You can find good jeans at Takkou, up to a size 22. For those "bootcut" styles, check out C&A—they have up to a size 16 in the regular section and larger sizes in their plus-size department. They carry jeans too, but I wasn't really impressed with theirs.
- These are from my personal home collection. They’ve been played, but they aren't damaged at all. Everything is in great shape.
Price: $10 each or $50 for the pair +Standard USPS shipping is $1.75, or $2.25 for both +Priority Mail is $3.25, or $4.00 for both +Local pickup via FedEx $3.25
It’s obvious to me... I’m just saying—you can't wear a shapewear garment under a swimsuit or anything like that. Especially not on your legs. And look at these legs in the photos, they are absolutely perfect 🤣.
By the way, I admire how you can actually stand wearing that. I couldn't do it. I would lose my mind from the heat, especially in the summer. Plus, shapewear isn't magic. And like I said before—there is no such thing as leg shapewear... honestly, there isn't even stuff for upper arms... maybe for a double chin, but that's about it...
Sure, there are some pretty pieces here. Though, if you ask me, some of these women look way too heavy and definitely over 50. But there’s another issue bothering me. On the model, it looks great. In reality, most of this stuff will fit us totally differently. Especially those tight bits around the waist and arms—we all have rolls, and it would look terrible.
I didn't "start" dyeing my hair until I hit 30—mostly because I knew once I started, there was no turning back. By then, the gray had taken over so much that I honestly couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror. Now, I try to keep it to a minimum. I just touch up my roots and occasionally dye the full length to keep things even.
The gray hairs actually showed up back when I was in college. It runs in my family, definitely on my mom's side.
I have a close friend who is about 95% gray, even though she’s only 40. She’s been rocking that silver look for the last decade or so, trying to go "natural." To be honest, I can't help but feel like she's become a bit of an eccentric since she stopped dyeing it. She works in a client-facing role, too, so I wonder what her customers think—they probably assume she's unwell or something.🤷 Her hair is super long, and frankly, it looks terrible.
At the end of the day, you just have to decide for yourself where the line is—when you feel like you've gone "too gray" for your own comfort.
crimsonviper14 said:Just a quick tip for women dealing with larger bra sizes: those bigger models from Target are actually great. I picked up a black one and a white one in a 95c today and they fit me perfectly. For just $15, they're honestly a steal, plus they feel sturdy and comfortable. I think they had some 85d to 95d sizes on sale last week too, but I found a few left in my stash today.
I agree. Back when I was in that size range 🙈—I used to shop at Walmart. They were great, honestly. Same goes for the pajamas and other basics...
crimsonviper14 said:Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll keep an eye on Monsoon next time I'm out shopping. 😉
I haven't even seen that store. Is Monsoon its own shop or is that clothing line inside another department store?
You definitely should give it a shot... But we always end up back at this point: it's incredibly hard to give advice blindly without seeing a photo of the lady asking.

I'm more interested in how various schools of psychology would interpret this specific behavior.
Yeah, it's clear.
But it's also wrong—use "personality," not "character." We left that old-fashioned way of thinking back in the old days.
So who’s actually playing the role of the hall monitor now? 🙂
It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Someone will scroll through this thread and just be totally baffled by what these actresses are even doing here...
Jeffrey Watson12 said:Forget the bolero; seriously, just ditch that idea. It feels a bit too "grandma" for what you're going for.😁 🤣
I honestly have no idea who came up with that absolute disaster of a piece of clothing! 🤣
I don't care what anyone says about the recent changes to the local zoning laws. They are absolutely terrible for small businesses. It’s a mess. We need more transparency from the City Council immediately. They can't just push these things through without asking us first. It feels like they aren't listening to the people who actually live and work here. We have to stay organized. If we don't speak up now, things will only get worse. Let's get moving on this. kaže: Why not? 🤷
Those high heels look incredible.
You posted two skinny girls and one woman I’m pretty sure isn't short. That forum user is only 5'2".
Anyone standing at 5'2"—whether you're skinny or curvy—should steer clear of midi dresses that hit below the knee. And those calf-length ones? No way! Honestly, even maxi dresses might be a struggle, though they can work if you're careful. In my opinion, the sweet spot is just above the knee or slightly below it. Also, since you're on the shorter side, stay away from super flowy, voluminous styles. They’ll just make you look wider. Stick to something that follows your silhouette, but don't go tight.
I actually had to get my weight checked by a nurse three separate times because she just didn't believe me. I think that says enough 😂 — about the fact that I'm carrying some extra pounds, but also how she clearly didn't think it was quite that bad.
That’s why I say, when girls ask, "Would this look good on me?" or "Is this flattering?"... it's all just guesswork.
What do you think about this dress for someone wearing a US size 22?
It’ll look fine as long as you aren't extremely petite.
Jeffrey Watson12 said:Personally, I think the first and second options are quite lovely—though the second one is definitely my favorite.
As for the third and fourth, they just aren't really my style at all.
That last one seems pretty decent too.🙂
We are on the same page 🤣.
Ladies, guessing like this is incredibly hard. Not every woman wearing a size 16 has the same body type. Plus, nobody mentioned their height, which matters just as much. Take me, for example. I don't actually look as "heavy" as the scale says I am. I know plenty of women who weigh exactly what I do but look much heavier because of where they carry their weight. It all depends on your build.
crimsonviper14 said:I also grabbed some jeans at the Takkou in the Arena Mall this past Sunday. Size 50, originally $350, then marked down to $250. They fit great so I decided to go for it, but when I got to the register, the cashier tells me they were actually marked down even further and charged me $50. 😲 I was fully prepared to pay the $250 that was on the tag, though. Mine are a straight cut with some kind of fantastic stretch. I guess I might head back to Takkou to see if any other styles are part of this sale... looks like a new round of markdowns just started.
I honestly think you bought the exact same ones I’m selling in this ad. Just check my signature—they're straight cut.
Picked up some denim jeans from Target the other day (not the ones I’m selling in my ad), bootcut style, and they even came with a belt—marked down from $117 to $83. I’ve had my eye on them for a year now. So glad they didn't sell out of my size. I am seriously happy with this find.
Lisa Myers hit H&M for the first time today. I honestly thought they wouldn't have my size in stock... but guess what? They actually did. But seriously—holy crap—everything there is so see-through! What am I supposed to do with clothes like that?!
I'm selling these original CDs at an absolute steal:
1. Faith Hill: Breathe
2. Nelly Furtado: Loose
- These come straight from my personal home collection. They’ve been played, but they are in perfect shape—no scratches or anything like that.
Price: $6.75 for one, or grab both for just 30 + Standard shipping is $1.75, or $2.25 for the pair + Tracked shipping is $3.25, or $4.00 for both + USPS $3.25
Robin Fox2 said:I sent a certified letter in an envelope on December 24th, and I still haven't received the return receipt. Should I be worried, or is this normal? It was sent from Washington, D.C. to Washington, D.C.
It’s not exactly normal. In my experience, it arrived in the same city within three business days. Mind you, I live in a tiny town... so who knows. I can't tell you for sure—but I remember sending things to NYC from a small town once where so much time passed that I completely forgot about it.
As for News Corp, using them for heavier or more valuable packages is still very much worth it. For example, if you ship a package up to 2kg through the USPS, the price starts at least at $6.00 for a value up to $33. As the weight or value goes up, the price climbs. That isn't the case with News Corp. Honestly, they even took the stress out of packaging for me. For smaller, low-value items that people usually send via certified mail, the USPS is probably your better bet.
Someone told me that the 30-day period stays "in the system." That means it applies to both the printed version you get right there on-site and the e-manual.
