The idea that someone chooses one option over another just because they want more isn't really about consumerism; it’s much deeper than that, rooted firmly in psychology. If you decide to walk up to a checkout counter where the cashier happens to be a bit more pleasant, does that truly make you a mindless consumer? Or is it just human nature?
Then again, I suppose you’d prefer the grumpy clerk at the other register—I assume you take your cues from the DM, don't you? 🤦
You said they play on
our need for machismo, which—maybe without realizing it—suggests this is a product being sold to
us. And we, like any other product, swallowed it for psychological reasons. So, what was your psychological reason for swallowing the Ramos thing just so a handful of people could "accuse" him of acting tough by listening to some BM album once in a while?
So, Ramos is the "hotter cashier" in this analogy, I guess? 🤦
"I root for the Pep and now I'm not myself." Look, I already mentioned yesterday and the day before that you're being incredibly biased about this. A guy praises the Pep once and suddenly you can't agree with anything else he says. It's absurd. If I hadn't lived it, I wouldn't believe it. 🤦
Maybe it's just a coincidence and you happen to disagree with everything right now—it doesn't *have* to be anything (God forbid!)—but it's weird. If you really disagree, why haven't you just ignored my points? Instead, you're just going out of your way to troll every single thing I say. I'm not complaining, just observing. I'm not looking for your approval, but based on how things used to be, you'd usually just troll each other over random stuff. From what I remember, you never used to troll me just because we disagreed. Now it's just contra by default. Doesn't bother me, seriously. Just stating the fact that ever since I praised the Pep, you've been purely subjective toward everything I say. 🙂
