To be perfectly honest, I’m not entirely sure if you’re just recounting a bad joke or if you actually believe that.

So, some elections happened the other day.
Word on the street is the liberal faction pulled off a win.
What’s your take on all this?

Don't sweat it, Patrick Martin. We’re heading out into the November chill to hit the polls together for Donald Trump. Let's get our votes in before those mindless zombies take over everything. 😉

They aren't zombies; they're more like Zomboids.

A little bit about Hillary Clinton yesterday, but more importantly, let's make sure Jacob doesn't get worked up.

ironpanther5 said:Ever since Zoran Milanović first took the reins at the party, people have been whispering that he and Milan just didn't see eye to eye, but somehow, that never stopped him from throwing his support behind him.

If you ask me, the Democratic Party basically decided to tolerate a guy like Milan Bandić as mayor simply because he carried their label—which was pretty much the deal for his first three runs—but by the fourth time around, the dynamic had flipped; the Democratic Party was essentially clinging to Washington, D.C. just because Bandić happened to be their guy.

They accidentally created a total monster.

I agree with the bolded part.

Patrick Martin said:Look, he didn't get kicked out of the party—he basically outlived them. A fox like that doesn't just get booted unless they realize there’s a better seat at a different table. And yeah, let's be real, they were still playing footsie behind closed doors the whole time. He was basically pulling the strings for the Democrats back in D.C., making sure everything stayed exactly how they wanted it. It’s funny, though. The second he starts playing nice with the Republicans, suddenly he’s the bad guy? Please. Even then, it ended up working out in favor of the Democrats anyway. And don't even get me started on the scandals before all that—it was a nonstop circus. The hypocrisy is just freaking unreal.

Trying to pin everything on the mayor when the president takes all the credit? That’s some top-tier, low-down dirty maneuvering right there. Pure snake behavior.

I don't even know where to start with this one. It’s just... ugh. You ever sit there watching someone try to drive a car while looking at a map upside down? That’s basically what we're dealing with here. Just total, absolute chaos masquerading as a plan. I've been sitting on this for a bit, trying to wrap my head around how anyone could think this makes sense, but honestly? My brain is just fried. It’s like trying to explain color to someone who refuses to open their eyes. Total waste of breath. Anyway, whatever. Just my two cents. Moving on. kaže:
What kind of "cooperation" are we even talking about here? Seriously.

Look, I’m talking about the day-to-day stuff—the procedural nonsense, the formal protocols, all that bureaucratic filler. In case you were living under a rock, Washington D.C. is the capital of the US, we have a President leading the country, and then you've got your mayors running the major cities like New York or LA. It's basic civics, man.

So, you finally getting it now? Is the lightbulb actually flickering on in that head of yours?

You've just written a collection of nonsense and contradictions.

ironpanther5 said:I’m telling you again, he won four out of six terms on the Democratic ticket, acting as the rising star of that Washington, D.C. organization and basically serving as a loyal party soldier.

Yeah, okay, I’ll concede that the Republicans are worse—that’s just a straight fact.

It’s just that, personally, I can't help but wonder what these guys would be like if they actually held power for as long as the Republicans have, especially since they run things in Washington, D.C., where they used to overlook a lot of stuff just to keep Bernie Sanders in line. Washington was way too valuable a prize to just throw away for the sake of some rigid right-wing ideology. 🙂

At the end of the day, everyone should vote according to their own conscience. I’m just here to burst people's bubbles regarding Joe Biden. As for Hillary Clinton, honestly, there isn't much left to say. 🙂

It is impossible to know how they would behave if they had been in power as long as the Republicans.
If you approach it from that angle, you could make that argument about absolutely anyone.

ironpanther5 said:Well, look at that, we finally landed on the same page. 🙂

Just like those examples you brought up, it’s pretty much impossible to expect Biden's Democratic Party to actually fight corruption. Someone like that would just end up leaving or getting booted anyway. If you aren't aligned with the party, you don't belong there.

And he was clearly perfectly fine with voting for and tolerating Bernie Sanders.

