Thanks! 🙂 I figured there had to be some kind of workaround for this modern era we live in 🙂 Does the receiver plug directly into that adapter? Or do you plug the receiver and the router into their own separate ports (since I see they come as a pair)?
Hey everyone! I could really use some advice regarding setting up a wireless connection for our AOL gear. Here’s the situation: we have the router plugged in (it's tucked away on a shelf) on Wall A, but the TV is all the way over on Wall B. A few years back, they installed an HD receiver for us, but they hooked it right up to the TV on Wall B and ran a cable straight back to the router. Honestly, I just can't stand that setup—there's no way to hide the wire in certain spots, and it would probably need to stretch about 30 feet just to loop around the doorway. Tearing into the drywall isn't an option for us right now, so I actually ended up unplugging the HD receiver and putting it away for the time being. On Wall B, we have an analog TV signal, but there's no internet jack, so we can't get the router and the TV on the same side. We're fine watching basic channels without the HD box for now, but we would love to be able to use the recording feature every once in a while. Is there any way to link the router and the receiver wirelessly, or maybe connect the receiver and the TV without cables? A friend of my mom's mentioned they got their home setup working entirely wirelessly, yet when I called technical support, they insisted it was impossible. I feel like I remember reading something on a forum about some kind of infrared solution ( 🤔 ), but I just can't track down the thread again.
Dana Wilson said:Don't get me wrong, but you ladies rocking those 34DD or 36E sizes—or even bigger—definitely aren't the target audience for "curvy" fashion lines 😍 It’s just about having larger attributes, plain and simple. Honestly, you guys confuse me with all this talk because, personally, I actually struggle finding stuff that fits my fuller shape and larger bust. Brands like Victoria's Secret or Aerie don't cut it for me at all. I've tried a few, and even with their largest sizes, everything just spills out the sides. Aside from maybe some pieces from Lane Bryant (and even then, I'm not thrilled), I seriously don't know of a single brand in the US market that carries a 42DDD or anything in that range. Everything is either designed for old ladies, comes in boring white, black, or nude, or it’s so tight I feel like I'm wearing a corset and gasping for air. And don't even get me started on the cleavage situation where everything just gets squished together instead of the bra actually giving you a nice, shaped silhouette... Oh, and let's be real: underwires on anything above a 40 band are basically useless, especially if the straps are narrower than an inch. Bottom line? Whoever decides to actually import high-quality stuff for us would make a fortune. 😍
It's the same story with other clothes in larger sizes too... everything is so limited. Meanwhile, the number of plus-sized people is growing, unfortunately... And from experience, I know that if you're stuck in clothes that are too small or pinching you, you're just going to end up stress-eating—like grabbing a donut just because you're frustrated with how you look—and that's definitely not going to motivate anyone to lose weight. (Though some people might think making things tighter is somehow supposed to motivate us! Yeah, right.)
Wow, I guess I really went on a rant there. ☕
Have you ever tried a minimizer, or have you mostly stuck to standard bras? I'm struggling a bit myself because since I finished breastfeeding, my chest hasn't really shrunk; if anything, it feels even larger now, and I dread thinking about what happens if it grows more. I’ve already told my husband that once I'm done with the whole pregnancy and nursing phase, I might look into reduction surgery—especially if things change after a second kid. For now, though, I'm just hunting for a solid sports bra or a good minimizer. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!
Finally getting around to sharing my little cake moment here! 😁 Just as a heads-up for anyone looking for dessert inspo, I picked this up from Emma’s Bakery—it was chocolate raspberry and honestly, just incredible. 😉

I stopped by that little bakery, "Sweet Treats," and they told me the exact same thing. But hey, it's all good—I'm pretty sure the decision landed on "Emma" over in Small Creek!
I actually ordered a cake and some treats from Emma too! I am seriously counting down the days until the cake arrives because the ones we sampled there were just incredible. Honestly, picking which chocolate one to go with was almost impossible!🙂
cosmicwalker17 said:I’m curious, ladies—what are you all charging per pound for your baked goods? Also, where did you pick up those little giveaway boxes for when people head home, and what was the damage to your wallet? I still need to hunt some down...
Well, cookie prices can vary quite a bit depending on where you shop—you might want to scroll through this thread or just ask about a specific local bakery.
We recently treated ourselves to some treats from Apple, and I have to say, those sugar cookies were absolutely delicious. On the other hand, the walnut pastries and the white cream pie were a total miss for us—just didn't hit the mark at all. It makes me think that maybe it just comes down to luck and which batch you happen to grab on any given day 🤷

