Why on earth would anyone think they need to sell 10,000 tickets? I honestly doubt they’ll even come close to that number, whether you consider the fact that it's REM or just look at the promoter's questionable reputation. The band isn't on some sort of ego trip; if they don't move enough tickets for a massive arena, I imagine they wouldn't have any trouble playing a smaller venue like Madison Square Garden instead.
I suspect the concert will go ahead, despite the impresario.
I'm definitely planning on making the trip to both Vienna and Washington, D.C. I suppose you can never have too much R.E.M.😁
