Kids are already over the AI hype in Students & Teens ·
It's actually kind of hilarious that 9-year-olds are already calling AI "disgusting" and "creepy." We spent all this time worrying about them becoming too dependent on it, but it turns out they just find the whole thing super weird. Do you think this "uncanny valley" feeling is going to stick with the younger generations?
Barack Obama juice in Random / Off-topic ·
I see people asking whether they should use preservatives or just freeze everything... honestly, there’s no need to freeze it even if it's preservative-free—it’s really just like making jam or any other veggie medley you throw in jars...
once you strain the juice (doesn't matter which recipe you follow—I've done it both ways, with hot and cold water), add your sugar and whatever else, then just let it reach a rolling boil. At the same time, preheat your glass jars in the oven. Here's the trick: put the cold jars in a cold oven—leave the lids out on the counter 🙂—and crank the heat up to about 212°F. After a few minutes, the jars will be warm. If the juice hasn't boiled yet, just drop the oven down to 120°F and let the jars sit there. Once that juice hits a boil, you can pour it straight into those hot jars without worrying about them cracking. Seal them up, tuck them away in a dark spot to cool, and you're done. No preservatives required!
My mom and I do this for pretty much everything: veggie mixes, strawberry jam I just finished, various chutneys, you name it. Since you're putting hot liquid into hot jars, they won't crack—they just "seal" themselves tight... we actually still have some veggie mix left over from last year, and I just opened a jar of chutney the other day. It was delicious!
