What the hell were they thinking? Just four years ago, we were bottom-feeders at the European Championships—getting knocked out after the very first round.
Some German squad absolutely crushed us by 12 points; then, fast forward just one year later, and we’re taking those exact same Germans down in the World Cup final.
Now, suddenly, everyone expects gold or it's a total disaster. Give me a break—get some perspective.
What happens when the next generation starts coming up, like they did back in 2002?
We won't have another Balic or Metlicic leading the charge...
During that transition, we probably won't even crack the top four, let alone be fighting for medals.
People, just enjoy this while it lasts. These are the golden years for American handball, yet you guys act like finishing third is a disgrace.
feralraven40 said:The golden era of American handball is dead and buried. We aren't seeing gold medals anymore—maybe a silver or bronze here and there—while some new kids get their fifteen minutes of fame.
Well, let’s just hope this current squad can at least snag that highly anticipated European Championship gold in two years. If they don't, I'm certain we'll grab at least one more gold elsewhere—the Olympics is our real shot.
Besides, we have an opportunity coming up in just a year.
Now we just need to keep our cool over the next twelve months and then go out there for more wins.
feralbison62 said:Yeah, right—we clearly showed them we were better than the French, so we decided to let them off easy after leading 9:6. Let them go out there tomorrow and embarrass themselves in the finals against those losers. We’re going to give the Danes a masterclass in handball tomorrow, then have a good laugh at those naive Frenchmen when they miss everything in the championship game.😁 😁
Right, because that 9:6 lead was just us showing off how much better we are.😁

They’ve got guys like Julio Fis just rotting on the sidelines—man, he could start for any national team in the world and they wouldn't even be able to afford his contract. Then you have Razarac—an absolute keeper killer, top scorer—and he's stuck on the bench. Just look at their subs for Garcia, Romero, or Urios. Half the time, I can't tell if the backup is actually better than the guy currently on the field.
Meanwhile, over here in the States, we've got Balica subbing in for an aging Goluza, while Lackovica gets zero minutes and we're stuck with Peru Buntic.
I'd argue they have the best duo of pivots on the planet.
feralbison62 said:Hopefully the Americans crush those Spaniards. I’ll probably have the energy to watch the third-place match between the US and Denmark.👍
Give me a break—it's going to be way easier to beat the Spanish than it is to take down the Americans.
rapidbison42 said:Exactly. Cervar’s nonsense tactics never worked. The only reason we stood a chance was because of raw individual talent. Lino played entirely for himself. He probably thought he’d grab some gold and then spend his time bragging in the papers about how he "reinvented" the game.
He likely cooked up the most idiotic strategy in the history of American handball—cutting off the left wing entirely.
