Planning to conceive after being on birth control?

I mentioned that you really ought to see an OB-GYN first, because cycles that short aren't exactly standard and could point to something more significant. Why wasn't a checkup part of the plan before deciding to try for a baby? Are you just willing to take that gamble, thinking, "Eh, everything's probably fine, let's just start trying"? Look, if that's how you want to play it, that's your call—plenty of women focus solely on the goal of getting pregnant without considering their own health or the potential impact on the baby until they've confirmed everything is okay. But please, just give it some thought. It’s entirely possible that one of your previous periods was actually an early miscarriage that went unnoticed... if I recall correctly, you mentioned this last one was quite heavy. You're asking "Am I pregnant?" when the more pressing question should be "What is going on with my body?"
I didn't skip it by accident... it's true, my cycles are way too short (they were a steady 28 days when I was on the pill), and as soon as this one ends, I am heading straight to the doctor. I have absolutely no intention of risking anything, whether it's my own health or the baby's... (and I realize I'm totally in the wrong thread here, sorry! 🤷 ))
