For a woman wearing a size 14/16, standing about 5'7", with calves that are pretty much average—not too thick—which would be the better pick here:
or
Or if you have any other suggestions from these sites:
Not the stretchy spandex kind. Curvier women need firmer fabrics. I honestly don't get why they even bother making those elastic dresses in the first place🙂.
I think I saw someone mention on another thread that starting September 1st, we’re required to see doctors within our own county's hospital system? Is that actually true? Because I have a neurologist in the next county over—and honestly, she is just way better than any doctor I could find in my own area....
I absolutely love a good clearance sale and all the chaos that comes with it....🤣. I hit up Alpine and snagged some shorts that used to be $167. They were half off! Everything was marked down by 50%. Then I went to Lantei and picked up a bra, two Galeb camisoles, and a Walter shirt—supposedly "higher quality" stuff. Since they’re closing down, everything was 40% off. I walked away with all four items for just $83.
I finally picked up some size 14 jeans at Target today for $50, and I’m actually thrilled. I finally have enough decent denim in my closet.
What's your biggest wardrobe struggle? For me, it’s bras. Finding my size is an absolute nightmare. It's impossible. Either they only carry those old-fashioned, pointy Victoria's Secret styles—which I absolutely hate—or I see a perfect 105D/E in some catalog, but when I go to buy it, it's always "out of stock." It is so frustrating I could pull my hair out! 🙂
You still get free shipping if you order today. And honestly, I am so done with them. They list a 105 band size in their offers, but then they don't have a single bra in that size?!

It was just for pain relief, if I recall correctly—specifically ibuprofen. And obviously, we aren't talking about standard doses or typical treatment timelines here.
I remember watching this one documentary from the UK... maybe about a year ago. It was actually pretty fascinating.
Edit: Even on the ibuprofen, it mentions increased cardiovascular risks if you take high doses over a long period.
I remember watching this documentary about this exact topic. The main takeaway was that heart attacks are often triggered by overusing painkillers, especially since people are constantly popping them to deal with injuries and chronic pain.
Dana Wilson said:So, I picked up some jeans at Target, and honestly? I’m kind of obsessed. Usually, I’m rocking a size 14, but these are a 12—and I’ll be real, once they stretch out from wearing them all day, I might even be able to squeeze into a 10. Though, knowing how denim works, once they hit the laundry, they'll probably snap right back to being a 12. Let me dig through my camera roll for a pic. Anyway, they are $67, and I snagged them while they were doing a massive 25% off sale. Long story short: highly recommend! 👍
edit: I can't find the exact link on their site anymore, but they’re super similar to the Sally straight leg ones. Basically, if you’re always struggling because the waist feels "too huge" in other brands, or if you have those long, lean legs and love wearing your jeans a bit low on the hips, these are your holy grail. 😉 http://www.target.com/p/womens-denim-jeans/101558/1
You can't realistically jump from a 16 to a 12. If those 12s fit you well—or even feel big—you aren't dealing with an eight-size gap. Unless you’re talking about European sizing, where a 52 is actually more like a 16. I wear a 14, and these are the same size I wear for everything else. To be honest, I hate mine. There's way too much "air" around my waist because they stretch out so much, yet I couldn't even button the smaller size when I tried it. I bought the bootcut version in that smaller size once, too, but they don't carry them anymore. They had them when the store first opened, but they're gone now.
What do you guys think? Is there any chance I could charm a sales clerk into "finding" them at another branch? Maybe they're still sitting on a shelf somewhere.
And honestly—following the instructions is the smartest move. Check the pills you're taking and see which medications they interact with. Then, look at the active ingredient in these allergy tablets and check if it’s listed in those interactions. If it isn't (and frankly, this is the first time I've ever heard of allergy meds interacting with birth control—I've used this exact combo for years), then there’s no interaction. Don't believe everything you hear or read. All I ever did was follow a pharmacist's advice: never take any other pill at the same time as my birth control. I always wait at least an hour between them. Whether that actually matters or not, I have no clue—I'm not a pharmacist—but that’s what I stuck to.
I’m not so sure it’s actually caused by pads. About ten years ago, I dealt with constant infections. It took me forever to realize they only happened when I was seeing this one specific guy, blah, blah... I won't go into all that. These days, I use various products—pads, tampons, liners—but I don't wear all three at once 🤣. I just pick whatever fits based on whether I'm on my period or not. But I always have "something" in there. Except at night, when I skip the liners and just use a tampon or a regular pad if I'm menstruating, obviously. That means "my" 🤣 gets some air only at night, and I never deal with infections or yeast issues. So, I’m not really buying the theory that it's solely because of the products. Maybe it’s synthetic underwear or poor hygiene habits—not being dirty, just using the wrong products... hm?
Oh please, I thought we were talking about combination therapies. I don't really follow these newer generations, but the rule stays the same—you can't let the break (or placebo period, whatever you call it) drag on too long.
In this case, I’m not sure what advice to give you. Maybe another woman on this forum will know more. Honestly, why didn't you look into this before starting the experiment? All I can tell you is stay cautious with the next entire pack, whenever you start it.
Donna Hill6 said:Thanks so much for the quick reply! :3 But no, I've been on my break since Monday—today is actually day 6. I didn't want to deal with bleeding over the weekend, so I decided to shift things around, but now I'm totally lost on what to do. :/
Wait—if Saturday was your first day, how can your last day be Sunday if you started your break on Monday? It should have been Friday. 🤔
Look, if you want to stay protected, the only way to go is to SHORTEN the break. Based on what happened Saturday, you should have only taken Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off, then started the next pack on Wednesday. If you wait until a Wednesday a week later, you aren't covered for those first TWO weeks. You aren't covered for those extra days you added to the break either.
So, based on what you wrote, I'm assuming you’re on day 8 of your break right now and thinking about waiting another 5 days to start. In that case, you won't be protected after tomorrow—not until you finish this new pack plus another two weeks. I wouldn't recommend doing that since you really should have started last Wednesday. You'll end up needing backup protection for almost three weeks.
Was I clear enough? If not, just say so and we can try explaining it one more time. 🤣.
bluesurfer6 said:I just skimmed through this thread, and I’ve come to a conclusion. Does this mean anyone and everyone working at a place like Mayo Clinic can just pull up my private medical records on their computer whenever they feel like it?!!! 😲 😲
Not right now. But there are plans to change that. For the time being, any low-level clerk at the hospital can see your entire medical history.
melloworca6 said:Lisa Myers probably needs to invest some cash into that, but money is tight. 🤷 It honestly feels like things were better back when everything was on paper. Not everyone had instant access, and at least you didn't have to worry about leaving your documents sitting around someone else's house.
