Gaming PC build under $400? in Desktops ·
Anyone else weighing in? I suppose this Ryzen seems like a decent enough choice.
Gaming PC build under $400? in Desktops ·
Hey everyone.

So, I'm looking to put together a decent gaming PC that won't break the bank. My budget is roughly $900, so if you have any suggestions on what offers the best bang for my buck at that price point, I'd appreciate it.

I was eyeing this bundle, though I'm not entirely sure if it's actually worth it. I was originally aiming for a Ryzen 5 2600, and I think I saw some listed on eBay for about $233. Just to clarify, I don't need to include an HDD or an SSD in this budget.

As for the graphics card, I'll probably just pick up a used one that hasn't seen too much heavy use.

Well, damn, I wasn't really paying close attention while I was staring at everything, and I think I may have made a bit of a mess of things. Now, I’m thinking about just selling the whole setup—even if I only get $1,500 for it—so I can eventually upgrade my PC. I don't need anything crazy, just something decent. I might have even kept the RTX 3060 for myself, but I suppose nobody would want to buy a rig without a graphics card anyway.

Well, I suppose that 160GB one might be $33, but the one from an IBM ThinkPad is definitely around $83, since it's pretty recent. I've noticed they're going for about $50-$60

So, I guess I dropped the ball a bit and missed out by nearly $333. To be honest, I don't really think two HDDs are worth $50; I’d say a fair price is closer to 200-250, and that goes for the RAM too, I suppose...

I picked up a PC a few months back for $767, and looking back on it today, I have this nagging feeling I overpaid quite a bit. I probably could have scored something much better for the price. Does anyone know what a realistic resale value would be right now? It’s in great shape and hasn't given me any trouble at all.
