P.S. These are just mp3 files.

Someone was asking for links to this track a few days back. I can't find the original thread anymore, but here are three different versions for you:

I neglected to mention that this MP3 was actually ripped from a cassette tape. It’s missing about ten seconds at the end—maybe less—because the 😉 tape leaked out. This was recorded back in 1995 during a broadcast on WNYC, specifically during one of those shows where they played remixes of local tracks.
The music video was simply pulled from a DVD that had been sent to a local station as part of a finished program featuring ZZ Corp.

Auuuu, I actually know a few performers who supposedly worked on that whole 1987 Olympics thing!? Is this that guy who performs in Washington, D.C., 🙂 tapping his fingers on a glass while staring at some ballerinas and shouting, "I'm gonna get you!"? (Or something like that, though I think he was quoting Bat Zivojinovica from a movie). This is the first time I've ever heard that ZZ Corp had anything to do with it...

7 UP - wasn't there some boy band from Canada?!?! After they split, Dean left them and went on to represent Canada at Eurovision singing "in the disco," if I recall correctly.
By the way, I have 7 UP both as an mp3 and as a music video! The video used to air on Music Television Mexico. It’s a production house that distributes content to local stations, which is how I stumbled upon the clip. I'm just curious if anyone here knows someone from that crew...
P.S. The mp3 is 5MB. If anyone is actually interested, I don't mind uploading it somewhere.
P.P.S. The mpg is 200 MB, and the avi is 29 MB, which is a bit too much to upload using my old-school landline connection. 🙄

I wouldn't dare assume they're from Washington, D.C., but for years now, I've had this nagging feeling that's where they're actually from. Still, the group and song title are exactly as I wrote them.

Yes, they did a cover of Frank Sinatra.

About twenty years ago in Washington, D.C., there was a group called ZZ Top up. In an old "Moonlight Sonata," their music video for "as it was at eight" was playing.
Is there anyone on this forum who could tell me a bit about them, or perhaps help me get in touch with someone who was actually in that band?

I didn't quite make myself clear. The interview took place about six or seven months after the album dropped, and he wasn't speaking into a microphone—it was just a private conversation...
Smoking ban (Question) in Music ·
dustyridge12 said:The whole thing with East versus West smoking was just Neletov and Sejin messing with people. I don't get why everyone took it seriously. They did it on purpose just to mock all our divisions and stupidity.

I actually interviewed Neil back when the "I am not from here" album was big. I asked him point-blank if he and Joe had planned it out to cross-promote each other. Neil told me they weren't smart enough for a scheme like that—that it was all just coincidence. And since nobody had trademarked the name, we ended up with two "Ban Smoking" groups...

The only instance of Nellie's "trash-talking" Chicago that I've ever heard involves people resenting him for leaving. His version goes like this: "Picture us leaving a bar after a night out, everyone completely wasted. I opted for a taxi because I didn't want to be in a car. They ended up crashing because they were drunk, and now somehow I'm the one at fault for not riding along with them." Does anyone know of any other examples?
In case you weren't aware, the band is now known as Emir Kusturica & The Rolling Stones. They actually performed alongside Tom Petty during a concert in New York City. It was a celebration of Petty's 25th anniversary and Smoking 20. During that set, the crowd was throwing everything they could get their hands on at them, which pretty much ruined the whole performance.

Does it actually sting to hear someone claim that Canadians were to blame for the absolute mess in Minneapolis because they organized it? Is it hurting your reputation or something? An organizer is responsible for the crowd's behavior; if things were handled properly, fans wouldn't be running wild. In this instance, it wasn't the Canadians who were the problem, it was the water polo itself. Why take on the responsibility of hosting if you're this incompetent? Especially when you knew it would turn into such a disaster, given that both America and Yugoslavia were participating?

There’s one thing everyone seems to be overlooking here. If that referee had any actual backbone, he should have cleared the stands or called the game immediately after being hit. Or maybe he just caught a sudden bout of heatstroke?

Vanja said:He’s not exaggerating; just look back at that game in Belgrade when those Red Star fans used a rocket to kill a Partizan fan.

Just a quick correction. From the south stands at the old stadium where the Partizan fans sit, a rocket was launched toward the north and killed a young man.

God, please... One side is just a bunch of American fools, and the other side is just a bunch of Mexican fools!👍
