wiredrider9 said:And how do you even know if it's "natural" growth versus what we're seeing now? It's all just guesswork, man.

Right. About as natural as a Burmese python in Florida.

Noah Roberts46 said:I’m signing on to this, along with Paul Sanders5. It particularly irritates me when animal rights activists blame the entire human race for everything. Sure, we made mistakes in the past, but I trust we've learned from them. Let's stop ignoring the fact that without human intervention, certain species would have gone extinct on their own or due to other predators anyway. Take pythons in Florida, for instance; they spread out and started wrecking the entire ecosystem, so humans stepped in and started hunting them heavily because they're invasive. Regardless of how many animals went extinct throughout history without any human influence...

So, where did those Burmese pythons in Florida even come from?
LOL

Didn't people likely bring them there in the first place?

You're essentially contradicting yourself here.

EDIT:
I decided to dig a little deeper into this.
Pythons are apex predators in Florida, whereas they aren't in Burma.
Do you know why?
It’s because there aren't any large cats left to hunt them.
There used to be jaguars in the southern parts of the US that would hunt massive snakes like these.
Do you know when the jaguars disappeared from Florida?
Roughly 11,000 years ago.
Let's play a game of connect the dots: what else happened around the same time the Florida jaguars went extinct? The rise of human civilization, wouldn't you say?

Someone made a good point once... it’s such a shame CO2 is colorless. If it were purple or green or something, maybe we'd actually see how much of it is hovering all around us.👍

And the best part? We actually understand the mechanism by which greenhouse gases drive up the temperature.
We even have a clear example within our own solar system (Mars).
We've measured the rise in temperature ourselves.

But no, according to the skeptics, this is all just a conspiracy cooked up by scientists with their own secret agendas—and apparently, almost all of them are lying.

Wildlife is struggling, countless species have already vanished, and many more are teetering on the edge. But again, that’s just something scientists made up to serve their hidden motives.

The bison in the USA disappeared because of natural Earth cycles, not humans. Tigers, mammoths, certain whale species, rhinos... it’s all just part of the Earth's natural rhythm. Human activity has nothing to do with it.

It isn't about consumption at all.
It’s simply part of our nature.
The real issue lies in how we produce things and how we consume them.
Take the ozone layer, for instance. It was in serious trouble. Once we realized the damage we were doing, we phased out CFCs, and the ozone layer began to recover.
That doesn't mean people stopped using refrigerators. We just started manufacturing different kinds of refrigerators.
Then there’s asbestos. Once the experts realized it was lethal, it was banned. Did construction stop? Of course not. People just started building with safer materials.

I am certain we will follow the same pattern with oil. We have recognized its impact. We will replace it with something else—wind, solar, hydro, nuclear energy. The possibilities are essentially limitless.

Right now, the only sectors where we lack a truly viable alternative are food production and land usage. Everything else is achievable; we just need the collective will to do it.

Seriously, these politicians were totally terrified by one little girl
You clearly need someone to come along and knock some sense into you, maybe give you a reality check

Oh, absolutely. Don't act like you don't know.

But that doesn't change the fact that her core argument is fundamentally sound.
My issue isn't with the message itself, but rather this tendency to turn a massive, systemic crisis into a superficial social media trend.

The reality is that the superpowers are locked in a high-stakes game of chicken, racing toward each other at 400 miles per hour, just waiting to see who blinks first.
Everyone knows we're heading straight for a disaster (well, everyone except Trump), but whoever abandons this insane race for industrial dominance and rapid urbanization first is going to lose everything.

Noah Roberts46 said:What’s your actual scientific background? Zero. You read a couple of articles and suddenly you're an expert posting 🤦 , bravo. 🤦

I started 🤦 pointing out the blatant nonsense you've written.
I don't need a PhD to spot that.

Let me ask you something: who are you actually going to trust? Trump, or the 99% of scientists who maintain that humans are the driving force behind global warming? Or someone like Bolsonaro?

No matter how you slice it, history shows us there have been five major mass extinctions. They all had clear triggers—volcanic eruptions, meteor strikes, things of that nature.
We aren't seeing anything like that right now, yet we are witnessing a massive extinction of species.
The only logical conclusion is that humans are the cause.

Let’s make it simpler. Why do you think wolves or lynx are endangered in the US? Is it some mysterious, shadowy force, or is it people?
Overfishing?
Why is biodiversity plummeting in the Atlantic Ocean? Is it due to a volcanic eruption, a natural planetary cycle, or is it because of excessive fishing and dumping waste and oil?

