Is this Newegg location actually losing its mind or something? Because it feels like nobody wants to put anything together there anymore!!! I’d honestly love to just pick up my gear at Micro Center or maybe Future... but the whole tax refund situation makes it such a headache for me...

Look, I'm coming over from Canada, so my best bet is just to head down to San Diego to hit up the Newegg store—either grab parts or the whole rig at once—and then deal with the sales tax refund on the way back... that's why I was really pushing for getting everything assembled right there at the Newegg location!

So, I've got some $2667 money coming back from my tax return, and the easiest way to blow it is probably hitting up the Best Buy in San Diego. I'm looking to pick up a case, a mouse, and a keyboard... honestly, I think an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 should be enough to serve as the foundation for this build. Any help with putting the whole thing together would be huge—thanks in advance for the effort! It's mainly for gaming...

So, I’ve got a chance to snag a brand new i5-2400 for $333. If it’s really just a tiny bit faster than an i5-4440—like, maybe 10-15% at most—and the B75 motherboard is sitting around $133, I'm kinda torn... Is it actually worth dropping $167 more to just go with the i5-4440 instead?

The case isn't exactly anything to write home about, and neither is the motherboard... but honestly, when you're working with a tight budget, you just take what you can get, right? You actually have a pretty decent power supply though, so you could probably throw in a GPU like an R9 280 and be fine. Also—just a heads up—you've only got 4 GB of RAM here, which you'll definitely need to bump up to 8 if you want to actually play games seriously. And keep in mind this motherboard only has two RAM slots, so once you pop in a second 4 GB stick, both slots will be totally full...
