Karen Clark said:Where or from whom can I get an appraisal for some 70s LP vinyl records? I found them in good condition in my home "junk shop"... they've been forgotten there for decades.
For example:

Rock operas, Kraftwerk, The Rolling Stones, etc.

Thanks for the help!

Don't go to any record stores or use their services to get an appraisal for your records. They have a vested interest in the sale... it's risky. You should look for an audiophile instead—someone who has no reason to cheat you on the value. Using multiple parameters for the assessment is always the best solution...
I would be more than happy to take a look at those records and give you my opinion if you happen to be in Chicago. Otherwise, send me a PM...
LP Rolling Stones Big Hits - Vinyl record, DECA pressing, weighing in at about 10 GB, condition is EX near mint, sleeve is US VG - available for sale 👍
I actually have two of these, so this one is an accidental extra... just ended up with more than I planned for.

Rolling Stones greatest hits compilation (High Tide and Green Grass)
Original DECCA pressing
Vinyl is in EX+ condition
Cover is VG+
Asking $67
Kevin Chavez3 said:I can honestly vouch for this seller. In my experience, they are actually realistic when grading condition* and super easy to deal with. If you feel like a solid USA grade might work for you, just reach out and see if you can arrange a local pickup—that way, if the record isn't quite what you expected, there’s zero pressure to follow through. But, if even a good USA grade doesn't cut it, you should probably keep looking...

* The truth is, there are so many people on auction sites labeling everything as "USA" the second it isn't halfway crushed...🙄

Okay, please send me his contact info via PM

I appreciate the effort, really, but I specifically requested N/NM grading. This one is just an ex, and honestly, it looks even less than that to me...
It’s just not what I’m looking for. You can find all sorts of junk being sold under those condition labels, especially on auction sites...
granitecyclist said:Man, you clearly haven't checked out the second-hand shops over in the Trattini district yet...

NO 🙂

nimblemaker52 said:Alright, just one quick practical question... 😁

So, let's say I pick up that solid Dell u2311h monitor... but then my PC just can't handle 3D at full HD resolution. It's a total bottleneck. So, I decide to drop the resolution down—maybe to 1600x900, or even worse, down to 1200x800... and now I'm left wondering how that actually looks on screen. Will everything look terribly pixelated and jagged... or what?

Or should I just kill the AA/AF entirely and stick to native resolution? Which one is actually worse... 😁

Do you see my dilemma...? 😁

Time to upgrade the rig... It’s happening.

Any suggestions for a new monitor? Looking to stay around the $567 mark, maybe give or take
...👍 I'd love to hear your reasoning and any hands-on experience you might have! 👍

Honestly, it’s glaringly obvious how obnoxious this whole aesthetic is. This blue theme the forum is using? It’s just tacky. A charcoal gray would have at least felt like something unique... unfortunately, it seems like every single website out there settles for this same irritating shade of blue everywhere you look.
Nothing original about it. But hey, it is what it is...

It might actually stay more pleasant for the eyes if we just avoided that soul-less shade of blue...
