That is so true! But hey, if you’ve got a killer heatsink, you can actually get some pretty decent overclocking out of them. That stock cooler they give you? Man, it sounds like a jet engine taking off right next to your ear! It's loud as heck.

So, I finally got my hands on this Gigabyte Radeon 1950 Pro! Honestly, I’ve been eyeing this card for a minute now, and having it sitting right here on my desk feels awesome. It’s one of those pieces of hardware that just makes you excited to get back into the rig and start testing things out. I can't wait to see how it handles some heavy lifting!

I’ve been playing around with some overclocking lately, pushing both my motherboard and my processor to see what they can really do! I kept things steady at a standard voltage of 1.325v, and here is the breakdown of the results I managed to pull:
The CPU Front Side Bus is running at 366 MHz!
I finally hit that sweet spot! I just managed to push my processor speed up to 3300 MHz!
Everything seems to be running smooth at first! But here’s the catch: once I bump the voltage up to 1.400 and crank that FSB to 400 MHz, the system stays stable for just a few minutes before it suddenly decides to reboot on me.
Right now, I’ve managed to push the Front Side Bus up to 366 MHz, and honestly? It’s rock solid! No crashes, no weird glitches—it’s running perfectly smooth without any issues at all.
I ended up using the Thermaltake Big Typ VX AlCu Cooler to keep my processor chilled!

People were saying the Radeon 1950 Pro didn't have much room for overclocking because that GPU clock speed was already sitting pretty high at 575 MHz.
Man, we’re really pushing our luck here! I'm honestly convinced this Radeon is just begging to be overclocked. It feels like it's got so much more potential hiding under the hood!
So, I decided to rip off my old Zalman cooler and swap it out for a Coolermaster CoolViva Pro! Honestly, I was pretty curious to see if it would actually make a difference. After getting everything hooked up, I ran some tests, and here’s what I found:
I managed to push my standard 575 MHz up to a solid 722 MHz!
So, I decided to mess around with my RAM today! It’s running at a standard 690 MHz right now, but I managed to push the overclock up to 817 MHz. Not too shabby, right?

I was running this setup on a 530W Hyper Modular power supply!
I've got some 2 GB of Kingmax PC6400 (800MHz) RAM up for grabs, and I’m tossing in a Thermaltake Big Typ VX AlCu Cooler CPZ-Z passive memory heatsink to sweeten the deal!

Alright, here’s the deal! A buddy of mine has this rig, so I decided to tinker with it a bit and overclock it just to give it some extra pep in its step.

The Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz (running at 1607 MHz) is now hitting 1841 MHz after I bumped the voltage from 1.3V to 1.4V.

It's running on a brand new ASUS motherboard.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 was sitting at 196,250, but I got it up to 230,280! The catch is, I'm using ATI Tray Tools, and every single time I boot up the computer, it resets back to 196,250. Does anyone know how to make these settings stick so I don't have to manually tweak the clocks every time I turn it on?

1× 512 MB TwinMOS DDR 400
1× 256 MB JetRAM DDR 400

Also, if anyone knows the trick to overclocking these RAM sticks, please let me know!
I’m also curious—how much more juice can I actually squeeze out of this CPU and GPU? And honestly, how far have any of you guys pushed your hardware? I read somewhere that someone managed to take a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz from 1600 MHz all the way up to 2200 MHz just by bumping the voltage by 0.2V!
