Logest vs. Yasmin: Which one is better? in Women's Health ·
darkmaker said:Oh, she definitely confirmed it...

So, I just got my blood work back (I take Yasmin, so I stay on top of regular checkups), and well, Yasmin bumped up my cholesterol, lipids, and triglycerides—just slightly above the maximum limit. Apparently, Yasmin causes those to build up on the arterial walls. Before I started this pill, I had the exact same tests done and everything was perfectly normal, actually sitting right at the lower end of the scale. Yasmin says this is a direct consequence of the Yasmin, so I should probably take a three-month break to let those levels drop. If I don't, won't they just keep climbing? I've never had issues with my weight; it’s stayed consistent for years because I stay active through sports, so I'm quite fit and lean, and I don't eat fatty foods. I wasn't on any birth control before starting Yasmin, and I haven't had any side effects other than this. After my three-month break, I might consider switching to Logest, as I've heard it's much smoother and has the lowest hormone dosage.

She dealt with the exact same thing with Yasmin... the cholesterol and all that...
whereas when I was on Logest, I had a completely different experience... my liver enzyme levels absolutely hit record highs.

Is anyone else feeling a bit inquisitive lately? I find myself wondering about certain things. As requested by:
I'm not entirely sure if this topic has been posted already, but I figured there's no harm in double-checking, right? 🙂
So, I was on Yasmin for five months before my gynecologist switched me over to Logest four months ago. The reasoning given was that I was experiencing breakthrough bleeding every other month due to an "insufficient hormone dose." However, it turns out Logest actually has a lower dosage, which leaves me feeling quite confused about the logic behind the switch. Does anyone else find this approach a bit counterintuitive?
Looking for experiences and advice? You’re more than welcome here. 🙂

I haven't heard anything about those issues myself...
I know my cousin had a completely different set of issues while taking Yasmin. She was dealing with bleeding twice a month. Is that something anyone else has experienced?
Logest really speaks for itself. I was on it for over a year, and while I didn't run into any major issues, my periods would drag on for about 14 days straight. Is that common?
