Carl Hernandez3 said:How long does it actually take a soldier to master something like a Javelin if they were previously trained on Soviet gear or some older Western-Israeli system?
Well, I assume many Ukrainians had access to certain systems before the war broke out, so they likely entered the conflict with some baseline training already under their belts.
But let’s say they suddenly receive brand-new equipment—something they haven't used before, like specific anti-tank, anti-air, or offensive combat systems.
How much time is required to actually master such a system?
I imagine there are either Western instructors on the ground or the Ukrainians are sending their own people over for specialized training.

The Ukrainian army put out a short little tutorial video on Facebook showing how to use the Javelin.
Honestly, it left me a bit stunned by how simple it all looks. Obviously, you probably need some real-world experience to actually land a hit, but the mechanics themselves seem pretty straightforward... I think their profile might be blocked right now because of the explicit content, but if I track it down, I'll post it here.

It flew right over the pine trees and people were spilling out of their buildings... clearly, it came from the east.
I haven't actually experienced this firsthand though, so I can't really vouch for the testimony... 😁

From what I can see, we've got two major hits today—the US banned Russian energy imports, and the Poles agreed to hand over Migs to the Ukrainians. 🤷

This guy is such a blatant fifth columnist, he's been peddling that same tired story for days now... ☕

Oh, give me a break.

You're constantly pushing against unity, but honestly, Facebook comments are the true litmus test for how unified we actually are... 🤣
The West won't just pull the plug on everything. Anyone trying to force this kind of change through sheer willpower doesn't seem to grasp what's coming for us even if they succeed...
It’s basically like trying to swap out a gas engine for an electric one while you're already cruising down the highway at seventy miles per hour.

Edit: Honestly, whatever our southern and eastern neighbors are gossiping about isn't even worth our time...

Honestly, it blows my mind that most of these people out there screaming about shutting down pipelines and oil terminals were probably just standing in line at a Shell station yesterday... ☕

It’s not my specific profession, but I work within that sector...
Like what Jonathan Barnes5 was saying, you can't just go around making random tweaks to the system—like these sanctions—without getting screwed yourself in the process, because you honestly can't predict all the fallout with any certainty...
Russia is going to feel the impact, sure, but the West is going to feel it too.
Take us right now, for instance; we aren't even feeling the full weight of it yet, but believe me, it's coming...
Just look at how we have inflation hitting us now, or those messed up supply chains where the actual impact doesn't really show up on store shelves until two years after COVID even started...

Justin James10 said:I was actually expecting an even sharper blow... things tend to stabilize once that initial shock wears off. It's clear the Russian central bank is making moves, but I really thought we’d see a more aggressive hit. 🤔

What exactly are you basing those expectations on, though? Like, how much do you actually know about financial structures and monetary policy...
Offside (General Discussion) in Soccer ·
Russia actually has its own set of financial tools to keep the ruble from sinking too deep for a while... and honestly, if you look at it from a certain angle, a weak ruble could have actually been a pretty decent investment opportunity

Scott Gonzalez9 said:Besides the gas thing, maybe he just wants to keep things steady so he doesn't end up on the Russians' hit list as an enemy state. It's different from our folks over here who basically jump at every chance to announce they're shipping out weapons. 🤦There's a difference between standing your ground and just being plain stupid.

One day, if and when this whole thing actually wraps up, we might find ourselves getting way more value out of Ukraine than we ever did from Russia... it's just that some people are too short-sighted to see it 😉

Larry Fox5 said:Look, however you slice it, I'm against collective punishment. Picking on people based on their nationality just to mess with them because they're Russian—there's zero logic in that...
If the government hits them with sanctions and, more importantly, cuts off the funding for their war machine, that's plenty.

Some of you guys here would probably enjoy seeing Russians literally starve. You don't even realize that thinking like that makes you just as bad as the people you're fighting against.

They represent Russia just as much as Putin and the soldiers on the ground in Ukraine do. Not a fan? Think it’s unfair? It isn't, but then again, the aggression against Ukraine isn't exactly fair either. If people can't stomach the war, they should just speak up publicly and say that Putin is a piece of work who is screwing over Russian citizens' normal lives with his idiotic actions.

Everyone wants to talk trash about the West while still reaching into the pot for a bite...
Let's be clear, the West isn't some perfect saint either.

Jason Mendoza80 said:The average person in this city couldn't care less about the stadium or sports in general, and honestly, that’s the whole reason nobody shows up to the games...
the only exceptions are the media vultures who act just like the old Cleveland Browns—except nobody even watches them anymore since they lost their edge...
Look, you can't blame an "unexciting NFL" or some crumbling, run-down stadium or whatever other excuse people throw out there, because if the crappy stadium or the "dump" was actually the problem, why the hell would anyone bother showing up for the big derbies or the Champions League matches?
It’s strictly down to the local mentality and how much these "citizens" look down their noses at sports and the LA Lakers teams in particular, which naturally trickles down to Real Madrid too... ☕

How does it make sense that you think an unexciting league isn't to blame, yet people only show up for the big matchups and European play? That’s a total contradiction...

