So, I sent off a COD package headed toward the Chicago area about eight days ago.
It hit its destination after maybe four or five days.
Here’s the catch: I have zero clue if the recipient actually picked it up yet. He told me he’d grab it the very next day, but who knows? And honestly, what even happens if he just leaves it sitting there?
If the package was actually collected four days ago, how long does it usually take for the cash to actually land back in my account?
So, I need to ship something over to a suburb outside of Chicago using C.O.D. via USPS.
I'm trying to figure out how this whole thing actually works. Do I just list myself as the sender, or is there some specific way I have to format the paperwork?
I get the basic idea—that the recipient can't touch the package until they cough up the agreed amount to the mail carrier.
But what about the actual shipping fees? How does it work if I want the receiver to foot the bill for the postage instead of me?
Will the carrier just tack that extra cost onto the total when they go to pick it up, or is it handled differently?
Thanks.
