Yeah, true... I guess I could... I even downloaded some workout apps already... so I'll just try doing a little bit of everything... every single day. Can't hurt, right? 🙂

restlesslynx7 said:A buddy said he’d lend me his reading glasses since my vision's getting wonky. Pretty sure one eye is starting to go out on me. Haven't actually tried them yet, but he swears they'll help.

Here’s how things work around here. I checked out that link about those weird patterned glasses. Honestly? Just looks like another way to give yourself a headache. Total gimmick.
I'm just dying to know—did any of that actually work for anyone?

So, I stumbled onto some sites claiming you can fix things just by practicing more. There’s even that whole theory about strengthening the ocular muscles to improve focus. But then you get the skeptics saying that’s total BS—arguing the real issue is just the eye length shifting, which throws the light off target. Total headache.
Not sure if muscle relaxers would even touch this case...

Here are some links to some exercises.
I can't believe people actually think clicking on a random link to some holistic health site is going to fix their lives. It’s all just noise. Total nonsense.
Staring at screens all day? Yeah, it’s killing us. Visionworks has some tips on computer eye strain, but honestly, we're all just walking headaches at this point. It's inevitable.

I’m not expecting any miracles here. I know damn well it’s probably a lost cause. But honestly? I just want to try and stop my prescription from spiraling. It’s exhausting having to swap out my lenses every single year—it's driving me crazy. If this helps me just keep things steady, I’ll call that a win.
So, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered them today... we'll see how it goes. Honestly, I’ve read enough about this stuff to be skeptical, so I ran a little experiment on myself. I actually made some makeshift paper glasses just to test the theory. Wore them for two weeks while watching TV, and yeah—I could actually see fine again with my current prescription. Meanwhile, back in September, my actual glasses were already too weak and I couldn't make out small print. Typical.
Been home for a while now... perfect excuse to get some practice in. Figured I'd focus on my eyesight and just see where it takes me. At least I can say I actually tried.

Quick question... I saw someone mentioning those holey glasses here. Not sure if there's a specific thread for them since I couldn't find one... but has anyone actually tried them lately? Look, I know they won't fix my prescription, but can they at least slow down the progression? Honestly, I'm sick of it—every single year after summer, I’m stuck buying new lenses or contacts because my vision just keeps sliding. God knows why. Since I've been hanging out at home more lately, I haven't been wearing my glasses much. Maybe they'd be good to use while I'm just zoning out in front of the TV? Anyone got the scoop? I'd really appreciate it.

So, does anyone else deal with this "spotting" thing? I honestly have no clue what it actually is... Google isn't helping much at all.
I've been dealing with it forever. First happened when I was 23, around day 10 of my cycle. Then nothing, then it pops up again after 2 or 3 cycles, then silence, and now here we are. Day 15. My OB-GYN says it's just normal ovulation bleeding... but I don't get why it happens, or why it doesn't happen every single time. Someone told me it's because an egg didn't release properly (??)... then another site says it's a hormone imbalance...
Then there's that pregnancy spotting... but from what I can tell, that usually shows up right around when you'd expect your period.
And then there's implantation bleeding... which is supposed to be about 10 days after conception.
So now I'm just sitting here wondering what's going on whenever it happens.
Anyway, I'm not on any hormones, though I have stopped using birth control here and there, so I'm just trying to figure out which type of spotting this even is...
And by the way, I'm not asking if I'm pregnant, I just want to hear your thoughts and experiences with this stuff...

My bad! I don't even know what "spotting" is meant to be... some kind of light bleeding??

Sophia Wells72 said:Seriously, everyone, try some real St. John’s Wort oil! I had this nasty boil right in that one awkward spot, hard as a marble, and I knew it was an ingrown hair or something. Since I couldn't be bothered to go out and grab some Neosporin, I just used the homemade St. John’s Wort oil my grandma made (it's great for drawing out boils). And man, it actually worked. It pulled everything right out. Four years ago, I also had this massive boil on my bottom lip—total amateur move, trying to mess with it myself. It got inflamed as hell, looking like a damn rainbow. It grew to almost the size of a walnut. Don't even get me started on the chaos down there. I couldn't sit, couldn't walk... anything hurt. I was basically living in skirts and loose underwear just to cope. Total nightmare. I almost went under the knife, but instead, I tried this: soaked some sterile gauze in the oil, tucked it into my underwear, and left it for a few hours. Changed it maybe 3 or 4 times a day. Every single time I went to swap the gauze, there was more pus being drawn out. After about 4 or 5 days, the whole thing just drained away. No scar, no inflammation, nothing. It hasn't come back since. 😁

Poor thing! You really went through it... yeah, I know that oil works wonders. Wish I had some in my cabinet right now... but once I can grab some, I definitely will. It's amazing for skin inflammation... honestly, props to you for fixing it. Natural stuff is usually better anyway, but people always take the easy way out by rushing to the doctor for a pill... 😉

Harold Stewart3 said:If your doctor tells you there aren't any side effects, find a new one. Clearly, they haven't even bothered reading the fine print on the pill bottle, let alone actually researching what they're prescribing...
Side effects are all over the map—everyone's different. Some people pack on weight, some get bloated, others deal with headaches (especially at first), nausea, depression, or a dead libido... then there's the real mess when you try to quit. Not everyone gets hit, but looking at this forum, most people do. Personally? I’m only okay with pills if it's the absolute last resort. If there’s any other way, don't go there...

