Here is my personal rule of thumb for managing indoor climate. The most important factor is the delta between the outdoor temperature and your indoor setting; you really shouldn't let that gap exceed 7 degrees, though aiming for a 5-degree difference is even more effective.
To put it plainly, if you are facing a brutal heatwave with temperatures hitting 100°F outside, you should set your thermostat to no lower than 85°F rather than cranking it down to a freezing 72°F. But of course, people rarely listen—they complain about the heat and then insist on dropping the AC to 72°F just to feel a temporary relief. That is exactly when the real problems start.
My brother’s kid is dealing with something remarkably similar, and the doctors are currently leaning toward that specific diagnosis. We’re waiting on the genetic results, which should hopefully be back in two or three weeks. I can't help but wonder if there is any existing therapy or medication available, or perhaps some glimmer of hope from global research—something akin to the breakthroughs made by Dr. Stagg in New York City or similar institutions. I find myself watching the scientists very closely because I am already navigating this with my own daughter, who lives with Cystic Fibrosis. Now, with my brother facing these mitochondrial issues, it feels almost impossible to process. I realize that life often hands us these heavy fates, but I find myself wondering where it all ends when it starts this way. I just don't know.
Hello, I have a question for anyone who might be familiar with the following condition:
Mitochondrial multisystem disease. Is there perhaps a layman's explanation available for this? Furthermore, does anyone know if there are any specialized clinics or treatment centers anywhere in the world that focus on managing such a diagnosis?
So, I finally got my hands on DVDFab Platinum, and it managed to burn exactly what WinZip couldn't handle. My sincere thanks to everyone for the help.
It really is an impressive bit of software; the sheer number of options available is quite something.
On my machine, the process takes a bit longer than expected, especially since I'm working with a single LG DVD-RW.
I do have one more question regarding the workflow: when I’m burning a disc, the software first reads the data and creates an image, then ejects the disc so I can insert a blank one to begin the actual burn. That part works fine. The issue is that I can't touch anything else on my computer while this is happening—I even have to disable my screensaver. If any other task starts up, the whole copying process freezes completely, forcing me to hard-reboot the system just to get things back to normal.
For reference, here is my current setup:
Intel Pentium 4
ASUS A8N series
2x256 MB RAM
ATI Radeon X700 Seagate Barracuda 160
Maxtor 160 GB UDMA 133 IDE
LG DVD-RW
I've received conflicting advice, with some suggesting the processor is the bottleneck and others pointing toward the RAM.😕
I am planning to upgrade to 2x1024 MB of higher-quality RAM very soon, and I'm wondering if that will partially alleviate this issue, or if I'll still run into these walls once I start using X2.😕

Does anyone know where I can pick up a copy of DVDFab Platinum, and is it something you have to pay for?
I’ve been running into similar hurdles lately whenever I try to deal with more recent movie releases.