What kind of scientific journal do you need to prove that?

I remember when I was a kid playing in Central Park, the squirrels were everywhere; down near Fifth Avenue, you'd see raccoons scurrying around... I haven't seen any of that in decades.

Go up to the hills overlooking Washington, D.C., and look down at the city; it looks like it's trapped under a dome. It isn't a dome, though. It's smog.

Denying pollution and its impact on the environment is nothing short of pure blindness.

I am no eco-fanatic. In fact, I am a huge supporter of technology. But for God's sake, certain things are going to have to change drastically, or we won't be around much longer in the state we are in today (referring to the human race, obviously).

No, an apocalypse isn't going to strike in 20, 30, or 40 years. Certainly not for Trump and his descendants; they'll be doing just fine for generations. The question is, how will everyone else—the majority—fare?

Noah Roberts46 said:Globalists are weaponizing climate change, and I honestly don't know how anyone falls for it. All these celebrities and self-proclaimed "activists" preach about saving the planet while flying private jets and cruising on massive yachts—it’s pure hypocrisy. Then they have the nerve to lecture the rest of us. Give me a break. It's just as hard for us laypeople to weigh in because the science keeps shifting; you have scientists making grand claims one day only to be proven wrong the next. Yet, some things are just common sense. Why are the people backing Greta busy shaming Americans when China is dumping fifty times more plastic into the ocean? Or look at India's emissions levels. This whole movement is just about chasing headlines through sick, performative politics.

🤦

If today's society was even remotely sane, we'd have her tucked away in a psych ward instead of treating her like some icon. And let's be real: global warming is mostly nonsense, and the idea that humans are the main culprit? Total garbage. Human impact on the atmosphere is basically nothing more than a fart in a hurricane.

Larry Fox5 said:Scientists have been talking for years and absolutely nothing changes. Basically, nobody listens to them while this bright little girl is being used as the face for our kids' generation. Even just her showing up and saying those "pathetic" things—as you put it—should at least shake us up enough to think about what kind of mess we're leaving behind.

Tracking has always been overrated...

If that was enough to shake you, then you're about twenty or thirty years too late to the party.

But fine. If being rattled by some teenager's half-baked talking points about pollution and global warming is what it takes to get you thinking, then so be it.
At least there's some utility in that.

To hell with Greta☕

It seems Trump and his inner circle are getting awfully worked up about what little Mali is up to.

It’s going to play out exactly like the vaccination debates did.
People will only learn their lesson when they're staring down the barrel of a massive epidemic.
In this situation, people won't learn until they feel the consequences firsthand. They’ll only truly come to their senses once it hits home.

There’s just no help to be found here.

It’s been a few days since I’ve seen anything quite this wild. This little girl actually has the mannerisms of William Shatner in his veteran years 🤣🤣

I find myself largely agreeing with the crowd shouting about environmental issues. Global warming, pollution, mass extinction, and all those other horrors...
But this specific argument? It’s idiotic.
Wouldn't it have been more effective to bring in an actual scientist to deliver some substance instead of just pouring out this much cheap pathos?

Jesse Wells8 said:So I asked a buddy yesterday—which famous Premier League player played in the Intertoto Cup back in the mid-90s against the Pittsburgh Miners?

Of course he didn't know (I mean, who actually remembers useless trivia like that?)—it was the Spurs

Then I look up the Spurs roster and see he actually played—the esteemed Mr. SAP😁

https://www.11v11.com/matches/rudar-...y-1995-304713/

Even though Wikipedia claims he never made a single appearance for the Spurs😁

Back in the 1995 UEFA Intertoto Cup, Pardew actually suited up four times for Tottenham Hotspur during a brief loan spell. It was a stint that included one of the most brutal afternoons in the club's entire history. He was right there on the pitch when Spurs were absolutely dismantled, suffering a crushing 8–0 defeat on the road against the German side FC Köln. Why did it happen? Well, for that final group stage match in Cologne, the club decided to field a lineup consisting almost entirely of reserves and loanees, with Pardew among them. A recipe for disaster, wouldn't you say?

I’m looking at this roster and, honestly, I can’t say I recognize a single name on it. As for Osima, he’s obviously known for his work with SAP, and maybe people have heard of Samson or Watson, but that’s about it.
Alright, let's talk about David Byrne. I’m looking at a different perspective here, though, and honestly? I have my doubts that he’s actually the one we're looking for.