I have to say, I'm right there with you. That's my whole argument. If there isn't a specific disorder making them necessary, then just don't. If your body is functioning normally without them, why mess with it? But hey, plenty of people are willing to gamble just because it's easy and convenient. Whatever. It's your life, but you better be ready for the fallout. You gotta realize those pills can cause just as much trouble as they provide relief.

LOL, alright guys, I gotta crack a joke or I'll lose it!!!!!! So, think of it like a Kinder Surprise! You get three things in one... the shock, the toy, and the chocolate... now we just have to see which ones actually match up with the real symptoms..
Anyway, hope you don't hate me... just a little joke... probably not my best move though.. I never really had issues with it myself.. 🙂

but yeah, I actually had to get my ugly pit lesion surgically removed... at an ER, in a busy city hospital... with a formal referral 🙂

exactly.. I used that stuff too.. but I didn't even have to squeeze anything.. it just flattened out and went away.. and the best part? the hair just popped right out! 🙂 since then, I haven't had any inflammation in that spot. honestly, none in my groin area either.. pure luck!!!!!🙏

A few months back, I popped this weird lump right on the outer edge of my bottom lip... showed up literally a day after I'd waxed the area. It started hurting like crazy, and when I felt it, it was this huge, hard knot. Honestly? I panicked. I usually follow this unwritten rule: give it three days, and if there’s no improvement, call a doctor. Well, Friday passed, Saturday came, then Sunday, and nothing changed. By Monday, I finally decided I had to do something or call someone. But then, weirdly enough, once I really looked into it, the pain just... vanished. The lump was still there, just painless. So I played it cool for another two days, dabbing on some Nivea and aloe vera, keeping a gauze pad over it so nothing would irritate it. Fast forward to day seven—the swelling went down, the pain was gone, and eventually, it just disappeared. Total stroke of luck. I’d already been mentally bracing myself for the nightmare of seeing a specialist and whatever procedures they might throw at me.
I once dealt with an ingrown hair in my groin area that lingered forever because I just ignored it. Eventually, I told my mom and sister, and they gave me some little cream to rub on the spot. Within a couple of days, it was gone.

Amanda Moore79 said:Like, if I don't wear a liner, I'm basically saying goodbye to my new black panties, if you catch my drift. 😉

I'm constantly wet, which is just great. Not exactly the vibe you want, especially in this summer heat.

And liners? They give me yeast infections. So yeah, just my luck.

The thing is, even the slightest bit of arousal means I have to change my underwear.

😢

Are you actually sure it's a full 30 days every month, excluding your period and ovulation? Because mine is all over the place... I realized it totally depends on my stress levels. If I'm worked up, the discharge kicks in. Like right now, it's been kind of weird for three days, just a little bit when I go to the bathroom. Honestly, who knows. 🤷

Ugh, hey! I don't know if you've ever looked into those blood type diets... I'm not sure how many people actually buy into it, but honestly? I think there’s some truth there. Every body is different. If you focus on eating what you're actually lacking instead of just overloading on stuff you already have plenty of, you could actually get your metabolism in check. 🙂
For instance, I read that my specific blood type is low on magnesium. So, I started grabbing some effervescent tablets, dissolve them, and drink—now I actually feel way more energized than before. Let's face it, nobody has the bandwidth these days to track every single thing they eat. Taking vitamins helps plug those nutritional gaps caused by crappy modern diets. I don't even touch coffee; I'm strictly a tea person. I even managed to talk my mom into it—she finally kicked her afternoon coffee addiction for good. Now she just sticks to green tea... keeps her going. 🙂

As for stress? It’s my absolute worst enemy. Pretty sure it's messing with my metabolism, but unfortunately, there's no quick fix for that. 😢

Oh, for sure! But you can never truly escape stress... life is just pure chaos. All you can do is grab any tiny moment of peace whenever it shows up. Maybe relaxing your body isn't a long-term cure, but even just doing it for a minute helps the system out... 👍

rowdylynx38 said:It’s all good, hiddentiger20.

The thing is, I never dealt with skin issues like this before. Not until I started birth control. So, there is zero chance I'm going back on them just to fix acne.

