Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Thanks... I'm going to head to my OB-GYN as soon as possible to figure out what's actually going on.

About four months ago, I stopped taking birth control. Since then, my period has been running a bit late—nothing major, just an extra 4 to 8 days. I used to deal with PCOS anyway, so my cycle was always pretty unpredictable...

But here's the thing. I was supposed to start my period about ten days ago, and it still hasn't shown up. That isn't even the main concern—it's that I had all the usual symptoms. My stomach and ovaries were aching, and I had that sharp pain in my lower back right before my period usually hits. Then, for two or three days, I had this dark brownish discharge. It felt like those few hours right before the actual flow starts, especially when I see red spots when wiping. Now I'm just confused. I also had terrible PMS symptoms; usually, my diet affects how I feel, but this felt different from my usual cycle...

I started drinking herbal tea meant to help regulate cycles. Could that be causing this?
Or is it possible my body is still just adjusting to being off the pill?
Thanks. 🙂

Anyone? I still haven't started... it's been 17 days now...

I'm dealing with something similar to what redpilot37 mentioned...

Thanks, much appreciated. 🙂 I'll likely have some follow-up questions, so I'll reach out then. 🙂

My diet has been pretty terrible lately, and I can tell it’s starting to take a toll on my health. Because of that, I’ve decided to overhaul the way I eat. I was wondering if anyone could explain what actually constitutes a healthy diet? Recipes would be great too—especially quick ones. Between working and being a student, I don't have much free time. Thanks. 🙂
Inflammation and thickening of the uterine lining in Women's Health ·
I got my Pap smear results back today. My OB-GYN told me I have a vaginal infection. He gave me two packs of Canesten suppositories to use at night and told me to come back for a follow-up Pap after my next period. He said there’s nothing to worry about. I asked him about sex—specifically if we need to use protection or if we're okay without it. He said we don't need to. I’m on birth control, and my boyfriend and I usually have unprotected sex. I'm wondering if I could have passed this to him, or if we should be using extra protection so I don't pass it over. My doctor was pretty blunt with his answers, which honestly just leaves me feeling more confused than when I walked in.

Aaron Fowler83 said:See a neurologist if this just started happening. If you've dealt with it your whole life, there's no need to panic. A huge portion of the population struggles with spatial orientation. There are exercises designed specifically for that.

I’ve only recently started paying attention to this, but it's been an issue for me for a long time. What kind of exercises? Where can I find them? Does anyone here know?

I don't mean to constantly bump into things, but it happens at least once a day. It isn't even like I'm walking straight into something like a wall; I just catch the edge of it from the side. I didn't realize it was sitting that close to me.

Sam Hall15 said:Can you clarify what you mean by disorientation?

Well, I tend to run into closets, walls, or doors... I've also noticed that while I'm driving—I'm actually at a driving school right now trying to pass my exam—I struggle to figure out where my car is or which way I can go, especially in parking lots or when looking in the rearview mirror. Generally, I miss things unless I'm hyper-focused, like trams, cars, or pedestrians...

Angela Wright said:I have endometriosis, so that wasn't even an option for me. I was prescribed Yasmin because it essentially puts my ovaries into a state of rest.

Is endometriosis just another way of saying PCOS? I hope that doesn't sound stupid, but I'm definitely not an expert on this stuff.
What do you know about it? I want to have kids someday.
Liver and ovarian health issues in Health ·
I had my follow-up appointment with the OBGYN yesterday. She gave me Yasmin and told me to come back in a few months to redo my blood work to see how it’s affecting my liver. I’m just hoping there are no lasting side effects.

I'll follow up regarding Yasmin and have a word with the doctor... this really matters to me.

I recently found out I have PCOS, but at the same time, I’ve got some liver issues that mean I’m supposed to stay away from pills. The problem is, I need them to manage my ovaries. What now? Does anyone know of a solution where I don't have to choose between one or the other?
