Commuting to work by bike in Cycling ·
lonebadger39 said:I head to work every single day on my bike regardless of what the weather is doing, covering about a mile each way.

My routine is somewhat similar—and yes, I also ride regardless of the weather—covering about half a mile each way, though I tend to pedal back home during my lunch break, which means I rack up 2.8 miles miles every single day. It has been going on for eighteen years now... an absolute infinity loop. 🙂

I didn't spot any cameras at all, nor did I catch sight of any photojournalists—though I’m well aware they were present. Perhaps the spectacle simply wasn't quite captivating enough to warrant a full television broadcast, and even the major news outlets seemed rather indifferent, failing to make much of a fuss about the concert.
All things considered, the media coverage was a bit of a mess, wasn't it? But then again, those who needed to be there showed up, and those who actually attended the concert certainly don't need a review from someone who was simply assigned a deadline rather than someone who truly understands the soul of what a musician creates—though I suppose there are always exceptions to that rule.
I took it upon myself to record several segments of the concert using my phone—which actually has a fairly decent camera—just so I could revisit the performance later and dissect it at my own pace.

There was quite a crowd of photojournalists there, actually. I managed to snag a spot right near the stage—close enough that the laser harp appeared to me as nothing more than a single, continuous beam of light. Still, if you looked up toward the roof of Madison Square Garden, you could see just how many of them were stationed there. ☕ Well, there are certainly some decent recordings out there to watch. I am uncertain what you might be trying to convey with that particular expression. Could you perhaps clarify your meaning?I had actually hoped to capture a few shots with my camera, but I didn't get anywhere with that. It turns out that when you're dealing with security at the entrance, physical presence is clearly what matters most. 😲 Is it practically a photo? Is there truly nothing more exhausting than encountering such sheer, unadulterated incompetence? One has to wonder if some people simply wake up each morning with a dedicated commitment to being an absolute idiot, or if it’s a talent they cultivate through years of persistent, mindless effort. It’s just a bit too much like slr-lika, isn't it?

So, I suppose that’s that, then. Nothing comes of it. 🤷 Perhaps I am mistaken, or perhaps they have simply vanished into the woods. 🤣
Does anyone happen to know if NBC might have recorded a concert like this, perhaps for a later broadcast or a special late-night airing? 🤷

But honestly, it’s such a brilliant track, isn't it? 🙏

Could someone please be so kind as to upload a recording of the Souvenir of China tour if anyone has it? I feel as though I've watched a million different versions online already, but I find myself wondering what that night in New York City was actually like. ;(

There is a certain, albeit meager, consolation in knowing I won't be in New York City, though one wonders if that truly makes up for the loss.😠

And perhaps I should just harbor a bit of resentment toward you all for making me feel this way.😁

He’ll be performing in Denver on October 18th, the day before, and then later in Vienna. Close enough, I suppose.

Why is there always this tendency toward quasi-elitist nitpicking? The arguments follow the same tired script: he’s thirty years too late, his career is on the decline, where was he back in '91 when things were truly peaking?

Sure, if we are being honest, there probably should have been three hundred people in the arena—but I am talking about those who truly grasp the essence of Jean-Michel Jarre. Those who connect with him down to the core. 🙂

Admittedly, there might have been a bit more energy 😬from the crowd, and perhaps he could have mixed in some other tracks (though even that is debatable, as three people in an audience rarely share identical tastes), but the reality is that, at least for me, it was two brilliantly spent hours. I am still processing my impressions, and I find myself regretting that I waited this long to experience him live.

It was a lovely departure from the usual musical offerings in the city. People came specifically to immerse themselves in the music. It is a shame he hasn't toured through New York City before (did he ever perform in the old US regions?), but I sincerely hope he keeps his promise to return one day.

If one had a grievance to lodge with the organizer, it would be that they might have lowered the ticket price slightly to ensure a fuller house. Isn't it always preferable to perform before a packed auditorium rather than a half-empty room? 😁

I would agree that the ticket prices were perhaps a bit excessive. Even if they had been half the cost, I doubt a 10-20% difference would have significantly shifted the attendance numbers.

On another note, it is rare for me to feel genuinely agitated, but yesterday really got under my skin. (Is that too much information?) 🤣

I feel compelled to also express my thoughts regarding the security staff near the C-tribin; I encountered an individual whose intellectual capacity was questionable at best, someone who clearly didn't understand how photography works and wasn't particularly gifted at holding a conversation either. 🤦

Anyway, I went home, and all in all, I've moved past it (I've already uploaded plenty of footage to YouTube).

And as for bis... 🙂
It’s not that I don't recognize them, but if I ever caught one of their tracks playing on some local radio station... I honestly can't recall a specific moment...
