That's great—since you're supposedly so famous for your intuition and intellect, then 🤣

Clearly, some things just fly right over your head 😁

The fact that even some old lady going through menopause agrees with you proves I read your point perfectly. 🙂 🤣

Hellfire? 🤔
Look, I'm not insulting you; I'm just stating facts. Plastic surgery patients are plastic. Period.
Or maybe your taste just changed? 😁
How could I possibly insult you? Honestly, I'm constantly surprised you can even manage to decipher the letters on the screen. 🤣
God, you're the type of person who actually thought Chihuahuas were a highly intelligent species. 🤣

Insulting you would be pointless—it goes against any sense of basic etiquette. 🤣

Noah Fowler3 said:@Wikipedia, please, spare us your walls of text. They suffocate the thread and they're exhausting to read. You do this in the forum threads too.

No, Ashley. I didn't say the mod is bad, just that they haven't actually started working. New threads are a reflection of how a moderator operates. I started two new threads and asked if you were okay with how they were being moderated. Silence. 😬

I also provided solutions:
1. Stop the constant attacks in the chat room
2. Moderate new threads properly
3. Gradually steer old threads back on track

What exactly about those suggestions isn't constructive?

I sign off on everything said here.

The way they’re picking new moderators is definitely problematic. It feels like they're just looking for people who act exactly like them.

I'd like someone to point out exactly where we insulted the moderator, or where any of us said they should be removed or that their time shouldn't be given.

Richard Nelson84, you really stepped up your discipline once you took over moderation. Before that, we had those GIFs enabled for an entire year. That loophole is exactly why that 18+ PDF was even able to get posted. I’ll never understand why everyone just moved on from it. The explanations never added up, so honestly, I'm leaning toward believing this was your doing.

Look, please don't just go around reporting things blindly. What am I supposed to do, report 10,000 posts? Go take a look at the threads. They aren't even opened properly. Would you have left those kinds of threads open? And what is the point of having the PZK if we’re expected to report every single one of those 10,000 posts individually? 🤷

So, what's the verdict? If I write too much, I'm the problem; if I write too little, I'm also the problem?

Look, Noah, this isn't a private chat room. If you actually want to engage in a discussion, common courtesy dictates that you at least read the comments first.
The way you're acting makes it seem like anyone who doesn't echo your exact sentiment is somehow "suffocating" you.
And frankly, that would be a rather pathetic way to live.

On that note, let me ask you something: when was the last time you actually contributed something intelligent to that PDF?
When did you ever start a meaningful thread or offer a single valuable insight?
In what way has your presence actually made this forum a better place?

Lawrence Phillips said:So, I guess Louise Hay had no clue about any of that—seriously! While she was in charge, those explicit GIFs were just floating around everywhere as long as they stayed in the link, you know? Maybe she just wasn't looped in, but man, it was definitely happening during her term.🐔

Look, the moderators aren't auditing every single link—and honestly, nobody is going to jump on you just because you posted something. 😁

It really comes down to the users, primarily. 😉

Makes perfect sense, obviously.🧐

It all kicked off because someone was trying to test out how strict things are using GIFs. It’s not even about the GIFs themselves—it’s more about the principle of the thing. But hey, if the admins decide GIFs are banned (even though they weren't an issue just a little while ago), then fine, no GIFs. Period.

Honestly, my time spent having actual, constructive debates on this forum is pretty much over—mostly because there are so few people left here I can actually have a decent conversation with.
Every single thread gets absolutely spammed with trolls, hate speech, and xenophobia almost immediately... it's just exhausting. And the constant fighting? Man, it wears me down, I just don't have the energy for it anymore. I'd much rather just hop into a chat room, hash things out properly, and move on with my day.

If I could say one thing to the moderator, it would be to maybe tighten up the discipline a bit. Like, maybe steer the good discussions back on track and just shut down those vague, repetitive threads right at the start.
Maybe then the whole place might actually breathe enough for someone to *want* to write something meaningful again. Until then, I'll pass.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I'm done with this thread.

The moderation team is just getting settled in.
Constructive criticism beats destructive criticism any day of the week—there's just no comparison.

I actually respect certain people—those who make an effort despite everything. Honestly, you need a serious amount of grit to dig up a dead topic and bring it back to life like that.

