Where you ladies at? What have you picked up lately? Just wandering through some online shops, clicking those links posted here, and I stumbled upon this gorgeous jacket. Totally fell for it. Has anyone actually ordered from this site before?
I know those DP jeans you mean. I checked them out myself, but the reviews said the color bleeds too fast, so I passed. Anyway, I happened to be at Target the other day and snagged a size 16—though honestly, I’d probably call it a size 18. They’re a really light wash, bootcut style. Since I have a pear shape, they actually fit great; tight at the waist and roomy through the hips. I got them for just $23, which was already the third markdown. The original price was $75. I spotted some dark blue ones there that looked almost identical to these for $57, but those weren't on sale. I bet they have black ones too, but I wasn't looking. So, maybe go check them out. My neighbor usually shops at Macy's, but I think their cuts are more for an apple shape—better for women with more of a bust or midsection.
Checking out Monsoon and there are a few things I actually like, such as this: http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product....10/4230580318 and http://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product...7.1/4230571018
Shipping to the States is $3.95. Not bad, plus it gets here in about 6-8 days. Does anyone have experience ordering from them? Also, are their sizing standards actually normal?
rustytiger27 said:Are you talking about the ones they have on sale starting today? 🤔 The ones in white, black, and that peach-pink color?
No, not those. There were some larger ones right before those—wider straps, lace trim detail, and the cups were smooth and padded, with lace inset on the outer side near the arm. I tried digging through old Walmart catalogs online to double-check, but no luck. I picked up an oversized one on April 2nd, and then when I went back to exchange it on June 6th, a few more had popped up that weren't there before, so I grabbed the black and white ones too. Maybe staff put them back for someone else, or maybe a new shipment arrived. I guess. The newest ones say "t-shirt bra," and when I compared my 95 to that one, the new one was 5 cm narrower despite being the same size. Plus, the thin straps dig in on the larger sizes, and even the cups are narrower—about 5 cm shorter than the ones I bought previously. So yeah, apparently the same size doesn't actually mean the same fit.
Google says they have a shop in the Arena Mall, and another one over by City Hall. I think I hit the one in the mall, but I was just hunting for a heavy jacket, so I took a quick peek and headed out. Maybe I'll look closer next time; I had no clue they actually carried plus sizes.
Just a quick tip for women dealing with larger bra sizes: those bigger models from Target are actually great. I picked up a black one and a white one in a 95c today and they fit me perfectly. For just $15, they're honestly a steal, plus they feel sturdy and comfortable. I think they had some 85d to 95d sizes on sale last week too, but I found a few left in my stash today.

I haven't actually stepped foot in one of their stores, but they seem pretty pricey to me. Plus, the styles I stumbled upon online aren't exactly "wow" considering the price tag. They just feel a bit too classic and serious, I guess. If you have a link to their footwear collection, I’d appreciate it. Their site just has a store locator.
Thanks for the tip. Glad you could confirm firsthand that the stuff is legit. I'm already getting the emails and codes, just need to sort out a Mastercard or some shopping credit. :-) I tried ordering a bag from ASOS today and was pretty stoked to see they take Maestro. But once I hit the finish line and got an "order received" message, I ended up with an email saying they don't actually accept Maestro in my country. Well... damn.
Really nice stuff, and that price for the white shoes is suuuper. I've been getting emails from Dorothy and Škicam on the site for months now but haven't actually bought anything yet. My cards aren't compatible with online shopping, but I guess I'm heading to the bank in the next few days.

Maybe, I'm not sure, but I think mine are the darker ones—like, totally dark—and they’re sewn with red thread. There was only one like that among the others which had yellow thread. If yours aren't the same as mine, I might take them if the size is right. Maybe once I lose some weight. 🙄
hollowtinker40 said:Honestly, I feel like a whole new person ever since I discovered ASOS and Dorothy Perkins. Their sales numbers? Totally addictive, like I can't help myself. Okay, look, I can't try stuff on beforehand—which is a pain—but I totally make up for that because they offer free shipping and there aren't any crazy customs fees or extra taxes hitting my bank account, you know? Plus, I personally don't even bother looking at anything that costs more than maybe $50 bucks. And if, by some chance, a piece doesn't fit right—like, it's too tight, or way too baggy, or just kind of weirdly shaped, whatever—I just send it back. They either refund the money or I just swap it for a different size. It’s honestly been such a lifesaver for me. As for Skechers—they’re fine, I guess, but everything feels so incredibly sporty, you know? Like, not every single model works for me, but that’s definitely the vibe they lean into. With these other sites, though, you can actually find stuff for everything—like, something for a casual day out or even something a bit nicer for the holidays.
