Oh, man, bluebison47... this is a total classic. I remember back in the day, things used to absolutely go nuclear over stuff like this in places like Chicago...
You hit the nail on the head. That M8 is an absolute beast of a phone—honestly, paired with the Xperia Z3, it’s easily the finest Android experience on the market right now. You just can't go wrong with them. But more importantly, these devices actually last and perform exactly how they're supposed to, which is the one thing that truly matters when you're buying hardware. Right now, I'm bouncing between an HTC and an Xperia. If I'm being honest, the Xperia feels a bit snappier and just flows better during daily use, but from a pure design standpoint, the HTC is much more attractive... it's just easier on the eyes overall.
Buying some cheap Chinese knockoff for $1000 just because it boasts a 20-megapixel camera is like chasing a cheap thrill during the World Cup... it's a total sucker's bet.
All those cheap budget options are nothing more than a complete scam. A buddy of mine picked up some low-end smartphone from one of those discount shops over at the mall. On paper, the specs look decent enough—it’s got a 5-megapixel camera which, I guess, is fine for a bottom-tier device, and so on and so forth. But honestly, once you actually hold the thing, it feels like you're gripping a cheap bathroom tile. The edges are rough, the design is an absolute joke, everything runs incredibly sluggishly, and the battery life is a total disaster—one minute it says 30%, then it just dies completely... And don't even get me started on calls. You have to crank the volume to the max and find the quietest room in the house just to hear the person on the other end clearly. Thanks, but no thanks... $300I have zero interest in paying for garbage. You're much better off dropping a few extra bucks now so you aren't dealing with this headache for the next couple of years.
Exactly. A woman posts some random nonsense photo here and there, but it never even crossed my mind to go back and scrutinize those pictures. What actually matters is what I choose to carry in my memory, and what isn't... honestly, I couldn't care less about the rest.
I honestly don't get this obsession with photographing every single little thing while you're supposed to be on vacation. Is this some kind of delayed gratification tactic? You spend the whole time posing and snapping shots of everything in real-time just so you can sit around looking at them when you finally get back home? What on earth is the point...
It’s like when some tourist flies all the way from Tokyo to New York just to take a picture of the Federal Reserve building. What an absolute waste of time...
I can't say I completely agree that movie tickets have become outrageously expensive. If you look at the average ticket price at a theater like AMC, it sits right around $10, which is basically the cost of two beers or just a bit more than a pack of cigarettes. That’s pretty much what it costs to get into a USL soccer match at most stadiums, and it's actually $3.25 less than what you'd pay to see a match involving a team like Los Angeles FC. It feels a bit silly to bundle the price of popcorn and sodas into the overall cost of going to the movies; nobody is forcing your hand to buy them. You can always just grab a bottle of water at a 7-Eleven for $1.25 and maybe some snacks for ten bucks if you're feeling hungry.
I don't know... considering how much everything else costs these days, $15 feels like a perfectly reasonable price for a movie. When you weigh it against everything else we're throwing money at, I think any of us can afford to head to the cinema once in a while. Again, I'm saying you don't have to blow another $17 on overpriced snacks if you're on a budget, right?
Has anyone actually been out to the movie theater lately? I’ve been scanning the schedules, looking for something worth my time, but since that last Oscar-nominated blockbuster left theaters, I haven't seen a single thing on the marquee that looks remotely interesting... and honestly, I was really craving some decent popcorn.
