Tick bite help! in Health ·
I just stepped out of my doctor’s appointment... they prescribed a topical cream for the itching and sent me off for some blood work, just to be safe—you know how these things go. I am really hoping for some good news once everything comes back. Honestly, I can't thank you all enough for the advice and support you've shared! 🙂

There’s absolutely nothing black left... I honestly think there isn't anything left inside at all. In fact, even right in the center, it looks more like some sort of pus-filled pimple or something similar.
Even though the redness seemed to fade a little bit today, the itching just won't let up.

I’m heading out tomorrow... I just really hope everything goes according to plan 😢🤷

Has anyone else here dealt with the illnesses that ticks can carry?

I honestly thought I was over the hump yesterday—the itching had finally started to let up—but today, it came roaring back... full force. It’s probably best if I just head into the doctor's office tomorrow to get it checked out properly, right?

If anyone has any insight or experience with this at all, please let me know..

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, while I was running some errands downtown, I suddenly felt this intense itching on my left knee—and once I finally got home, I realized there was a tick attached to me. I managed to get it off pretty quickly and just assumed that would be the end of it.

But since then, the spot where the tick was biting has become unbearably itchy; there’s this red patch about an inch wide, and I’m honestly at a loss for what to do. It seemed to calm down a bit right after my shower, but now the itching is back and it's driving me absolutely crazy.

To make matters worse, just a little bit away from that initial spot, I've noticed what looks like another tiny "bug"—I don't quite know how to describe it—it's also red and itchy, just much smaller.

After doing a bit of digging online, I've become incredibly paranoid. Now, I feel like I might even see the shadow of another tick—one that's harder to spot—on my leg, right near that second small red bump. But it's so minuscule that I can't tell if it's actually a bug or just my imagination playing tricks on me.

Do you think I should head to the doctor?
The level of itching is really worrying me, and the area feels somewhat firm to the touch 🤷.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on how things are looking today.
Initially, I tried applying some over-the-counter anti-itch cream to the area, but honestly? It didn't do a thing. Interestingly enough—and perhaps a bit counterintuitively—the itching only started to subside once I applied a diluted solution of apple cider vinegar. Following that, I decided to try taking one of those allergy tablets I had left over from this past summer—you know, the ones prescribed for sun-related allergies? The packaging specifically mentions relief for allergies, bites, and general itching, so I figured it was worth a shot. Every day that I took one, the redness seemed to fade, though it always felt like it would flare back up overnight. However, over the last two days, there’s been a noticeable shift... when I woke up both yesterday and this morning, the affected area had actually stayed diminished without that frustrating nighttime swelling.
So, while those small circular marks are still present, they are gradually shrinking and, thankfully, the itching has stopped. Even those little bumps in the center seem to be clearing up. At this point, I’m really hoping everything is finally on the mend—that it will vanish completely within the next few days and stay gone, sparing me a trip to the doctor. I truly hope this isn't anything serious...
Thanks again to everyone for all the help and advice you've shared. 🙂

I hadn't realized that little bump was actually an insect bite... I've already gone ahead and picked up some topical cream to soothe it, so we'll see how that goes. I might even grab some antihistamines just to be safe—better to have them on hand in case the cream doesn't do the trick. I'll check back in a few days to let you all know how things are looking 🙂.

Nicholas Myers and Kyle Lee7, thank you both so much for the help... I'm really hoping this clears it up and I can finally put this thing behind me

I probably shouldn't have mentioned how much this itching was bothering me—now it feels like it's actually ramping up 🙂..

By the way, what exactly is Snoop Dogg used for? What kind of ointment is it? Can you just pick it up at a local CVS without a prescription? I’m thinking maybe I could try that before jumping straight to a doctor's appointment... or perhaps I'll just send someone to grab some for me, and if that doesn't do the trick, then I'll deal with the physician...
Regarding those dark spots—yes, they are moles, and I have quite a few of them..
Thank you so much for all the advice, truly! 🙂

So, here is the situation as of today... the changes haven't vanished entirely, but they don't seem to be spreading either.

I spent some time digging around online, trying to wrap my head around what this actually is—and I stumbled upon some advice suggesting it might just be an allergy. Following that lead, I tried applying a diluted apple cider vinegar solution to the area, since that’s what the suggestion called for... but when I applied it, there was this brief, intense sensation—sort of a tickling, itching feeling, though it's hard to put a finger on it exactly—and then everything settled down. For a split second, I almost thought the swelling had gone down because of the solution, but after a few hours, it felt like the size hadn't changed at all... so, it probably wasn't the magic cure I read about. The one silver lining? It isn't as itchy since I used it. Today, I barely had those moments where I had to struggle to keep myself from scratching uncontrollably; it just twitched here and there... unless I tried to touch the area with my fingers, of course, then the itch returned with a vengeance. Perhaps that means it might finally start receding 🤷..

I forgot to mention—those red, raised circles, each with a tiny little "pimple" or "bump" right in the center... I'm not quite sure how else to describe them...

So, yeah... the itching has subsided, but nothing is actually clearing up..

The itching actually started back on Sunday while I was heading home from the cemetery... which made me wonder, could something have bitten me while I was out there? 🤷... though, honestly, it seems unlikely that anything could have bitten through such a thick shirt... I really don't know what to make of it. If this doesn't start looking better in a few days, I'll definitely have to go see my doctor..

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with something similar... about two days ago, this patch appeared on my abdomen, and the itching just won't quit. They look like two irregular circles—roughly between 1cm and 2cm in size—slightly raised, and the itching fluctuates constantly from mild to absolutely unbearable. Everyone around me keeps insisting it’s nothing—suggesting maybe it’s a food reaction or a random bug bite—but I’m honestly at a loss for what to believe. I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean... please excuse the quality, my phone camera isn't great, but hopefully, you can make out something. My skin is naturally quite pale, so the contrast between my skin tone and the redness doesn't show up very clearly in the shot. If anyone has any idea what this might be, I would truly appreciate your help. 😢

Thanks, 🙂.

So, just to make sure I've got this straight—if I'm sending something via standard mail in a bubble mailer, that falls under the first category, right? Just a regular letter? And if I were to send it via certified mail instead, then it would be classified as certified.
Chloe Moore65 said:It really depends on how big it is—honestly, maybe 2-$1.00 is what that envelope
will weigh once you drop it off at the post office. You just have to decide if you want standard shipping or certified mail; obviously, going with certified is going to be $2.25 more expensive. My advice? Just head over to the USPS website to calculate the cost beforehand—you’ll definitely need to weigh the package first, since the price is based entirely on weight, after all.

Ah, I see, thanks! I was under the impression that envelope would be much heavier than that.
Could you possibly share the link to that page where you can estimate the shipping costs?
I really appreciate the help, 🙂🙏
Could someone please let me know what the current going rate is for those bubble mailers? Also, am I missing anything else when calculating shipping costs—besides just the envelope itself and the stamp? This is my very first time selling something online, and I want to make sure I'm charging enough to cover everything properly without overshooting.

Thanks 🙂