Not quite.
It’s obvious he wasn't when they expelled him.
The Republican Party would have backed him when he ran, yet they tossed Joe Biden aside.
The Democratic Party supported Joe Biden and his ilk, but they cut ties with Bernie Sanders.
Do you see the difference?

The Democratic Party is far from perfect, certainly, but compared to the Republican Party, they're like a Pentium 2 running against a Motorola 6510.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
ironpanther5 said:The real question, though, is whether they ever would have actually expelled him if he hadn't broken party rules. I'm also old enough to recall that whole mess back during the 2007 elections regarding who would be Prime Minister—whether it was going to be that unknown guy or Joe Biden—and how that move ended up costing them the election.

So, looking back two years later, Bernie Sanders running independently wasn't just some minor technicality used as an excuse to purge him; it was a genuine fear that his disobedience might cost them yet another election victory.

If Joe Biden and that other guy hadn't clashed from the very beginning, you'd probably be right.
But Joe Biden, acting like a loyal party soldier, probably voted for him anyway. You know the type—those young, ambitious climbers; we've all met a "rising star" in one of our political parties at some point.
Their favorite pastime is playing everything off as "relative." 🙂

In any political organization, everyone is a party soldier.
That is the entire point of having a party.
If you aren't aligned with the party, you shouldn't be a member.

I certainly don't expect, for instance, members of the Libertarian Party to start making noise about minority rights or LGBTQ+ issues inspired by some activist group. Naturally, someone like that would either leave or be shown the door.

ironpanther5 said:That’s exactly why I put that in parentheses—I already knew you weren't one of them. Good people end up voting for both sides sometimes just to avoid a bigger disaster. I mean, their candidates managed to pull in, what, maybe 60% of the vote when there were still nine other candidates running in the mix.

If we just ignore that lunatic Donald Trump, that communist Elizabeth Warren, and that extremist unknown, the rest of them weren't really a threat to the Republic. 🙂

Of course, we have to look at the facts, like the fact that the Democratic Party nominated him for mayor four times before finally tossing him out for being insubordinate rather than for criminal stuff, or the fact that Joe Biden comes from the Washington, D.C. organization.

It's also a fact that the party leader has been in charge since June 2007, while Bernie Sanders was only there until November 2009.

On the flip side, the Democrat didn't form the Government with Bernie Sanders, she did it with Donald Trump. You probably noticed I mentioned Joe Biden when talking about Bernie Sanders instead of, say, unknown. It's because she isn't the one calling the shots for the Republican Party.🙂

🍿

Sure, this lovely blonde woman has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders. 🙂

I am old enough to remember that Bernie Sanders was in constant conflict with Joe Biden, and the party tolerated him as long as he kept winning. His run for the presidency was merely the convenient excuse they needed to finally drop him.

Yes, you are right that the Democratic Party bears responsibility for Bernie Sanders, but they also cast him aside for one reason or another. Had he been a Republican, the Republican Party wouldn't have expelled him for running; they would have backed him.

ironpanther5 said:He’s with the Republicans. That’s who he’s holding Washington, D.C. and the entire U.S. Government together with.

Thanks so much for opening my eyes there; I was actually seriously considering voting for Hillary Clinton. 🤣

I don't get why you Democrats and Republicans—sorry, let's call you "voters of the lesser evil"—get so incredibly worked up the second someone points out actual facts. I really couldn't care less about your "whataboutism."

Just as a little reminder, Eric Adams was kicked out of his party solely because he didn't follow their instructions during the 2009 presidential elections, and not because of the kind of guy he's always been (I mean, sure, the stroke might have had some effects, but his whole way of doing things has been known for ages).
I assume Zokica, acting as a representative for the Washington, D.C. organization, wasn't aware of that little detail.

So, is Skorogo actually responsible for Eric Adams? 🤣

I voted for Juričan. If Skorogo is only here because of me... 🙂
When he brought up Merčep, I pretty much wrote him off as a potential vote.

