It’s honestly wild to think about the US beating Poland. Those guys are at their absolute physical peak right now, but if they can pull this off despite all the drama, their confidence would be through the roof heading into the next round. Honestly, though? I wouldn't be surprised if the Czechs just fold after the first round of this group.

Sure, their confidence might be at rock bottom, but don't forget they know exactly what they're up against (I'm talking media disrespect, pay cuts, and Lin being publicly crucified in the press right in the middle of the campaign before the EP). On the flip side, the Kadeten squad is seriously weakened without those two players—they're the heart of the defense. They haven't lost by 14 points like that in Switzerland for five years, so with a packed arena and all that extra pressure, I honestly think Washington, D.C. could pull off a top 16 finish...

Of course, theories can always fall apart, but I feel like this is a line you just can't cross...
