I'm noticing a lot of stuff here, but zero students in sight.

So they've got more love. Big deal. And?

I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with Finland.

Their track record isn't exactly anything to write home about.
It’s always the small-minded types who get all worked up just because they heard someone mention Finland and five theoretical theorems they were forced to memorize like parrots.

Maybe we should just scrap schools entirely and send kids straight to church instead.
Total Middle Ages vibes.
Really hoping someone with half a brain stops this circus before it gets out of hand.
What happens to Indigo children when they grow up? in Spirituality ·
Normal kids who get labeled as "indigos" by their parents just end up as hypersensitive wrecks who can't function in the real world.
Then their parents either nag them into an early grave or cook up some paperwork just to live off government assistance.

That’s pretty much spot on for high school.

School represents optimism—it’s about building a better world through knowledge and opportunity.
Why should we stunt the intellectual growth of young people just because the world is currently being run by idiots?
The trend of glorifying ignorance will pass, but an education is a lifelong asset.
Maybe helicopter parents will get it one day. Probably not until they're 80, still ironing shirts for their 50-year-old grandkids and driving them to work.

Barbarians always have a thing for conquering. Anyone who actually paid attention in history class knows that.

Maybe she’s just a perfectionist who thinks she needs to master everything right away.

Anyway, even if it feels totally unnecessary, it can't hurt—it's good practice for brainpower and discipline. It’s not like she’s trying to memorize a hundred data points a day.

If you can't figure out how to fry an egg or cast a ballot, you’re probably too dim to even make it through high school.
Honestly, feels like we're just setting ourselves up for failure at this rate.

Even my cat knows who isn't in charge and manages to feed itself just fine.

I’m not sure this person actually knows anything about how things used to run back in the day—unless they were born before the Truman administration. They just love acting superior while trashing modern education.

School isn't just a place to hunt for facts you could easily Google in five minutes.

It's supposed to broaden your horizons, spark some actual curiosity about the world, and teach you how to value knowledge in the first place.

Honestly, seeing everyone stay positive and actually act civilized proves this reform is worth pushing through. People are finally walking the walk.
That goes for both the crew grinding on the reform and everyone who showed up to back it today.

I've been overthinking this all day, but I finally decided I'm hitting up Times Square tomorrow.
Smith won't hang out with me in Psychology & Therapy ·
Kenneth Garcia4 said:I only see my cousins who are ten years older or younger than me about once every five years. Honestly, I’m hearing for the first time that that could actually be a struggle for some people. 😲

The only people it "troubles" are the vultures looking to milk their family for everything they've got.

If things happen naturally, cool. Good vibes, easygoing hangouts.

But forcing a "get-together" just to score some benefits? That's pathetic, even if you mask it as "family bonding." Give me a break.

Like, why would a 35-year-old feel the need to hang out every single week with a broke college student trying to make it? Yeah, I'll pass on that one.

Wow, you’re really something. You act like a total jerk, then the second we try to cheer you up, you start acting all high and mighty.

The thing is, the melancholy following my divorce has taken on a worrying, almost unbearable weight. 🙂 I feel incredibly uncomfortable in my own skin 🙂 It isn't depression—I don't view it as a clinical condition—but it isn't exactly pleasant either. It feels... well, right on the edge of hopelessness. 😲

I know psychotherapy can help, and I am actively working on that. 😁

So, what's the core issue?
Being solo is hard. It's awkward, frustrating, cold, grueling, nasty, grim, terrible, empty, boring... I’d much rather have a partner.
And why I don't have one is perfectly clear to me.
I'm not complaining just to complain, but it seems I am trapped by my own self-image, which apparently refuses to change.

Essentially, I just don't have the strength to jump back into a relationship. Sure, I could find a suitable woman if I wanted to. But I'm not looking. I simply don't have the energy for the whole "getting to know someone" dance or going on dates; I have zero desire to socialize beyond grabbing a coffee here and there with a friend. I have no drive for the "hunt," and even something like speed dating wouldn't work—meeting people requires an engagement that I currently lack the will, the strength, and the energy to provide.

Secondly, I won't settle for superficial connections. That's just not who I am. I'm an emotionalist, not Charlie Sheen. I don't wish I were him, and I accept myself as I am. I'm not better or worse than Charlie Sheen; I'm just different. Consequently, shallow flings don't interest me, no matter how popular or recommended they might be these days. I can't do it, and I don't want to. That's just how it is.

And so, we find ourselves back at the start.
I am alone.
I don't like it.
I don't have the strength to build something new.
I don't want anything superficial.

The only light at the end of the tunnel is the realization that this state of being cannot last forever.
Once I sort myself out and regenerate,
I can move forward and look for something new.

As for how long this absolute mess will continue—only God knows. 🤷

PS
Today marks four months since the divorce was officially finalized.

mmm.🙂
if you're actually that hot, don't sweat it. I'll slide a nude into your DMs to help cure that Melancholy.😛😉

Look, just take your time. There’s zero rush to jump headfirst into a relationship.

It’s fall and it's raining; of course everything feels a little bleak right now.

Things usually just sort themselves out in their own time.
Try not to overthink your moods or stress about what you should be doing or feeling...

Ugh, I missed it.🤦

I'll try looking for it on Hulu or just hope it shows up at some upcoming festival in NYC. This movie always seems to slip right past me.
Keith Jones19 said:Yeah, her first guy basically tells her she's exhausting right at the start. If you view the whole movie through that lens, everything just clicks.

So, how do I actually watch this? I'm genuinely curious—I get the vibe that she's a lot to handle, so now I really want to see it.
Is Reddit dying?! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It’s dying.
The same old topics keep looping, everyone starts copying each other's vibe, making stuff up, playing roles... it gets exhausting after a while.

Luckily, there's always some new naive kid with way too much free time who jumps on a trend.

This whole site is just a product of its era. It reflects how people talked over the last decade or so. It’ll probably hang on for another ten years before it hits its natural expiration date.

AOL Instant Messenger was the go-to back in the early 2000s. I think they shut it down. Nobody threw a fit, honestly, nobody even noticed. It just died a natural death.

Another thing is that some stuff here just sucks. The rules aren't applied equally, which is annoying as hell. The people making the rules can be incredibly dense and power-trippy.
That's just how it goes—wherever you find people, you'll find those types. I mostly just ignore them. I couldn't care less about their little slice of digital authority. If someone really pushes my buttons, I'll just head to a different subreddit or find something else to kill time with online. No one is indispensable, and there are plenty of ways to waste time. 😉