My skin looks fine today (got some tiny scars, but I'm using some Mederma so they're fading, plus no active breakouts). Who knows how tomorrow will go? That's the point. On top of that, the weight has always been an issue. But the pills made it worse—now my waistline is just... gone. I used to have one regardless of the scale, but now I've got this "spare tire" I can't shake. I thought maybe it was my thyroid, but everything came back normal.

Well, I honestly think if you could just get moving more... you know, doing some core work, waist exercises...
And maybe you're stressed too. Believe me, whenever I'm stressed, something else breaks. But I'm not looking to fix that with supplements—just making a change myself. Like actually trying to get some rest... though finding the time is a nightmare! 🤷

rowdylynx38 said:I have no clue when I brought up other pills 😕

I’m not looking to start taking anything like that again. Period. I was just asking if anyone else deals with this stuff or if there's some other test besides thyroid levels that might actually show something.

That's it.
Never said my health doesn't matter or that I want to be back on birth control.

Look, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to offend you. I just thought maybe you were considering going back on them, since I know plenty of women end up on the pill just to deal with acne..
I probably sounded harsh, but I really wasn't trying to be. 🙂

rowdylynx38 said:So I guess there's nothing left to do but be patient and wait for my body to fully reset?

I don't know how you view your own health, but isn't it obvious? Anything unnatural—especially pills—is just going to force your body to react...
Honestly, if these breakouts are just a side effect of quitting, they should clear up eventually... you just gotta stick to a skincare routine... or whatever your dermatologist tells you to do...
And look, since acne can get pretty nasty and deep, leaving permanent scars behind... I really hope it's not that bad for you... I truly believe you'll get through this...
Maybe hold off on the birth control for a bit. The worst part is that it takes the whole body seven years to fully regenerate... so yeah, you can't always expect results in a few months... sometimes it takes way longer... 👎
It’ll get better!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Lisa Barrett22 said:I deal with discharge all the time too. My doctor told me it’s totally fine unless it gets cloudy or starts smelling weird. 😁

Same here... though it isn't constant. It fluctuates. Sometimes it hits right during ovulation—like right now—which is actually helpful since I know I'm fertile. Other times it lingers after ovulation is over. Honestly, it’s never really worried me or made me think anything was wrong.

gentlecanyon92 said:I’ve never touched birth control. Honestly? I figured the side effects would totally outweigh any benefits... plus everything mentioned below. Besides, my sex life is fine without them.😬

From experience, I know exactly what those weird breakouts and hormonal "volcanoes" mean. My liver got absolutely wrecked after a heavy round of antibiotics—ever since then, I loathe anything that hits the liver because you have to take such tiny amounts to endure years of misery😁, and trust me, nobody wants to see what happens when your liver quits on you😁.. It eventually recovered in a few months, but my body had to purge everything through my skin (acne, pimples, redness, itching, dehydration, peeling...) for about a year and a half (basically the toxins the liver just can't process getting pushed out through the skin)... even though my liver was medically "fine," there were still toxins everywhere
.
So yeah, stopping the pill is just as much of a shock to your system as starting it. Your body is trying to flush out all the "junk" you accumulated over the years while trying to remember how to just be itself again. All those new issues you're dealing with? That's the proof right there. 😬

Trust me, doctors aren't going to help you much here😬.. For now, your best bet is just finding some decent skincare to manage the symptoms...

As for going back to your old pills, to me, it feels like sweeping trash under a rug. Sure, things might look better for a second, but imagine what your body is actually feeding on once your liver stops flushing it out😉.. You'll just end up quitting the pills again later, and the whole cycle restarts. I don't know, for those reasons, the pill will never be my thing. After everything I went through, I'm generally against dumping unnecessary stuff into my system🤷. Side effects are inevitable... and the truth is, most of them, doctors can't fix without just creating new ones🤣 🙂 but hey, I'm just one of those people who lost faith in doctors😬

I'm with you on this. Nothing is worth sacrificing your health for.. especially since most women want to have kids someday.. and you're just loading your body up with useless junk that requires even more cleaning later. Why do the work twice? Plus, everyday stress is already enough to make your body struggle, let alone adding a pile of pills that people take just because it's easy and convenient..

Carol Parker said:but honestly, I don't know anyone whose breasts actually grew from them. how much growth are we even talking about?
I’m genuinely curious here. I know two women who’ve been on them for years and their chests haven't budged an inch.
Basically nothing. Don't birth control pills just trick the body into thinking it's pregnant so ovulation doesn't happen?🤷

Yeah, they trick the system, but it's all through hormone control. If you actually pay attention to your cycle, you know progesterone and estrogen levels shift constantly... so the pill just messes with that balance.
To be honest, I have no clue which specific hormone does the heavy lifting, but I assume adding one causes that slight swelling. Like, a friend of mine is a size A, and she told me straight up her chest definitely filled out once she started taking them.
