whole bag of tees, undies, and socks for maybe thirty bucks—grabbed some pants and a shirt at C&A (stuff you could find anywhere stateside), a top at H&M (where the selection is mostly total trash), and a plain tee at Adler (pricey, but okay if there's a sale, though the style is super dated, kind of like what Victora mentioned). Bonita is also geared toward the 40+ crowd, but I didn't even step inside because the prices in the window looked insane for such basic stuff. As for sOliver, Tom Taylor, and Esprit? The selection is honestly underwhelming. I poked around the shoe section too—you might actually find something higher quality than what we have here.
All in all, most of this stuff is available back home for similar prices, so I'm questioning if the trip was even worth the gas. It's definitely not what it used to be 😒.
Lisa Myers, if you're feeling up to it, drop your thoughts after the 13th. 😉

It’s basically just like yours. 🤣I picked up two pairs of slippers for my kid. One pair was like cheap Uggs for about $3, and the other "normal" pair was around $8. I’m not expecting either to last longer than a few wears, but honestly, I don't care. I also grabbed a 4-pack of underwear for $8. At those prices, I might as well just hit up a Target instead. That’s the Primark experience for you. Truthfully, I wouldn't have even stepped foot in there if I hadn't been helping a friend pick out boots. I can't stand the chaos in those stores. I actually had a panic attack.
Peek is a huge step down from what I remember being available two years ago back in the city. It just doesn't hold a candle to the selection they used to have.
H&M is a classic. Honestly, they probably have more variety here in the States than they do back home. I actually went ahead and asked their chat support if they even carry a plus-size section. Of course they said yes—they claim to have everything. But once I actually stepped foot in the store, I realized their idea of "plus size" is basically just an L or an XL. Real funny. 🙄.
Check out the fits at Gap and Old Navy. Grab two shirts for looking sharp at Target and Kohl's.

It’s not worth it. He calls it an "excursion," but let’s be real...

It’s a total steal for anyone who isn't looking to bulk up. You can find so many things for dirt cheap. Even the high-end designer stuff gets marked down to pretty average prices. Honestly, grabbing those name brands at the thrift stores is such a smart move.

Basically—yeah.

I honestly don't get how people from places like Buffalo or Pittsburgh bother traveling all the way to Primark. They end up hauling two or three full carts of clothes back home. Does anyone actually have a logical explanation for this? I mean, given how low their prices are, you'd think it would be worth it, but the travel alone seems insane.

Help, I have a size 14/16 dress listed in the ads and I just can't get rid of it. Please help me out 🙂. Honestly, I dropped the price way too low. It originally cost much more than this, and it's high-quality American retail, not some cheap stuff from overseas...

That’s my exact plan. I always hit up Peek. As for plus-size options—H&M is my go-to. Last year, I asked if they carried plus sizes at the Sears location. They told me yes. I show up there, and nothing. Now I’m asking customer service again, and they swear they have stock in both Sears and West. Well, we'll see about that.

I've never heard of Bonita, so I clearly missed out. And I could never find anything at Adler; it feels too much like Ulta or those high-end boutique styles, which usually end up being way too expensive. I can't remember exactly what size you are, but Peek is fantastic for anyone up to a size 12.

P.S. Are you heading there on the 13th? 🤣

lonemason45 said:West was still seeing a surplus this spring, but I’ll have a better read on where things stand in two weeks. I’m 48, and honestly, shopping at Primark is a total toss-up for me—maybe an 18 or 20 out of 100. It’s basically a lottery; you can walk in during the morning and find something decent, then by the afternoon, the selection just goes to hell. And don't even get me started on their jeans. I have never, ever found a pair that actually fit. The cuts are absolute disasters. If I want actual denim, I’m heading straight to H&M instead.

Is there any news regarding H&M's plus-size selection?

I don't feel any smarter after emailing both West and Seiersberg. Their responses were useless. They told me that Seiersberg carries Ulla Popken—they completely missed my point because I specifically asked which stores carry sizes 18 and up. I already know Adler and Peek & Cloppenburg carry some items. But they said nothing about H&M. I asked West too, and they just sent me a link to their website and suggested I call individual stores to ask myself. 🙄

Primark doesn't carry anything in my size—though we don't actually know what number this forum lady needs.

Thanks for the heads-up about West—are you absolutely sure? I really don't want to make a wasted trip.

As for Vögele—you're right, I totally forgot. I don't go there much anymore because they're way too pricey. And if I remember correctly, their jeans were always shaped like carrots.

Edit: Okay, I just sent inquiries to both West and Seiersberg. We might be able to make a smarter move once they reply about where to find plus-size clothes, especially pants. Though, one time they told me the H&M in Seiersberg had a plus-size section, I show up, and—nothing. It wasn't there.
Fashion for curvy girls in Fashion ·
Based on my own experience—not once. It all depends on what size you’re looking for. I’m a size 18/20 and I have never been able to buy pants there at all. H&M doesn't even carry a plus-size section, and the other stores just don't stock those larger sizes.

Honestly, I’m not even sure if they have an "off-season" for these right now. I don't remember seeing them lately, but I'd bet they do. Just don't come complaining to me later—I warned you! 🙂.

By the way, these are the only undershirts I own that actually stay long enough even after a wash.

I usually just grab camisole tops from New York & Co. to use as undershirts. Honestly, they work way better than the ones from Target. They definitely have them in stock right now, and you can sometimes find them for cheap $3.00 if there's a sale. They come in every color... they have a bit less cotton and more spandex, but they're great. Plus, you can adjust the straps. Then again, Target carries something similar too 🤣.

Honestly, I have to agree with what Dana Wilson wrote.

Has anyone been to the plus-size section at the West Gate mall recently? Is there actually anything in stock?

frozenfox40 said:Can someone recommend a shop in Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York that carries formal wear for plus-size women without the astronomical price tags? My daughter is getting married soon 🙂
Thanks!

I actually have a dress in size 18/20 that I only wore once to a wedding. It's listed on Marketplace, but if you're interested, shoot me a DM and I'll send you the link 😉.

I know you probably want something brand new, but hey—this one is black, a total classic, and maybe works for another occasion too....

Otherwise, I can give you a solid recommendation: Nordstrom. I always find modern yet classic dresses there. I call them "reliable staples." That's where I bought this very dress, too. I go there for other clothes when I want quality at a reasonable price—like coats, for instance. I don't bother with H&M or similar stores; I always head to Nordstrom.

But honestly, you might find something at Target too, provided they have a plus-size section in your local store.

If anyone’s going to figure this out, they’ll know better than most.

My favorite pair of jeans is totally shredded between the thighs. I absolutely love them. I picked up some iron-on patches from CVS, but I’m worried. They look obvious from the back, and they definitely show when I sit down—and I tend to sit with my legs wide, like a cowboy. I was thinking about buying some matching denim fabric and taking it to a tailor to have them sew a patch right along the inner seam, just above the crotch area, to blend it all together. Maybe use the exact same wash? Help!