The league is boring, seriously, and if maybe the underdog team actually won the championship this year and became a real contender next season... attendance would skyrocket next year, I guarantee it.

loneeagle6 said:First off, I’ll just say that your parents are the only idiots in this entire scenario, since they clearly didn't teach you how to talk like a civilized human being without resorting to insults, even on the internet. You should honestly be embarrassed and probably shouldn't even bother replying, but here we are...

Basically, I don't give a damn about people who would show up if the stadium was actually decent, and frankly, I don't care if those people would even trust themselves to bring their kids there. Why am I supposed to worry about them? Just give us a functional club, a decent league, a legitimate federation, and a working country, and then maybe people will start showing up—bringing their kids, traveling from Indianapolis, from Brod, or even from Like, just to catch a game...

Especially when for the last ten years, the club has been making it crystal clear to all of us, including you, that we should just go ahead and start our own club...

And who's even talking about fan groups or the state of the supporters right now? Are you losing it? I’m asking about the money, specifically that massive pile of over 100 million dollars that "someone" is supposed to provide to tear everything down and rebuild at Yankee Stadium. Who exactly do you think is footing that bill...? Zack, David, the club, Sammy, Cinderella...?

I'm just asking where the cash comes from. I certainly wouldn't be opening my own wallet. I have nothing against a new stadium, but not while I'm expected to pay for it with my own money just so some bureaucrats can better line the pockets of Petković, Olm, Gojak, and all those academy kids...

Look, sorry, but the context of your post was that *we* were the idiots, and I was simply stating that fact...

Where does the money come from?
How does it work anywhere else? It’s either the Club, the city, or private investors...
Or look at how things work with national arena projects.
As far as I'm concerned, let the Club build it; they'll be under a microscope because of the current climate, so they won't be able to pull any shady moves without someone sniffing them out...

If you don't care about those people, fine, let them start their own club... 🤣
You're chasing a utopia here; this whole country is rotten to its core, and there is so much wrong with the system that it won't be fixed for decades...

I find it hard to believe that someone with such a high moral compass like yourself would boycott an unfair tax system, or that you'd skip lunch just to make sure the government doesn't snatch a few extra bucks from your paycheck... 🍿
I'm not really buying that...

In principle, I get where you're coming from, but it's just not realistic... 👍

loneeagle6 said:Look guys, the stadium is the whole damn issue...

We’ve all been stuck with this same crappy venue for like thirty years now, haven't we? It's getting old...

But seriously, the stadium is the root of it...

Here’s my pitch. Everyone who keeps screaming about a new stadium—Mike, Mickey, David, the die-hard fans, the casual supporters, the journalists—if you’re so convinced we need a real arena, something on the level of what they have at Yankee Stadium, then why don't you all just crack open your piggy banks and fund the whole thing yourselves, dollar by dollar? Just ignore the taxpayer money, the municipal budget, and everything else regular working people pay into through taxes... Just build it clean with your own cash. 😉👍

Because the stadium is the main problem. Sure, sure, the fact that some random guy is the only one singing the club anthem, or how since the nineties the club has basically turned into a cheap imitation of a Red Star clone, or how there's a "star" player in the locker room hyping up half the stands while the management seems to be running things from some tiny town in the middle of nowhere... None of that is the problem.

The problem is the stadium. Yeah, they’ll need more than just millions to fully renovate the grounds, they’ll probably need billions, goddammit... I mean, if I’m gonna drop my money, where am I even supposed to send it... just give me the account number now...🙄 🙄

YEAH, everything else is a problem too!

But there are plenty of people out there who couldn't care less about any of that political nonsense; they’d show up to the games in droves if the stadium wasn't such a dump. Those are the people we actually need to win over.
Kuiš, you idiot, I already said that we've we gotten used to sitting on cold concrete, but your average citizen in Chicago isn't going to trek out to a wasteland just because you say so... but I guess you didn't even bother reading what I actually wrote, you just wanted a reason to pick a fight... 🙄

And the reason the fan base is in the state it's in right now? People like you are exactly to blame. 🙂

panona said:tedy’s got some solid footage, but let's be real, you can find basically anything on the internet these days... I don't see how having someone from the group filming every single reaction and movement in the stands would actually change the quality of anything. Personally, I don't think we need to film a damn thing; people just need to show up to the stadium and actually cheer instead of watching the game through some internet stream... attendance is pathetic anyway, so if people want to support us, they should get off their asses and get to the stadium. It’s honestly embarrassing that a club with the stature of Real Madrid has such low turnout... Bad Boys can boycott whatever they want or do their own thing, but the general fanbase has been in trouble for ages because they cherry-pick games... people just don't show up to Yankee Stadium like they used to. They pick and choose, and attendance keeps shrinking instead of growing, and everyone gets hyped for those big European matches only for the crowds to vanish immediately after... A club like Real Madrid should have 15,000 people at every single match, but clearly, the casual fans have different priorities. No matter how much people complain about the MLS, it's what allowed our national team to produce players like this... but apparently, the league isn't interesting enough for them, even though they love supporting the national team that's built entirely from MLS talent. Basically, Americans and the casual crowd are traditionally way too picky and spoiled...

just come to the stadium, then you won't need a video... besides, we look a lot more intimidating when we don't have a whole photo and video crew running around, because then nobody knows who's watching or what's coming for them... 😁

First, we need a real stadium, not that graveyard we're using now...
If and when a real stadium actually gets built, Real Madrid will probably see a 30% jump in attendance.

