I absolutely love the sound of the accordion, and honestly, I’m totally on board with everything everyone has said here so far. I’m just really glad someone finally started this thread; it’s refreshing to see such a smart discussion happening. It actually makes my hair stand on end—which, let’s be honest, isn't exactly my best look 😎—just thinking about all those silly prejudices people have toward such a beautiful instrument.
As most of you probably already know, the accordion is a staple in French folk music, and if you listen to the soundtrack from the movie "Amélie"—which is hands down my favorite score and the only one I actually own on vinyl—it’s just overflowing with those gorgeous accordion melodies.