Chat comments aren't actual debates—they're just side conversations happening on the fly.

It’s honestly not worth getting into an argument—but posts don't just vanish. Someone might latch onto a specific point, and before you know it, a full-blown discussion has kicked off.

You can't demand from others what you aren't capable of providing yourself.
Don't live on past glories.

It seems you find it much easier to just start a brand new thread.
Things might take a turn for the worse—that’s always a possibility—but as the author, you still hold some sway over how the forum is moderated. You can step in and suggest a change to the moderator's approach or even pull them back from being too heavy-handed if things start heading in the wrong direction.

The forum is becoming a dead PDF in way too many areas.
The only way this thing actually thrives is through an open atmosphere—something that feels like it's finally being cultivated here.
From there, it moves into the actual shaping of topics and the ensuing discussions...

Honestly, that's a rigged question. If you were running a local diner and, because some rude waitress gave you a hard time, you sent the owner a list of "better" candidates to replace her, they’d think you were losing it.
I have zero clue how the moderator selection process actually works. I don't know what the criteria are. Besides, there’s no proof that regular users' opinions even matter here, so why bother? 🤷

But hey, your posts are actually useful because they highlight the fact that administration clearly struggles with picking the right people. It's obvious—they just can't get it right. It's not on us. They just aren't capable of putting a decent person in that role. That's a pretty important takeaway too (that filing final appeals is basically pointless).

I don't find your insults toward the new mod to be particularly appropriate.
The same goes for those other little jabs you've been making in previous threads.

Look, I'll be blunt since we're all being vocal here.
I’m going to ask you the same question I posed to Lawrence Phillips.

When was the last time you actually contributed something tangible to this forum?
When did you participate in a meaningful debate, present a solid argument, or offer something actually worth reading?

Regardless of everything else, a tiny dose of reality—and perhaps a shred of constructiveness—wouldn't hurt you.

Lawrence Phillips said:Just because you start a thread doesn't mean you're actually starting a discussion.
Seriously, people keep digging up these old, dead topics, but then the people reviving them can barely string together more than three coherent words. It’s kind of ridiculous, honestly.

Most of the time, these threads get bumped with nothing but an "interesting topic..." or just a random smiley face.👍

Rachel Richardson... I mean, let's be real, those 100,000 posts of yours probably aren't all the result of deep, constructive debates.
I'm not saying you don't have smart things to say—not at all!—but you definitely contribute quite heavily to this whole half-baked way of communicating. It just creates these endless, messy loops that never seem to resolve, which makes everything such a chore to read, especially considering what the actual topic was supposed to be about.

All this chatter happening inside specific threads feels way more suited for a chat room rather than a forum where threads should actually have a clear point and flow.

You're basically participating in and fueling these "debates" that aren't even really debates at all.

Maybe take a look at the posts in the adult sections below the chat room? Then tell me if you see any actual, productive conversation happening there.

We are talking about fundamental differences in communication styles here.
You have people who write entire essays, only for someone else to come along and summarize the whole thing in a single sentence.

In certain threads, you get this "casual banter" vibe—but it serves the same purpose: it keeps the atmosphere light and informal.
As long as it stays within the appropriate topical boundaries, it’s fine.
Threads stay alive; they evolve.
Look at the US forums—they are a prime example of excellent moderation.
Sometimes a thread evolves into something new, so those posts are moved to a fresh topic.
Other times, interesting points from the chat room are migrated into a formal thread.
Do you follow me?
The point of moderation isn't to keep everything sterile. Moderation requires time and genuine effort.
You are dealing with real people; you have to get to know them, understand their potential, and see what they bring to the table.
And that is exactly what the new mod seems to be doing.

A thread started with a single smiley face isn't going to spark a cultural renaissance.

Out of those 100,000 posts, I'd wager you've only contributed about 20,000—so please, don't lecture me based on your own experience.😁
I'm not a fan of projections.