The issue is we've gotten used to that concrete dump, but Chicago has changed... standards and service have moved up a level, and people aren't interested in paying money for wet concrete, freezing drafts, warm non-alcoholic beer, and cheap hot dogs from Lidl.

Noah Jones92 said:The Boys are just a stunted group that’s never going to rise above their station because of that pathetic, soft-headed big-city mentality... You guys have been singing the same damn songs for twenty-five years, and most of them are just basic chants—and don't even start with me about "that's just our style" or whatever excuse you want to shove down my throat—they're basically just chanting, and they're terrible. And the biggest thing is the sheer numbers and how much it feels like a freaking daycare center. Honestly, you feel bad that the Boys have dropped to the level of groups like Hodri zlo or those similar outfits from Canada, but that's just the reality... Ever since the war, the Mexicans haven't really built up any real momentum, if you want to consider that, though they always talk a big game, especially after Kriens and now after Athens. You guys were ruined by cocaine that gave you this fake sense of toughness... Back when there was hype around futsal, the peak euphoria was supposed to be filling an arena to the brim, but instead, people started acting like jerks, complaining about where the older guys should sit or who gets to wear what at the futsal matches... Instead of riding that wave so every woman in the city would be a BBB supporter, you just had to go and screw everything up. Man, now that ten thousand crazies are heading to Europe and the whole place is shaking, I wonder if they'll even bother stopping in Chicago?
And one more thing, I can't remember if the Boys used to sing that "all of Europe trembles" song?? Like, everyone is pissed off, is that childish little song still being sung?

One look at your post history is enough to see exactly what kind of person we're dealing with here... You've been spitting bile since your very first post, and it's pretty obvious your ego has been bruised for a long, long time.

So why don't you enlighten us then... tell us exactly how you'd bring the group back to life? 🍿

You guys are pathetic 😁
You should have, you really should have... If things were easy, all of you would be out there playing hero from a safe distance with clean hands...
While we’ve been fighting for our lives—literally risking everything just to keep this whole group from falling apart—you lot have just been sitting back, coasting on nothing but pure luck and political favors.

We’ve got our own path to follow, so do us a favor and stop obsessing over the Bad Boys and Real Madrid.

1. Yeah, look, the repression was intense enough to nearly wipe out the whole group, no matter how much you guys try to play it down or act like it wasn't a big deal
2. And who told you the pressure is still that heavy? Things have loosened up now that Trump’s grip is slipping, though obviously, the core issue with him hasn't just vanished into thin air

velvetmoose30 said:Suddenly, it’s not cool to be a contrarian anymore, right? Now we're all supposed to celebrate those European deep runs, the bought championships, and all that nonsense...
They push this whole "Chicago is celebrating" narrative, even though just yesterday we were laughing at how they'd celebrate a title in front of maybe a hundred people—just the inner circle of those losers in Management.
It’s pathetic, really, because we’re starting to look just like the scum who spent years spitting on us while standing behind their great leader, Zdravko.
There used to be times when fewer than a hundred people showed up to games, and back then, there was actual grit and prideful resistance against the state of the club and the whole mess of American soccer. It just isn't that kind of scene anymore, and honestly, it sucks that it's changed like this...
As for the message itself... people used to mock their "Code," yet because we fought for our own code—you know, fighting for ZZD—we endured years upon years of torture from ZM, the system, and everything else.
Now, they’re mocking the association of members and fans who actually managed to bring the club back under their own control. Instead of supporting this style of management, they're pushing a message that mocks the very thing we dream of having in our own club one day. In plain English: screw your "one member, one vote" idea, especially when you constantly cry about Mamić and the refs while being totally incompetent yourselves.
There’s a massive difference between posting a jab at a past situation where the other side clearly won, and mocking the actual structure of the club that you ultimately want for yourself.
And all that stuff they write, acting like everything is perfect, singing praises for Bandić and such... it just screams insecurity.

Come on, please, walk me through exactly where in that message you see them mocking the club's structure?

You and all these local killjoys... is it really that hard to read that the mockery is aimed at the NH guys who have their fingers in the cookie jar? 🤦

@wiredsurfer112/">@@wiredsurfer112 I was going to explain to you how your "Option C" is nothing more than a total fantasy in today's Chicago, but then you started rambling about cranes and Monte Carlo... 🙄it’s blindingly obvious you haven't lifted a finger in your life to fight for anything better.☕