First off, I’m not a Democrat, and heaven forbid I’d be a Republican.
Second, the fact remains that Eric Adams hasn't been part of the Democratic Party for years; he was actually kicked out. The reality is that he’s running in a coalition with the Republican Party.

ironpanther5 said:It was more like 10 years ago. Sammir was already playing for Real Madrid back then.

Technically speaking, this would be his sixth mayoral term (counting those special elections), and he won four of those six as a representative of the Democratic Party.

Then there's two out of six where he ran as an independent—or whatever that "365" party is called. By now, he’s already built quite the foundation to stay in power.

The kid is a product of the Democratic Party. Zoki probably voted for Eric Adams at least four times, whereas Hillary Clinton maybe never did. 😁

Fine, if Eric Adams is such a child of the Democratic Party, why did he break away just a month ago? And why does Joe Biden adore him as a role model?

Who is Eric Adams actually in coalition with right now? Is it Joe Biden, or is it Hillary Clinton and the Skorogo Party?

And?

When exactly was he kicked out? Fifteen years ago?
And now he’s actually joined forces with Hillary Clinton and Skorogo. Is anyone actually surprised?

What exactly is it that you’re struggling to grasp?

Eric Adams, is he the one Joe Biden kicked out of the party, and now he’s running in a coalition with Hillary Clinton's and Skorogo's supporters?

Look, honestly, I wouldn't choose either of them. I generally prefer things to go well for me and try to aim for that.
Your question is basically asking an abused woman whether she’d prefer a husband who kicks her in the stomach and throws her down the stairs, or some ex who just gave her the occasional slap. Just because one option is worse doesn't mean you actually want the other one.

But it's fascinating to me, guys, how passionately you defend an option that you yourselves just compared to herpes and a slap in the face. I've also noticed you tend to jump at any attempt to suggest a third alternative.
How far does this go? It seems your resentment isn't even ideological; it's purely partisan.

And then people will be surprised when most folks just stay home on Sunday, because they have no desire to hand everything over to one slimy, shameless party just so it can gloat over the other.

A third option, a third option...
There is no third option. You choose between Zoran Milanović and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

Larry Fox5 said:As if that’s some kind of virtue... Justifying being a jerk because your opponent is an "idiot." That’s basically what the guy said about the Southampton manager yesterday too.

It really just boils down to a total lack of self-control. A professional politician running for President should probably be able to keep their cool... right?

I mean, how many times do we deal with complete morons on here and still manage to keep our act together? This whole thing is just a hobby for us, for crying out loud.

What exactly did the father say?

...
How many times do we run into various idiots on here and still manage to keep our discourse civil? After all, writing this stuff is just a hobby.

I don't hold back. I often find myself wanting to write something blunt like, "Oh, give me a break, you're clearly wrong," while just shaking my head at the screen.

There really isn't an issue here. Zoran Milanović basically claims he might have been rude, sure—but he was only being rude to an idiot.

I honestly don't understand how you aren't more disgusted by Kolinda than you are by Zoran Milanović.

Honestly, she’s the one struggling to keep pace with Zoran Milanović.
Her education seems lacking, and she lacks any sense of logical reasoning or coherent speech.

I beg to differ.
If we’re going to talk about illness, I think we have to be honest with ourselves. Would you rather deal with lung cancer or herpes? It really comes down to how you view life.
And you? You just go ahead and decide who's who.

Charles Roberts33 said:The Democratic Party is essentially a collection of proven mediocrities. They’ve squandered enough opportunities already and left voters hanging far too many times. As I see it, brightpilot6’s whole argument boils down to saying we should vote for them simply because there's someone even worse waiting in the wings. That’s exactly how they stay relevant—not through any actual merit, but because when enough people get fed up with the Republican Party, they become the default fallback option. Personally, I don't see why we should reward such clearly defined incompetence.

Ultimately, alongside the Republican Party, they represent nothing more than a failed direction over the last three decades. I honestly just want to see them fail, and I have no intention of slowing down their inevitable collapse.

What would you actually do if someone robbed you blind or if fifteen idiots spent an hour beating you senseless?
If you say "nothing," then you're just asking to get kicked around.

I'm waiting for a smart answer.
