How am I supposed to tell if my OC actually worked? I'm running those classic Ballistix sticks (4x1GB 800MHz @ 930MHz??). My BIOS says the frequency is 930, but when I fire up CPU-Z, it shows 465. Is that just a math thing where 465x2=930? Also, what’s the deal with the FSB:DRAM ratio being 2:3? What does that even mean? Thanks for the help!

Cooler Master Cosmos case was being showcased back in March at a big tech expo in Vegas, and if I’m not mistaken, they're already available for purchase here in the States. They had two of them hooked up side-by-side running horizontally. Honestly, I'm not a fan—there's zero noise dampening for the GPU or any of the other components.

It’s just a damn shame that finding parts for PC Modding over here is a total nightmare—honestly, it's pathetic.

And whatever little bit of stock actually exists is either overpriced garbage or just plain broken.

This dude is insane. Seriously, mad respect. It’s obvious he does some kind of high-end modeling or something similar.

Does anyone know who makes this case? It was shown at CES this year—I totally blanked on the name—and I'd love to hear what you guys think about it:

Yeah, I saw what you wrote.

But would it be possible to trigger it through the PC's audio jack? That way you could actually control the lighting more precisely.

I'm just gonna build one single panel out of a new sheet I'll shape myself. I'll throw on 3 or 4 blue fans and some blue lights, and that’s basically it—once I figure out the config, I'm done.😁
And about $1667 ...👍

This case is gonna cost me a fortune.
The spray paint is easily around $17, three fans will run me about 100, and the sheer willpower? Priceless.

If you've got the drive, you'll definitely pull it off. Just listen to what Matesonic said: use a utility knife to cut it. Whatever you do, don't touch a hammer or tin snips.

Btw, does anyone know how to make PC Modding lights pulse to the beat of music? (Specifically, I just want them hitting on the bass). I saw on YouTube that it's possible, but I can't find any actual diagrams or guides.🤣 All I can find are VU-meter circuits, but I doubt the chips used in those are powerful enough to drive LED strips. I think there was a thread about this on this forum before, but I can't track it down.👍

Thanks. I actually went back and dug through the overclocking tutorials on this forum, which cleared everything up for me. Much appreciated.

Wait, what the hell is that even supposed to mean?

So I became a member here but I just realized this thread already exists. Let me rephrase my question: why on earth is my RAM running at such a pathetic 339MHz??

I’ve got a Q6600 overclocked to 3.05GHz and I'm rocking 3GB of RAM (basically 2x 512MB & 2x 1GB sticks). Could that be the issue? My motherboard is an ASUS P5B.
When I was overclocking the CPU, I had to dial back those memory multipliers—whatever they're actually called—otherwise the damn thing wouldn't even boot with the CPU OC. Even though the BIOS claims the RAM frequency is 680MHz.
Thanks

Can anyone recommend some high-quality 5.25" fan controllers that can handle at least four fans? I've got a ton of them to manage. Let's skip the price talk for now—I care about quality and what specific specs I actually need. I stumbled upon this one, which fits my needs perfectly, but it's way too overpriced for what it actually does: LINK. Thanks.

nothing crazy—just two neon strips and water cooling 😉

what kind of specs are you running (since you're using water cooling)? because that GPU looks pretty mediocre.

Just ask the guy if he can order it for you, though IMO there are way better cases out there.

And which ones are better in your opinion? I couldn't find anything similar, so I'm asking.

Does anyone actually know where I can pick up a Thermaltake V9 around here? If it’s not available locally, maybe check a US web shop or eBay. Thanks.

The Blue Orb FX definitely outperforms the stock cooler!👍👍
My CPU idles at about 35°C and hits maybe 47°C under load, but that rarely happens since my processor almost never pulls more than 60% usage!😁☕

Here's another one since the site wouldn't let me add it to my original post:

redmason said:😍😉 thanks 😍 ...I installed my rack yesterday ...it's a pretty slick setup for cable management... bought it via the link for $10, but since the PSU isn't modular, I've got nowhere to hide the extra cables... I'm totally out of ideas for what else to throw in there, give me some suggestions, I was thinking about something like this... http://www.amazon.com/description/item/014360

I've got a non-modular PSU too, so I just dealt with it! It could have looked better, but hey, it is what it is!

As for that potentiometer, you don't actually need it. From what I can see, you only have two fans (not counting the PSU fan), which shouldn't be making much noise anyway (definitely staying under 30 to 35 dB). Honestly, it feels like you just want those potentiometers because they look cool in the case, not because you're worried about the noise!
😁

Here are my photos 🤣🤣:

Basically, both me and redmason want you to tell us what else we should upgrade or fix on our cases!

PS: redmason, why don't you just grab an LCD instead of using a CRT? If I'm seeing that correctly, you're still rocking a CRT!

redmason said:super nice 👍 ...here are some pics of mine... nothing crazy in terms of PC Modding, but there you go..:

ungsa hit the nail on the head! those neon lights look great, and the case is solid! if you actually want this to look good, put in some damn effort and fix those cables! hide some behind the motherboard tray and tuck the extras under the side panel! also, you really ought to slap another fan in the back. I see you have the mounting spot for it, but it’s just sitting there empty!

Edward Peterson70 said:I was trying to figure out how to improve my mouse glide while I wait for some PTFE tape to arrive.
Since I'm using a hard plastic pad, there wasn't much risk in experimenting.
First, I tried using a plastic cleaner spray, something similar to this.
That spray just degreased the surface and actually made the glide worse.😢
Then I tried using some wood polish and stumbled onto a winning combo.
I sprayed the pad

and buffed it out with a soft cloth.
THE MOUSE IS FLYING!!! 😁

The pad is slick but doesn't feel greasy.
To my surprise, my hands don't even smell like polish afterward.😍
It's a cheaper and, in my opinion, better solution than RAPTOR GLIDE spray meant to boost mouse glide on pads.
Definitely give it a shot if you can.

Smart move!👍👍🙏🙏

Anthony Myers5 said:Can someone recommend a decent case? $200 Ve-mil says this looks great and cools well, but I don't know about that. What do you guys think?

Check out this link for the specs on that unit: http://www.ve-mil.com/product-details.aspx?id=7770019

Just pick whatever case you want since you clearly have your own taste! Honestly, it doesn't matter—all of them have enough airflow to keep things cool.
