Karen Wells17 said:I honestly hate getting worked up, but every single time... it’s just the most uncomfortable exam imaginable—I'd trade one OBGYN for five dentists in a heartbeat, right away! 🤣 The anxiety hits me even harder because I'm terrified something might actually be wrong—then I'd be stuck on some endless pilgrimage through specialists, and that's... yeah. It isn't about being shy, either—I don't care if my doctor is male; in fact, I've had much better experiences with men—though I only saw one female doctor before switching to a male provider, who I've stuck with, but that's beside the point... What I mean is, while I'm on that table, I feel like I'm having a heart attack—my pulse is racing—yet somehow I perform miracles for the Pope... not intentionally, mind you... I just instinctively tense up so hard that I practically launch all those medical instruments across the room like they're being fired from a cannon—I actually hit a guy in the head once, seriously!!!😂🤣
My mom was with me that time, and once I finally got off the table, we were all dying laughing... it was like a catapult effect. And then, during my appointment just yesterday, my doctor suggested a Pap smear since it's been forever, and I was already a complete wreck from pure panic... Honestly, I think I need a psychiatrist... I just can't relax. It feels stupid because—as I said—I haven't had any bad experiences myself; I've only witnessed some pretty intense situations and treatments with friends that were truly shocking... They went through hell, almost in a coma... so now, even I start shaking so hard my legs tremble when I'm on that table... Any advice? 🤷 It's just ridiculous to me that I haven't had any traumatic experiences personally, yet I'm still freaking out like a nervous wreck, yeah...🙄

I don't know what there is to be afraid of—just imagine going in, ☕ and that's it... I went to my first male OBGYN at sixteen and wasn't scared at all... It's normal and necessary, and just because others go through certain things doesn't mean you will too... Think positively, stay optimistic, and it'll be much easier... 👍
