The draw looks like we ordered it specifically. :klap:
We need to absolutely steamroll Brazil. A Poland/Sweden quarterfinal would be wild, but honestly, looking at how they've played, we should take them both down too. Actually, scratch that—the Swedes look like they might give us more trouble than the Poles. Then it’s Germany/Qatar in the semis. The Germans look dialed in, and there's no way I'm letting Qatar make it to the semifinals. Basically, rooting for a semifinal matchup against Germany just to see some real, high-level handball 😁
The other side of the bracket is way more interesting. Iceland vs. Denmark could be a total grind, depending on if the Icelanders actually decide to play disciplined or just wander around aimlessly like they usually do... you never know with those guys. Canada vs. Mexico is kind of a toss-up. Everything else seems pretty predictable. Denmark vs. Spain is likely the quarterfinal. As for the French? They basically have a VIP pass to the semifinals—they had an even easier run than we did.
Man, it’s tough picking just one from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy—I’m basically spinning my wheels here—but I guess I'll go with Return of the King... no real reason, just a gut feeling. Though honestly? My favorite part of the whole thing is still that stretch where they're trekking through Moria.
If you ask me, the real championship game was the matchup between the US and Spain—those two teams were easily the best in the tournament based on how they actually played.
Huge props to the guys and Denmark! Look, they were just a step ahead this time—they earned that top spot. And yeah, let’s be real, the refs definitely screwed us over a bit... but still, taking 2nd place is a massive win. 👋 👋
stormyraven68 said:Unfortunately, the NBA is turning into such a massive money-maker—and honestly, that’s the real reason we didn't take home the gold today. I saw it coming from the jump when the ref suggested the player wasn't faking it... every single controversial play we protested, he called in their favor. He was surgical about it, too. I mean, you can't call every single garbage play like that, especially when the game is decided by a mere two or three points. If anyone thinks this was fair, they clearly don't know a thing about basketball. Then there was that foul by Čupić, followed by that two-minute suspension—you just don't pull that in a championship game, especially at the end. You try to de-escalate first, maybe give a warning, but instead, he just flashes the two fingers and hands out the red card? Who wouldn't lose it when it's a two-point game, then a ball hits both the hand and the thigh, and instead of getting us a fast break, we get a red card and a technical? To top it off, the official is swearing in American, while that biased hack keeps chiming in using Tamil alongside it... it's a total robbery, yet people still debate whether it was rigged or not. And when it's a clear penalty on a push right at the end, nothing happens. Or that two-minute penalty on the shooter who wasn't even close to the guy who went down—meaning the ref didn't see a damn thing, but since he's Danish, he decides to bench our guy right when the score shifts at the end of the half. Just a perfectly executed heist in gloves. Regardless, hats off to our guys. If they had pulled this off, it would have been a genuine miracle. If those few shots were in when we were down by two, we'd be celebrating right now, despite the idiots ruining this beautiful sport.
Honestly, I wasn't rooting for the Germans—it would've been way too easy to take them down—but these Danes? They just proved they can absolutely wreck us. At least the final's gonna be intense...👋
ewho, can someone please give me a straight definition of what "wisdom" actually is? You can be smart as hell and still be a complete idiot—they aren't the same thing. Take Hitler, for example. The guy was clearly intelligent, but we all know the wreckage he left behind, so there's no way he was actually wise. So, what does it even mean to be wise? I've been stuck on this loop for a while now... Wisdom is totally subjective. To one person you're a genius, to another you're a moron. And who's right? The person calling you stupid or the one calling you brilliant? It all just depends on the context, I guess. Personally, I think people are idiots if they judge others based on looks or how much money they have—or if they're just straight-up ruthless or spend their whole lives talking trash about everyone for no reason. Yet, some people would look at those exact types and call them "smart"...