The mod is new; why don't you try helping him out?
When was the last time you actually opened a new discussion and contributed something meaningful to the forum?
Don't count the chat room.
And surely, a man with your years of experience must have some good stories to tell.😉

Ashley Vaughn79 said:Lawrence Phillips, I’m not trying to be mean, but I think I made my point quite clearly. 🙂

You guys are all picking on the new mod (who didn't even cause this mess himself), yet when someone asks—fine, if he's really that bad, who do you suggest instead? Nobody ever offers anything useful. 🤷

And regarding what you said... not everyone has the time or the patience to deal with idiots. This guy (unlike some people) actually shows initiative since he took over moderation, and I respect him for that. 🙂

It bothers me more that someone who is willing to work hard and follows their own set of rules (whatever those may be) gets trashed while nobody provides an actual solution or idea.

It feels like there isn't a single constructive suggestion being made; it's just constant complaining about how things aren't good enough. 😁

So, how much sense does all this venting actually make?
That was my point. 🙂

Damn.
I feel like I'm really pushing it here. 🤦

Whatever... I'll just stay quiet. 😁
It's tough, but I'll try.

Excellent post. 👍

I find it quite amusing when people who have never served as moderators in their lives start lecturing us with their "genius" ideas.

In most cases, they just boil down to wanting to ban anyone they don't personally like.
Total amateurs.

Personally, I liked some of the things ruggedscout76 implemented, from the moderator suggestion thread and so on.
Everyone has their own style, but looking into how users actually interact is definitely 👍

As far as I'm concerned, Alexander Gray2 is a good mod.
He’s just getting started, and he’s keeping a close eye on everything being written.
From what I can see, he responds to reports and prevents insults.
He participates in discussions.

Some people clearly prefer a different kind of moderation—they want debates steered toward their own interests—but they lack the actual skill to make that happen themselves. 🤔

Paul Martin8 said:Because they don't actually have a single decent suggestion to offer🙄

They just sit there criticizing... as if saying "give it some time" solves anything.
The forum was left completely unsupervised, which basically turned it into a magnet for everything nasty.
From total idiots to those mindless trolls who exist just to cause trouble.
Oh sure, let's just give the new manager more time before we start whining again. Is that the plan?
My suggestion? Maybe give him some actual help, because cleaning up this mess takes time, and I'm assuming he has a life outside of this and can't—or doesn't want to—be glued to the forum 24/7.

p.s. the rule about GIFs is absolute garbage🙂

👍
ruggedscout76 said:Toxic, we can probably just agree to disagree on this one. 🙂

In my view, a moderator really ought to maintain a level of decency toward everyone, or at least as much as their patience allows. It’s entirely possible to be firm and consistent without losing your manners; frankly, it's just a matter of how one was raised. If you possess the "power" to issue a warning or a ban—to effectively remove someone from the forum—and yet still feel the need to be rude to them in the process, then I suspect you lack the character required to actually "dispense justice."

I agree. 👍

People who view moderation as some kind of tribal vendetta against anyone with a different opinion—they have completely missed the point.

Ashley Vaughn79 said:To me, it isn't even about how they were raised; it's just pure ego.

Pisces individuals tend toward daydreaming, while Cancers are driven by emotion.

Having Mars in Pisces suggests a drive lost in dreams—whereas Mars in Cancer points toward being submerged in feelings.

It all depends on those specific dreams and emotions; they can certainly turn quite mischievous if pushed. 😁

Smith puts it this way:

Mars Aries Aries aggression, adventurousness Impulsive desire for leadership
Mars Taurus Taurus devotion loyalty Loyalty and patience
Mars Gemini Gemini industriousness A busy bee
Mars Cancer Cancer non-aggression, indirect approach Inner satisfaction
Mars Leo Inner satisfaction Leo Huge ego number one (wanna be)
Mars Virgo Perfectionist Precision
Mars Libra Libra aggression, alternating competition and cooperation Persuasiveness
Mars Scorpio Persuasiveness Scorpio strong will Strong self-discipline
Mars Sagittarius High (but distant) goals Strong self-discipline Sagittarius high
Mars Capricorn Desire for power and leadership Enthusiast Capricorn
Mars Aquarius Efficiency Aquarius Artistry Efficiency Aquarius Artistry
Mars Pisces Inventiveness Pisces circumvention Mars Artistry

Mars in Pisces manifests as artistry, while Mars in Cancer acts through circumvention.
