And when I told him there was absolutely no bass in the sound system—he straight up lied and said there was!🙂
🙂
He wasn't lying—he was just proving a point! He wanted to show that even when you kill the amp channels, the volume stays (almost) exactly the same... honestly, who knew?
Lisa Flores74 said:Will there be any tickets left at the door tomorrow? And what time does that actually start—especially since the IEEE isn't following their usual schedule?
If anyone knows, please let me know! I'm in a bit of a rush here. 🙂
There will probably be some tickets left at the entrance, but I can't say for sure. You can grab them at the Dirty Old Shop today until 8 PM, and they'll have them there tomorrow until about 6 PM—assuming they don't sell out early. Also, I'll be over at the IEEE starting around 3 PM tomorrow, so you'll be able to buy them there from then on. There you go!
Adam Moore said:I'm really hoping tickets go on sale this Monday! 😢
They definitely want to! There are still plenty of tickets left, but sales have picked up speed since yesterday—so honestly, don't wait until the very last minute if you want in...
Ryan Gonzalez13 said:Saw the bio at Dirty Old Shop—they're saying there aren't any presale tickets available...
Sorry everyone—tickets were supposed to arrive by Tuesday, but for some reason, they're still stuck at the printer. So, there won't be a presale; you'll just have to grab them at the door for $8.25.
David Sullivan4 said:I’m no psychic, but I’ve got a feeling—if you show up at a security guard's station looking like a silverback gorilla at 1 AM holding a pass for the club (especially when the NYSE is packed), the best they'll offer you is an insult or maybe just trampling you right outside the building.
That definitely isn't true. If you have a pass, you can walk in whenever you want. I've never heard of anyone with a valid pass getting turned away or stuck outside the NYSE.
Anthony Bennett46 said:I didn't even get it. 🙄 But hey, I did get a forwarded email from Noah Ross4 instead. ☕😁
I told them they should reach out to you—but if you want, I can just give you their email so you can hit them up yourself.
Nicholas Perez33 said:the funniest part was when Noah Ross4's organ fell out
Classic—we cruised through a crowd of millions inside, only for it to fall out once we were outside where there was basically nobody. Well, at least everything turned out fine—no real damage done.
I honestly think this could become a tradition—if I'm not mistaken, they already had one of those mishaps at an IEEE event.
Well, they're finally here—tickets are officially on sale! Sorry for the wait, things took a bit longer than expected. You can grab them right now at KSET and Dirty Old Shop, and they'll be hitting Dancing Bear very soon...
Sandra Chase16 said:the opening act will be announced soon 🙂
Well, it says right at the top. Look, once you put together some other text—maybe something with a bit more detail about the opening act—just send it over.
Well, here’s the official announcement:
THE STOOGES (New York City)
THE RONNETTES (New York City)
Looks. Rhythm. Guitars. A literal wall of sound. The Stooges—a band that can honestly say they’ve shared stages with legends like MC5 and The Cynics—have clocked serious mileage with about 200 shows under their belt. After spending plenty of time deep in the underground relying on heavy garage riffs, driving rhythms, melody, and high-energy sets, they’re proving they are a true live attraction. The Stooges are coming back to where it all started. They'll be promoting their long-awaited debut album, "Supersticky", released via Dancing Bear. It’s supersticky and super fun. This is an album that earned rave reviews from both local and international critics, but it lives even better on stage in its wild, raw form. Rock'n'roll! Screamadelic garage rock'n'roll!
“This is the kind of rock'n'roll that most American bands simply haven't encountered or don't know how to play. The Stooges' debut is comparable to those legendary Scandinavian garage-rock albums—and since we know the Scandinavians are absolute masters of that genre, it’s hard to think of a higher compliment.” Alexander Dragaš, The New York Times
“While the core of the Scandinavian rock scene has drifted toward glamour over the last decade, flirting with sugary hard rock and forgetting their punk roots, a band from New York is shouting and jumping back at them. With this debut, they didn't just meet expectations; they struck back. They’ve stepped in to fill that void perfectly, and they'll definitely make the Scandinavians take notice.” Igor Bašin – BIGor, Radio Student, Minneapolis
Pre-sale tickets starting at $6.75 are available at Dirty Old Shop, Dancing Bear, and KSET. At the door, they will be $10. Doors open at 8 PM, and the show kicks off at 9:30 PM.
