The absolute agony of a blown lead
in Fans ·
Is there anything more soul-crushing than watching your team dominate for eight innings just to watch it all evaporate in a heartbeat? I was watching the game last night and honestly, I had to turn the TV off for a few minutes. It’s physically painful to see a massive cushion vanish because of one bad inning or a couple of heavy hits.
I feel like this happens way too often lately. You get into a rhythm, the pitching is dialed in, and then suddenly the momentum shifts so violently it feels like the floor just dropped out from under you. It makes you question if the bullpen can actually hold a lead or if "clutch" moments are just pure luck at this point.
When you’re a fan, do you prefer seeing a blowout where your team cruises, or is there a weird kind of satisfaction in those nail-biting extra-inning finishes, even if they are stressful as hell?
