I’m looking for some help regarding my monitor's gamma calibration. Here’s the deal: when I go into the Windows settings and move the gamma correction slider up and down, the colors on the screen shift momentarily, but after about half a second, they snap right back to how they were. It doesn't matter if I'm using the built-in Windows tools or any third-party gamma correction software I've downloaded—it's like something is forcing the settings back to the original state immediately.

The color discrepancy is massive; comparing the image on my phone to what I see on my laptop is like night and day. My laptop is a Dell Latitude 15. I tried digging through this article to figure out which ICC profile I should be using to fix this, but I couldn't quite wrap my head around which one applies to my specific setup. https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/article...profiles.htm#d

What should my next steps be?

I have already disabled all those eye-strain reduction programs, like Blue Iris and Sunscreen...

I do photography professionally, so resolving this is extremely urgent for me.

My motherboard just gave up on me. Since I'm working with an older laptop, finding replacements is nearly impossible, so I had to hunt for one through a classified ad online.
I managed to track down a motherboard from a Dell Latitude 1en, but my specific machine is a Dell Latitude 1qw.

Do you think those last two letters in the model designation will cause any issues regarding component compatibility?

Also, does the 1en version feature dedicated graphics, given that my 1qw definitely has its own chip?

The real headache is likely the ribbon cable connection to the board or some damaged contact pads under the keys themselves—usually happens when those "repair guys" try to "fix" things by taking everything apart after a spill or a cleaning attempt.

I've never actually opened up a keyboard before. What's the move here? Is there a way to fix this, or am I better off just biting the bullet and buying a new one?

The dongle is sitting right next to it, and I already swapped the batteries the second the issue started—that didn't do a thing.

Hey everyone. I’ve been away from my desktop setup for a little while, and now that I'm back, my wireless keyboard is acting completely haywire.�� Specifically, in the middle row, only the letters G, H, J, and K are actually responding. As for the number pad, the 1, 2, and 3 keys are totally dead. Everything else seems to be working more or less okay. I've already tried reconnecting it and even went through the hassle of reinstalling the drivers, but nothing has changed. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.��

I have a family member dealing with residual schizophrenia. He’s currently 58, but he’s been battling this since he was 21.

The early symptoms were pretty much what people have mentioned on here before—things like mania and such—but there was one thing I can't quite wrap my head around: a swelling at the back of his head, specifically near the cerebellum.
Back then, he saw this alternative practitioner who told him straight up that he had been poisoned, expressing genuine shock that he was even still alive. 😢
It sounds like a bizarre way to handle medical issues, but apparently, it worked: She told them to use a rabbit's head and wrap it in a cloth over the swollen area at the back of his head.
He kept it wrapped there for 24 hours, and when they finally removed it, the rabbit's head had supposedly sucked all the blood out of that swollen spot, causing the inflammation to vanish for good. These days, he is managed on Handol and Akineton.

Just to be clear, there are witnesses—family members who were right there with him—so this isn't just something he made up in his mind.
I'm wondering, is it actually possible🤷 for someone to have been poisoned, like this alternative healer (an elderly woman who uses bioenergy and things like that) claimed?
Also, what actually triggers schizophrenia, and what does "residual" specifically mean in a clinical sense? 😕
