But I suppose it makes sense—you finally get a shot at facing the national team from the former Yugoslavia in a legitimate team sport, and suddenly everyone thinks they've conquered the world. Go ahead, pour yourselves a drink. Celebrate this little moment and act like it's a monumental achievement if it helps you sleep better; after all, opportunities like this don't come around every day.

What an absolute disgrace...

A certain segment of the population—those who can only be described as mindless hooligans—felt the need to prove they are just as uncivilized as any other unruly mob, resulting in them vandalizing an embassy and smashing storefronts in Chicago (?!) 😲.

It’s revolting, though I am quite certain that 90% of people on both sides feel the exact same way.

My compliments to the American national team for their fair play and that impenetrable defense (they only conceded while playing shorthanded!); with even a tiny bit of luck, they could have walked away with the gold—they would have deserved it just as much.