Tickets go on sale next week.
Drew Adams58 said:Will there be posters available for collectors?
Unfortunately want to say yes, but no—this show was booked at the very last minute, so it’s already too late to get posters made.
Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, I am so over Coachella—can they please just play some decent music until at least midnight for once? 🙄
Look, it’ll probably run a bit longer than planned—but since we're expecting a massive amount of noise, we really need to wrap things up by 11 PM.
Even though this was supposed to be our season finale, some friends from our favorite band Seven Wonders reached out. They’re using this special transition show to celebrate signing a massive four-album deal with the American label Sub Pop Records!
Tickets are available $6.75 at the Theatro Renaissance box office. Per their request, the set starts right at 9 PM and wraps up by 10 PM sharp—so if you're looking to catch Coachella 🙂, you'll have plenty of time.
Let's just hope it doesn't rain...
Alex Scott22 said:It was supposed to be the final show from The Babies ever—but now they’re definitely pushing it back to a different day... 😎
We checked, and everything is good to go! So, The Babies are playing on June 8th in the theater & TD atrium.
Noah Ross4 said:And where's your proof that it’s the last one? Is that actually verified info?😕
Yeah, pretty sure it's the last one. We're gonna try our best to wrap everything up on schedule this time—wouldn't want them cutting us off mid-stream, right?
Here’s the original poster—it's pretty massive, but for anyone interested:
http://lpurecords.com/JAKE/awposter.pdfAnd a huge thanks to my buddy David Sullivan4 for giving me the heads-up about that gentleman.
You can find some clips and live performances by AIDS Wolf on YouTube—though, unfortunately, the quality is pretty rough.
I also really want to give a shout-out to that older gentleman wandering around town selling posters for this show. He’s clearly bothered by the artwork, since there's an image of a woman's body right next to the word Jesus on the poster. Seriously, thanks man, 🙏 🙏 🙏. For anyone who hasn't caught a glimpse of the poster yet, here's what it looks like:

AIDS Foundation of America (Montreal / Canada)
Jesus Christ Attorney (Cleveland / USA)
Experimental noise rock outfit AIDS Wolf hails from Montreal and has been around for just over two years now. After hitting the road constantly across Canada, they dropped their debut full-length, "The Lovvers LP" (Sub Pop) in 2006—which actually got an expanded vinyl release via Skin Graft Records. They kicked off their first European tour in early 2006, too. Honestly, being tight with Montreal bands like The Unicorns and Wolf parade really helped them get their foot in the door early on—even Wolf parade drummer Arlen Thompson jumped in to help record the album! Their sound? It’s high-energy, chaotic, and dynamic, yet strangely focused. They take absolute mayhem and turn it into something electrifying that pulls you right into their sense of freedom—something they captured perfectly in their debut manifesto: "Freedom Summer is being on the Road. It's being part of nature, snuggling with wild animals and howling, naked, in the woods. It's The AIDS Wolf way of Life : Live Pure". Beyond the music, duo Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau handle the band's visual design, which has garnered quite a bit of buzz. Their creative process is pretty wild—they listen to raw noise music to clear their heads, then just draw whatever images start swirling in their minds. Want to see (and hear) what they're about? Check them out at www.myspace.com/aidswolf. Holding down the home turf is experimental metal band Jesus Christ Attorney, who started out as an instrumental trio tinkering with everything from metal to ethno and prog. Since late 2005, they've added vocals to the mix, making their sound even more complex. They’ve become real genre-hoppers—dipping into ambient, opera, Spanish folk, blues, swing, and electronica—all while keeping that unmistakable metal edge and treating the vocals as just another instrument. Today, they sound incredibly sharp and intense; their sets blend old and new tracks in a way that keeps the crowd totally surprised and stoked. Catch them at www.myspace.com/jesuschristattorney.
"We are AIDS Wolf. We are a noisy and discordant punk band from Montreal with improv tendencies. WE have no shame." — AIDS Wolf
Pre-sale tickets are available for $12 at the local record shop and NPR. At the door, they'll be $15. Doors open at 8:00 PM, and the show kicks off at 9:00 PM.