I'm planning to pick them up in Washington, D.C. and drop them off at DBK 🙂
Any idea what the damage would be for that?
Thanks! 👍
All I know is that a close friend of mine spent ages hunting for the right stand—pretty sure it was a three-tier setup too—and she finally tracked one down at Nutrapak, so maybe give them a call and see what they have.
There’s actually an entire thread dedicated to wedding cakes and desserts where you could have dropped that question. Next time you're looking for something, maybe try doing a quick search through the existing topics first before starting a brand-new one just for the sake of it. You might find that the answer is already sitting there waiting for you! ☕

I actually grabbed her business card if you need the number... but make sure to give her a heads-up first... and keep in mind it's currently Lent... She only had a few specific varieties available for birthdays, but we tried some different ones last time... plus, I brought my mom along... she was absolutely thrilled! We ended up grabbing a mix of Victoria’s treats and Mi-Ma cookies... honestly, both she and I feel terrible that we didn't just get everything from Victoria... oh, and the price is $23/kg
velvetraven12 said:We finally picked up those pastries yesterday... we tried the nine-layer Canadian cream cake 😲 along with several other varieties... everything was absolutely delicious... the lady running the shop was incredibly kind, and the prices were more than reasonable!
How many cookies are actually in that little cookie shop? Btw, I didn't see anything mentioned about needing an appointment for a hearty meal, and man, I showed up last week only to find the doors locked tight. 🙄 Now I have to give them a call just to try and schedule something...
We swung by M's last night. We put our order in for the cake, though we didn't get a chance to sample the chocolate one since it wasn't quite ready yet. Basically, the cake works out to be $3.25 per head, and you just need to give them a heads-up about the guest count a week in advance, just like you would with any restaurant. The pastries are seriously delicious. A kilo usually runs $33, but if you decide to go big and grab more than 15kg, it drops to $30. Though, honestly, if you find anything wrong with the treats, don't blame the baker—blame the servers in the hall!
I have to say, those treats from Nutrapek were actually quite tasty, but I couldn't help but wonder... if they didn't even bother putting in the effort to cut them neatly for the wedding fair, what does that say about their overall attention to detail? It makes you think about things like that, doesn't it? 🤷
velvetraven12 said:My mom actually walked away with half a pound of free treats from a local bakery yesterday. At first, I told her they seemed a bit too self-assured about their quality... but once I realized which bakery it was, my reaction was a hard NO! After taking a bite myself, though, I had a total change of heart. I ended up bringing some over to a friend who is currently eight months pregnant and getting ready for her big wedding day. She called me just ten minutes later to tell me how much she absolutely loved them! I even took them to a choir rehearsal for a taste test, and everyone there agreed they were fantastic. Honestly, I think I've found my go-to dessert. We’re still planning to try these other cookies we heard rumors about, but honestly, it’s only so I can prove just how much better these ones are! 😁
Do you mind sharing which bakery it was, if you can?
mistygull12 said:Well, I will be heading over to Whole Foods tomorrow as well, as I have an appointment scheduled with the manager at 5:00 PM, so I intend to gather all the necessary details... I am looking to pick up about forty-five pounds of supplies for the holiday rush and, of course, a cake, but if there is anything specific you all might need, I would be more than happy to inquire on your behalf...
Do you have to give them a heads-up that you're coming, or can you just swing by and grab some samples to try?
Jacob White37 said:I am uncertain how much my standards have slipped, but I cannot comprehend why people claim these prices aren't exorbitant. To me, any price exceeding $27 per pound was always my threshold, yet we are now looking at 110 or even $40 😕
Everything is getting expensive these days, sure, but there are still some of us left who refuse to drop $33 on a handful of cookies 😉
boldpanther102 said:Just put a deposit down on them today! The price is $25. They're located over in Brooklyn, at 72 Queens St. I'll DM you the phone number
