Alright, so I've got a small network running five computers. Three of them are on Windows 7, and two are still stuck on Windows XP. On one of the Windows 7 machines, I’ve got a printer installed, and the other two Windows 7 rigs see it and share it just fine. But here's the headache: those two XP machines can't see the printer at all, even though they're properly mapped. Any ideas? Help me out here.
What does "gut pain" actually feel like? in Health ·
I’ve been dealing with this weird sensation on the left side of my abdomen for about six months now—just this strange pressure and bloating. I wouldn't exactly call it pain, if that makes sense. I went in for an ultrasound a while back, and the doctor told me everything looked fine, though they did mention my small intestine seemed a bit unusually positioned, likely due to excessive anxiety. I’ve tried taking some probiotics; sometimes things settle down, but then the feeling just comes crawling back... and honestly, my life is still pretty high-stress. After five months of this, I’m heading back for another ultrasound and an appointment with an internist because, frankly, I’m starting to get worried.

Alright... that's a whole different ballgame then. I mean, I honestly don't even know what to say... it's a tough one to wrap your head around.

Like I’ve said before, my whole life has been shaped by dealing with this illness, but banning sick people from getting married? That’s just plain stupid to me. Growing up, my family went through some incredibly rough financial patches—we were basically struggling to keep our heads above water—but looking back, I have to admit that despite all that chaos, my parents gave me a level of support that plenty of "healthy" parents couldn't provide their kids if they tried. And I’m not talking about cash; I’m talking about those intangible things you just can't put a price tag on. When one spouse is seriously ill, whether it's mental health struggles or something else entirely, it's inevitable that the other partner is going to bear a heavy burden. But that's what marriage is: for better or for worse. We shouldn't be making exceptions now.

I’ve spent my entire life pouring everything I have into dealing with this, and honestly, my dad did the same thing. For a while, it felt like it was actually paying off because there were these stretches where Mom was doing so well that we almost forgot the illness was even there. We’d get comfortable, thinking maybe we’d finally turned a corner, but then it always comes back to haunt you. Like I said before, you learn how to fight the battle, but once I got married, I realized it isn't that simple anymore. Now I’m stuck at this crossroads where I have to make a choice: do I actually live my own life, or do I spend it constantly fighting against my mother's illness? Because right now, trying to do both feels impossible.

I’m still out here trying to make things work, and honestly, I feel like it wouldn't be too late to just step away from everything, but the economy is a mess right now and there are just too many other factors making it impossible. I've definitely had my depressive episodes, but nothing I couldn't handle. If anything, it's the hope that really kills you—that nagging idea that this illness could actually be cured. It's been years. Some days are easier than others, sure, but the condition is always there, lurking in the background.

I’m looking for anyone who’s been through the exact same thing... how do you actually deal with it? How do you even manage to function like a normal person when life is like this? My entire existence has basically been shaped by my mother's horrific illness. I can feel it leaving these deep psychological scars on both me and my dad, and honestly, the weight of it just keeps building. What’s the right way to handle this? How do you act, or even what is the "correct" way to behave when everything feels this heavy?

Look, I hear you... but honestly, my issue goes a bit deeper than just work stress. Growing up, I had plenty of reasons to be on edge, and I guess that just became my baseline. Now, it’s like a constant hum of anxiety under everything I do. On top of that, I deal with this relentless perfectionism—it's exhausting. Even when everyone else is raving about something I’ve built, all I can see is the one tiny flaw that shouldn't be there. I know... I know people who haven't dealt with this stuff probably think it sounds ridiculous or even laughable, but trust me, if I could just flip a switch and change how my brain works, I would in a heartbeat.

So here’s the thing... my job situation is basically the root of all my problems right now, mostly because I don't have one. I'm 29, and I've been working steadily since I was 20, so being unemployed feels like a massive gut punch. Honestly, back when I was actually employed, I’d get stressed out, sure, but I could always wrap my head around things and just push through the noise. But now? Every time I try to figure out my next move, I just end up spiraling in circles.

Just a bit of advice... I know getting rid of the separation is the goal, but honestly, that’s going to take some serious time. You need to focus on something small first, just enough to take the edge off those symptoms.

No... actually... I'm pretty sure you're talking about symptoms of a stomach ulcer.

I’ve been dealing with a fair amount of life complications over the last year or two, and honestly, I’ve always had a bit of a temper—the kind of quiet, simmering irritability that most people don't even notice until it's too late. But lately, things have taken a physical turn. For the past few months, I’ve been feeling this nagging pain on the left side of my abdomen. I went in for an ultrasound and they told me everything looks fine structurally, but apparently, my small intestine is pretty irritated. My digestion is a complete mess right now; basically, every time I eat anything remotely substantial, I’m sprinting to the bathroom. I rarely have a normal bowel movement these days. If anyone here has dealt with something similar, please, hit me with some advice on how to manage these symptoms. I already tried messing around with different probiotic strains, but it didn't do a damn thing for me.
Hey everyone... I just registered on the forum, so I was scrolling through a bit to figure out which group this belongs in. I did some digging to see if anyone else deals with similar stuff, and it turns out there are way more people facing this than I ever realized. So, please don't take it personally if I end up repeating something that's already been said. I'm not trying to be selfish by just venting about my own situation; I'm hoping that sharing this might help someone else going through the exact same thing. It’s a psychological matter... I didn't post in the psychology section because I view this particular struggle as one of those incurable, malignant conditions. I'm talking about my parents. My father suffers from depressive disorder, and my mother deals with a severe mental health condition—a form of schizophrenia. It's actually my mother's situation that's driving this post. Being an only child, my earliest memories are essentially a constant battle against this illness. I have to say, though, my mother is a massive fighter; she handles her struggle incredibly well. My question for anyone who has walked a similar path is: how do you handle being an only child in this position? How do you isolate yourself from the chaos without turning your back on your sick parents? I recently got married and moved 37 miles away for work. Honestly, living two separate lives—one as a husband and the other as a child—is anything but easy. And to add to the weight of it all, my wife's mother might be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis soon. All of this is taking a massive toll on us. We're young, and the weight of our parents' illnesses is absolutely crushing us. I really hope you guys understand the core of what I'm dealing with here.