hollowtinker40, I spend days just scrolling through those two sites, especially during their clothing sales. When I input a size 6 because I assume that fits based on their descriptions, hardly anything shows up. I haven't found anything yet that I actually *have* to order. I haven't even looked at shoes—like, what sizes do they carry or how do they run? If you order the size you usually wear here, does it actually fit? I wouldn't dare order shoes because, honestly, I can't even squeeze into a US size 10 here. And yeah, Skechers are mostly sporty, but they have plenty of flats too. I actually own a bunch of their heels, like these: http://shoebedo.com/hr/brand/skechers/47870-blk/
If you're a tall girl with long legs, I might have a tip for you. I wear a size 13, which—let’s be honest—makes finding shoes a total nightmare unless I get lucky. For the last few years, I’ve been sticking to Rieker because they were basically the only option in my hometown that actually carried my size. A size 13 from Deichmann? Forget it. They're too narrow and uncomfortable; nothing ever fit right there. But... Since I discovered Skechers, my life has changed. They’re incredibly comfortable, and a size 12 fits like a glove. I mentioned this in the sales thread recently, but I ended up grabbing nine pairs this past weekend at the mall when the Skechers store was closing down. I snagged five pairs of boots for anywhere between $134 and $77, most of them for about a quarter of the retail price. It’s Wednesday, and I’ve been wearing different pairs to work every single day since; no blisters, no pain, even though it's my first time wearing them. Not to brag, but all the girls at my job are totally jealous that I walked in with five new pairs of stylish, affordable boots. Honestly, they're the only shoes I wear now. Before this haul, I picked up two pairs at the Skechers in Avenue Mall back in August for 50% off. I am obsessed with this brand, so if you have larger feet, I highly recommend them. I guess their sizing runs bigger because they're an American company, and Americans tend to be built a bit larger than, say, Italians. When I look at an Italian size 12, it feels more like a standard US size 9...
copperfox172 said:Any girls out there with strong legs and hips but a tiny waist—what kind of pants cut are you actually buying? If you have a link for a decent model from the sites you use, I’d really appreciate it.🙂
I guess bootcut is probably the best bet for our body type, or maybe just a straight cut since the legs stay even. We were actually just talking about those jeans from Gap that fit perfectly, so maybe check there.
Lisa Myers said:Picked up some denim jeans from Target the other day (not the ones I’m selling in my ad), bootcut style, and they even came with a belt—marked down from $117 to $83. I’ve had my eye on them for a year now. So glad they didn't sell out of my size. I am seriously happy with this find.
I also grabbed some jeans at the Takkou in the Arena Mall this past Sunday. Size 50, originally $350, then marked down to $250. They fit great so I decided to go for it, but when I got to the register, the cashier tells me they were actually marked down even further and charged me $50. 😲 I was fully prepared to pay the $250 that was on the tag, though. Mine are a straight cut with some kind of fantastic stretch. I guess I might head back to Takkou to see if any other styles are part of this sale... looks like a new round of markdowns just started.
Thanks for the input. I still need to double-check the details on that insurance policy; they didn't actually give me a specific number, so I was just guessing based on what a friend went through. It looks like his loan was way larger and stretched out longer than yours, quiettrucker. I'll probably look into it more...
For a $15,000 loan over 5 years, the insurance premium comes out to about $400—I just checked.
Now that I know the cost, I'll have to figure out if it's actually worth it.
1. They’re forcing automatic payroll deductions. Honestly, I’m not a fan. Up until now, my payments have always hit my checking account on a specific day we agreed upon, and if there isn't enough cash in there, they just wait until the next deposit hits. Simple as that.
2. If you want to make a partial early repayment—say, the loan is $15,000 and I want to drop $5,000 on it once I come into some money—nothing actually gets restructured. You still end up paying the interest rates originally agreed upon at the start.
3. The worst part: you have to pay for a risk or life insurance policy all at once. I already have a life insurance policy that I pay for monthly, and I’m just not feeling this. They say even if my existing coverage is enough, I still need their specific policy, which costs about $1,000! I'm not even sure if that can be rolled into the loan or not... I kind of stopped asking after that.
Those are my three big deal-breakers. This whole loan idea has gone downhill fast for me. Has anyone else dealt with this bank or others regarding these insurance policies? What kind of coverage are they actually looking for here?
I checked out Citibank, Chase, Wells Fargo, and even Bank of America... everyone is sitting at a minimum of 8.5%, if not higher.
But I keep reading that loan volume has tanked because of this crisis, so maybe banks will start slashing rates just to get people through the door. What if I lock in this fixed rate now, but then rates keep sliding for the next year?? Maybe it’s smarter to just wait it out? :-(
