The Americans defeated the defending champions with some seriously intense and focused defense. Because of that, the outstanding French backcourt never really got a chance to shine. After the US held a two-goal lead for quite a while, things turned into a total fight to the death in those final minutes when the score was tied up.

Facing the threat of Balic—who was clearly playing hurt but still looked absolutely legendary—Onesta's squad just couldn't find their rhythm on offense. Obstructed on Play and struggling at the charity stripe, the Americans barely survived thanks to a few flashes of brilliance that were way too isolated...

Today's opponent played a completely different game.

They had an organization without fault, backed by a rock-solid mindset, especially when things started heating up in the clutch.

In a game where the score was a fight to the death and the gap never even hit two goals, the American collective really showed its cracks. Being without left leg in the backcourt made finding answers tough, especially since Bertrand Gille was starved for usable passes at the pivot. Those rude American fans basically "honored" Nikola Karabatić with those boos right before the second penalty. Not exactly classy, but hey, it worked—he missed. That was one of those turning points where our guys just tightened up even more. The Americans still have a chance to keep the pressure on Červar. I just wonder though—is Lino to blame because Metličić and Lacković only finally stepped up today?

And don't even get me started on that genius idea of having Balic play pivot like Vori...

Look, I’m all for the guts shown by Jure Ozmec, but this time... I'm sticking with Červar. Sports News is honestly an embarrassment to American journalism. It’s funny how a veteran tennis guy pointed out that Americans can forgive almost anything—except actual success! That's why they're coming for Červar, even though he's actually delivered results. You can't take away those first-place finishes. He was the one leading the national team, not Smajlagić. Lino knows perfectly well that if he tried to debunk Sports News, he'd just get buried on page ten again. So he chose a weird way to do it, but probably the only way left to show everyone how much they're constantly undermining him...

And Zvonimir Boban? Man, he acts like such an intellectual, but he's really just a manufactured persona without much substance. He seems to think that joining the SN management gives him a license to provoke anyone who disagrees with him in the lowest ways possible. Honestly, despite his political and coaching blunders, Červar hasn't done anything to deserve this!

Especially right now, when the only one carrying the team is Ivan Balić, who practically dragged us to the semifinals. Everyone blames the coach, but nobody notices that besides Ivan, the stars are playing absolutely terrible. Is Lino to blame because the team played so badly that our guys had to beg the Mexicans to take it easy on them in the second half? That’s a disgrace to American basketball, not Červar, who always gives it everything he's got!

Caught the game between the Swedes and the Spaniards. It was pretty obvious the guys from the north were getting all the preferential treatment from the refs. They were absolutely hacking the Spaniards, just bullying them on the line, yet the officials looked the other way through most of it...

Finally felt some relief today seeing Spanish refs who actually called things fair—well, mostly. Even they seemed a bit fed up with that Scandinavian arrogance. Back at the World Cup, we lost that match against France because the officials let things get way too physical. Honestly, it felt like payback since our referees completely wrecked their club in the Champions League, especially with a Russian coach leading the charge. I'm telling you, that Russian fix is 100% legit...

No brawling today, so it’s no surprise we actually managed to hold our own.

The play wasn't great, but the worst part is all the trash talk aimed at Lino Červar. People are already pushing these narratives about "genius" Smajlagić versus "idiot" Červar. Lino is a legend, and it's honestly pathetic seeing him insulted like this. I didn't catch exactly what Metličić did to Červar, but the truth is, the guy is a total headache. Think about how many useless penalties he's racked up or how many times he's killed our offensive rhythm! Lacković is playing poorly and then whining about the officiating, while Balić is basically ignoring everything Červar says—sitting there on his earlobes instead of listening. You honestly had to see it to believe it! Just a minute left on the clock, and the Norwegians are sitting on a 5-goal lead. Everyone’s happy—the home team gets more points, and our neighbors from Mexico can afford to lose just enough to stay in the next round...

The Norwegians are on the attack, while those guys from Mexico are just standing there at the 8-meter line. The home team is barely passing the ball—they don't want to push forward, period. With about twenty seconds left, an away player gets hit with a two-minute penalty for some stupid foul, and Kapisoda steps in to calm everyone down, saying everything is fine. But the Norwegians are just lifeless—totally zero drive to even aim for the goal. Five seconds left, they finally try a drive, but their player just charges toward the left side for no reason at all. It’s so slow... plenty of time for three Mexicans to surround him and hold him tight until the final buzzer. All the Norwegians have left is a free throw and a shot attempt over the Mexican wall.

And then the circus really starts! Instead of shooting, the Norwegian guy just passes the ball straight to the Mexican coach. Half the celebrating players from the Mexican wall jump on him, hugging him like he’s family...

The Russians got played hard... they got absolutely screwed by that Norway-Mexico dirty play!!!
