I’ve likely got a Trojan sitting on my computer right now, and not a single antivirus program is picking up on its presence. What’s the best free software out there that can actually sniff out a Trojan?

I’ve got it right here, and once again, absolutely nothing happens.

Give Spybot a shot... maybe even Ad-Aware... or AVG antivirus

Look, whenever I find myself in a situation where something suspicious has crawled its way into my system, my go-to move is simply to wipe the drive and format everything... Honestly, I’d highly suggest you take that same route because it’s the only way to be absolutely, 100% certain that the Trojan is dead and gone for good👍.
The only real headache with that approach is that you lose every single file sitting on that hard drive. To get around that, I usually set up two separate partitions: I keep all my precious photos and essential programs on one partition so they stay safe and untouched while I clean the other one

Heh. You guys are such rookies. Want to know how my PC became the most legendary machine on the block? Well, I picked it up back in October 2004, and I didn't bother running a single antivirus scan for two whole years. When I finally decided to run one, you wouldn't believe the haul. It flagged 450 Trojans and about 2,300 smaller infections—basically just straight-up viruses. So, I guess you shouldn't be whining about just one little thing.

You really ought to boot into Safe Mode first and then run full scans with every tool you have at your disposal. The fundamental issue is that certain pieces of malware refuse to be deleted while Windows is fully active, so if you switch to Safe Mode, you can catch them while they are dormant and wipe them out completely.

The best free option out there is Super AntiSpyware Free Edition. It managed to clean up everything on my machine, including all those programs that snuck themselves onto my computer without my permission. I had 15 Trojans and a few backdoors hiding in there.

I am not entirely sure if you have anything more productive to occupy your time, but I suppose everything seems effortless when one simply has an image available on the internet.
